528. A New Year's Letter to Book Friends

A New Year's Letter to Book Friends

Before we know it, the first month of 2024 is about to pass, and there are only 9 days left until the Chinese New Year. I would like to wish everyone a happy new year in advance!

[Follow Your Heart] This book was started to be written in May last year. It has been 9 months so far and has been updated with 1.7 million words. The author never thought that he would write such a long novel one day.

All we can say is that things are changing, everything is possible, and no one knows how their future will change.

The author started reading online novels when he was in junior high school and can be considered an old bookworm with more than ten years of reading experience.

At that time, there were not as many channels for online novels as there are now. The author clearly remembers that if he wanted to read a book, he had to go to a bookstore near the school to rent it. The deposit was 20 yuan, and the rental fee for a book was one yuan per day.

At that time, I read books like "Son of Light", "The Path of the Rising Dragon", "Bullet Hole", "Ghost Blows Out the Light", etc.

Of course, there is also a book called "I am a Great Master", which can be regarded as the author's introduction to online novels.

I don’t know if anyone has read this book. To be honest, the content of the book was a great shock to the author’s young mind at that time.

Now I can’t remember the details, but I still remember the general plot.

A wizard with infinite magic after eating sweet potatoes, angels, witches, etc., all kinds of YY, all kinds of fun.

In this way, the author developed the habit of reading online novels, which he has kept until now.

Over the past decade, the author has read countless online novels and witnessed the rise of various great platinum writers. He only thought that reading was a very enjoyable thing and never thought that one day he would write a book himself.

I only started reading Chinese entertainment literature in recent years. At the beginning, there were relatively few books of this type and it was difficult to find books. In recent years, there are more talented writers, but not many of them really suit my taste.

At the beginning of this year, the author rested at home for a few months due to job changes.

To put it bluntly, I was unhappy working at my previous company, so I quit, but haven't found a new one yet.

With nothing to do every day, I spent more time reading. I read the latest chapters of all the books I could. After falling into a book drought, one day the author suddenly thought of writing a book himself.

Just do it when you think of it, it doesn’t matter anyway.

It just so happened that I was reading various types of Chinese entertainment literature during that period, so I started reading this book.

The result was out of control until now.

To be honest, the author is really grateful to the readers when he first started writing the book, just like Qing Mochou, whom I thanked in the book club. When the author first started writing, he knew nothing and was supported by the passion in his heart. At that time, many people in the book club praised the author for his good writing. These comments at that time really gave the author great encouragement.

In this way, this book [Follow Your Heart] was recommended all the way from the urban channel, and was recommended by Sanjiang in that issue, and then put on the shelves.

At that time, the author knew nothing about the various recommendation mechanisms of Qidian. I just wrote and posted. I am very grateful to my screenwriter Qinghu for his support along the way. He taught me a lot and helped me avoid many detours.

One month after it was put on the shelves, this book received the boutique badge, and its average subscription has reached 4,500 till now, which is a mid-level result on Qidian.

I am really grateful to everyone who has supported the author and this book along the way.

I can see from my background that every month there are familiar names voting for monthly tickets and recommendation votes. I am really grateful to you all and thank you for your support.

Whenever I see these, I can feel that someone likes what I wrote, and I feel particularly happy and proud!

Speaking of which, because the author is a newbie, when I started publishing books, the first thing I did when I woke up every day was to read the comments from book friends. I would be very happy if there were any compliments, and I would be very energetic for the rest of the day.

Seeing criticism will make me sad and I will be in a bad mood for a while, which may even affect my writing state.

So I am very fortunate to have met a group of friendly readers when I started writing. It is your encouragement that has kept me going.

This is how the current 1.7 million-word "Follow Your Heart" came into being.

I have said a lot, I wonder if you are willing to listen to the author's nagging.

Sorry for the joke.

Next, I would like to talk to you about some of the author’s thoughts on writing the book.

Because the author is an old reader, he naturally incorporates his own requirements when reading books into the writing process.

When I read books before, the author would first require that the things in the book be as real and reasonable as possible, so that I would feel involved, and at least it would make sense logically.

Another thing is that the author wants to know what he should do if he were the protagonist. If the protagonist does something that does not make people feel happy, it does not meet the requirements.

These two points are quite easy to say. As a reader, the author will select books to read based on these two points.

But now that I am writing my own book, I am thinking about following these two points, which is too difficult. It is very difficult to achieve even one of them.

Now this book [Do Whatever You Want] can only be said to have barely achieved a little bit, and there are still many shortcomings, which is really due to the author's limited ability.

Having said so much, the author wants to say that online novels were a dream the author had when he was a child. Originally, he could only experience various fantasy stories and lives through the dreams of others.

Now I have the opportunity to weave such a dream by myself and have full control over it. It feels really good.

The author will persevere and write down the dreams in his heart, presenting them to every reader who supports me. I hope you will like my dreams, and I hope you will feel happy and refreshed when you put yourself in their shoes!!!
