Chapter 61 Flying to Bangkok

Chapter 61 Flying to Bangkok

All the scenes in China were filmed, and on March 1st, all the crew members flew to Bangkok, Thailand on a chartered flight.

The filming location in Thailand was in Bangkok's Chinatown, which is the largest Chinese community in Southeast Asia.

The location for the film had been selected long ago, and the local government and official agencies in Chinatown showed great enthusiasm for the arrival of the "Detective Chinatown 2" crew.

Last year, the domestic film "Lost in Thailand" became a huge hit, directly driving the development of the entire Thai tourism industry.

The Prime Minister of Thailand met with Xu Zheng and the crew of "Lost in Thailand" at the Prime Minister's Office, thanked "Lost in Thailand" for promoting Thai tourism, and expressed his welcome for more domestic directors to shoot films in Thailand.

Statistics show that after the release of "Lost in Thailand", more than 2.5 million domestic tourists visited Thailand during the Spring Festival, a three-fold increase over the same period last year.

The publicity effect of a successful movie is terrifying.

The popularity of "Lost in Thailand" has not yet passed, and local official agencies have given great convenience to the film crew.

No matter what they do, as long as the crew proposes it, they will find a way to cooperate.

This brought great convenience to the filming of the movie.

The plane landed and the crew checked into the hotel. Everyone took a day off to get familiar with the environment and climate. The filming of the scenes in Thailand will officially begin tomorrow.

It’s not that the crew doesn’t want everyone to have more rest. Shooting a movie in a foreign place, with a large crew of hundreds of people, the funds are burning like crazy every day, and the filming cannot be delayed.

The entire filming of the movie [Detective Chinatown] was actually done in several fixed locations in Bangkok's Chinatown, with some highway chase scenes.

The script reading has already been conducted in China, and each actor has a certain understanding of the role he or she needs to play.

To be honest, although the movie "Detective Chinatown" is a logical comedy detective movie, it is still a comedy in the final analysis.

The main characters' personalities are very fixed, and as long as you act according to the character's style, it won't be too bad.

The whole movie is simply about a gifted but stuttering teenager named Qin Feng who fails to get into the police academy and is sent by his grandmother to Thailand to find his distant cousin Tang Ren, who is known as the "No. 1 detective in Chinatown" but is actually a "sleazy" uncle, to relax.

After a night of debauchery, Tang Ren becomes a suspect in a bizarre murder and is forced to flee with Qin Feng. While evading police, bandits and gangsters, they must complete their tasks of finding the "lost gold", identifying the "real murderer" and clearing their names within just seven days.

The story is simple, but it has to be funny, logical and well-organized.

The first scene of the movie was still the role of our protagonist Tang Ren.

Qin Feng flew to Bangkok, but Tang Ren, who was supposed to pick him up at the airport, was late. He was playing mahjong.

The first scene the crew filmed was of Tang Ren playing mahjong.

The camera gave Baoqiang's face. At this time, he played Tang Ren, who was wearing a blue plaid casual suit, a big gold watch and circles of beads on his wrist, a Buddhist necklace around his neck, a cigarette in his mouth, and curly hair.

He was very happy having just won a game of cards, and stretched out his hand to collect money from everyone.

While he was sorting the cards, the phone rang and he picked it up to take a look.

At this time, the two mahjong players on both sides spoke, and a middle-aged woman on one side asked, "What's going on?"

On the other side, a middle-aged man's voice said, "You are not allowed to run away after winning!"

After hearing this, Tang Ren slammed his phone on the table and said, "Run?"

"On my left is a blue dragon drinking water, on my right is a white tiger wagging its tail, in my pocket is sand, wealth is coming home, behind me is a tree, the God of Wealth is visiting.

I will kill you all without leaving a single one alive."

After saying that, he took a puff of cigarette and continued fighting.

"Card!"

Baoqiang performed very well, but Gu Wei was still not very satisfied, always feeling that something was missing.

Look at the footage just now, and then look at Baoqiang’s outfit on the scene.

"Baoqiang, when you were speaking just now, your movements and tone could have been a little more exaggerated. Change the last line to 'I'm going to kill you all without leaving a single piece of armor or a single naked body~'"

Gu Wei walked forward, took a look and said to Baoqiang.

Then he pointed to the aunt on the left side of the mahjong table

"After Baoqiang said 'naked', you covered your mouth and gasped. Then Baoqiang looked at her and said 'forget it'."

"I understand, Director." Baoqiang thought for a moment and replied.

At Gu Wei's request, the scene was repeated. This time, Gu Wei felt much better, and Bao Qiang completely understood what Gu Wei meant. After filming was completed, Bao Qiang did it again according to the old rules.

After filming the first scene with Bao Qiang, the crew came to the first scene in the movie - Songpa Workshop.

Filming a scene where two major supporting characters, Huang Landeng and Kuntai, appear.

Both Chen He and Xiao Yang changed their clothes and put on makeup, and prepared to start filming with the extras behind them.

Gu Wei walked over and took a look at their attire.

"Makeup~" called the makeup artist over.

"Make Xiao Yang's hair and face shinier.

And the vest he's wearing underneath, cut off the bottom to show his belly."

The makeup artist quickly made up Xiao Yang again according to Gu Wei's request.

Xiao Yang looked at himself and said to Gu Wei with a wry smile, "Director, this outfit is too greasy."

Gu Wei smiled and said, "Greasy is good. The characteristic of your character is greasy. The greasy, the more successful."

At this time, Chen He came over and said, "Director, please teach me. What are the characteristics of my character, Huang Landeng?"

Gu Wei thought for a moment and said, "Very despicable, and very unlucky."

"Then how should I show his meanness, director?" Chen He asked.

"Just be more restrained in your acting." After Gu Wei said that, Chen He was speechless.

After instructing Xiao Yang on how to modify his makeup, the filming of this scene began.

In Songpa Workshop, Chen He and Xiao Yang, each leading a team of police officers, met each other. The conversation between the two also made clear the relationship between Huang Landeng and Kuntai, as well as their positions in the police force.

Because there was no role for Gu Wei, he didn't put on any makeup and just sat behind the camera, watching Chen He and Xiao Yang's performances.

Maybe because this was their first performance in the play, neither of them met Gu Wei's requirements.

Gu Wei was not in a hurry either. The crew needed to get used to each other, and the actors also needed to get used to each other. If everyone got into the right state, the filming of the movie would progress quickly.

This scene was repeated over and over again. After a few times, it was obvious that Chen He and Xiao Yang were getting a little restless.

"Card!"

"Stop for a moment, let the actors take a break."

Gu Wei called Chen He and Xiao Yang over and said, "Don't worry, let's shoot a few more times, take our time, and find the character's state. Once we find this state, it will be easier to shoot the next shots."

Gu Wei comforted them.

Seeing so many NGs, the director not only did not get angry, but also comforted them. The two of them also recovered their mood.

After a while, the filming continued.

The two of them still couldn't pass, but they were not anxious about NGs. After doing it again and again, everyone's shooting condition was getting better and better.

"Cut! Passed."

The two words "passed" seemed like the sound of nature to everyone, and everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

Although Zeng Li did not have any scenes, she was still on the scene with the crew.

"The director's requirements for the play are really strict." Zeng Li thought to himself after watching today's filming.
