Chapter 663 The Holy Light Never Dies

The jet-black greatsword, imbued with the deathly aura of the abyss, slashed with all its might at Saint Sirius's arm, which was piercing into Rita's body, attempting to force her to defend herself!

The Abyss Saint reacted even faster!

The star fragments glowed with a sudden surge of eerie light, and a solidified "void shackle" instantly bound the old dean's other fist that was about to strike Rita's head!

The chains clashed violently with the holy flames, producing a sickeningly loud annihilation sound!

Taking advantage of the split second, a soft starlight shot out from the Holy Son's sleeve, wrapped around Rita's broken body, and pulled her back sharply!

"Cough... Damn it... old madman!"

Rita, with only half of her charred torso remaining, fell behind the Holy Son, her face contorted in agony.

Without hesitation, she formed a hand seal, and a shattered hourglass phantom appeared between her forehead.

"Tracing Back Through Time!"

The silvery power of time reverses, carbonized flesh and blood regenerate rapidly, and torn organs are restored to their original state!

But when she staggered to her feet, her face was ashen, and her breath had dropped drastically, clearly indicating that she had paid a heavy price.

The Abyss Saint stood in front of the weakened Rita, his deep pupils scrutinizing the old headmaster, whose holy flames blazed fiercely, his voice carrying a hint of incomprehension and coldness:

"Is it worth it? Burning one's divinity for this temporary state of 'false god' is nothing but a desperate struggle!"

“If you were truly willing to sacrifice yourself and self-destruct your divine core, the Holy City would already be in ruins, and we would also suffer heavy losses! You held back… Saint Sirius.”

He pointed around.

The Holy Light Fist was incredibly powerful, but it avoided the core of the altar and the supporting pillars, only destroying the dome.

Even the Abyss Saint Son could tell that Saint Sirius had deliberately thrown that punch at the sky.

"At this point, you still pity this city that betrayed you, pity those compatriots who abandoned you? How foolish! How laughable!"

Saint Sirius's holy flames burned fiercely on his broken body, each breath sending out scorching golden sparks.

He ignored the Holy Son's cold questioning, his burning pupils piercing through the demonic energy of the abyss, locking onto the purple flames leaping in Balg's eye sockets.

“Balger,” the old dean’s voice was hoarse from the scorching holy flames, yet it struck the silent altar like a heavy hammer, “throwing yourself into the abyss, is that your answer to that knight who swore an oath to protect the weak under the holy emblem?”

The soul fire within Balg's skull suddenly froze, and the bones in his fingers gripping the black broken sword emitted a grating grinding sound.

"Look behind you!" Saint Sirius stepped forward barefoot, the shattered holy crystal turning to dust beneath his feet. His bloodied hand pointed towards the holy city, at the believers huddled in the shadows.

"They are not Omadrila! Not the parasites of the Privy Council! They are just... ordinary people who believe in the existence of light! To whom should your sword, your anger, be pointed?!"

Rita's newly reconstructed body was still trembling slightly, but upon hearing this, she let out a sharp, mocking laugh, the power of time swirling around her fingertips carrying a malevolent aura:

"Ridiculous! The abbot of the Holy City Monastery is indeed a master at using beautiful words to cover up filth! The winner is king, the loser is an outlaw!"

"When our Lord reigns, we will be the new Holy Light! At that time, we will repay this hypocritical holy city a hundredfold for the burning at the stake you have inflicted on the heretics!"

Saint Sirius's burning gaze didn't even glance at Rita; it remained fixed on Balgo, as if trying to imprint his final words into the depths of the abyss-tainted soul fire:

"The Holy Light... is never in the heavenly kingdom! It resides in the steadfast heart! Even if you are in the Enlightenment Society, if you still hold a trace of the will to protect in your heart, you can still be a knight! Balg, look at this city! Look at those you swore to protect!"

Balg's skull drooped, and his black broken sword trembled slightly. The crimson demonic energy wrapped around the sword seemed to dim a little, a silent struggle.

The last glimmer of hope in the old dean's eyes was extinguished, replaced by a resolute determination as intense as molten lava.

"Enough." His voice suddenly rose, as if declaring a sentence. "Today, I will rid you of these two true heretics! I only hope that you... will show mercy to the remaining buds of light in this city! Fear and the butcher's knife cannot cultivate true faith!"

Before he could finish speaking, his burning body suddenly collapsed!

He actually compressed the wildly dissipating holy light energy to its core point!

He transformed into a supernova about to explode!

"Stop him!"

The Abyss Saint's pupils contracted sharply, and the fragments of the star remnant erupted with an unprecedentedly dazzling ghostly light. Countless condensed void chains coiled towards Saint Sirius like giant abyssal pythons!

Too late!

The holy light, compressed to its absolute limit, was released with a roar!

Saint Sirius wouldn't joke about the ordinary people of the entire holy city, so he certainly didn't choose to self-destruct.

He chose the most brutal, and most direct, way to attack!

Use your body as a spear!

The target is Rita and the Abyss Saint!

boom--!

A beam of intensely white light, condensed to its fullest extent, tore through the chains of void, ignoring the distance in space.

It pierced through Rita's chest in an instant, before she could even activate Time Reversal again!

"Ugh—!"

This time, the screams were so shrill they were inhuman!

The Time Witch's proud regenerative abilities were forcibly interrupted by the purest form of holy light!

From the pierced wound, her flesh, bones, and even the time particles that constituted her existence melted and disintegrated instantly, like snowflakes thrown into a furnace!

The intense holy light almost completely erased her existence!

Her distorted face froze in agony amidst the blazing white light, her entire body covered in streaks of light like shattered glass, on the verge of exploding completely!

The beam of light, its momentum undiminished, pierced straight into the Holy Son of the Abyss!

The Holy Son's deep pupils suddenly contracted!

He frantically activated the fragments of the star remnant, creating layers upon layers of starlight barriers in front of him, while simultaneously retreating rapidly, attempting to merge into the spatial rift!

Sizzle—!

The blazing white beam pierced through thin paper like a red-hot steel rod, and the layers of starlight barrier shattered instantly!

"Pfft!"

The beam of light pierced the Holy Son's right chest!

The condensed holy light, like a maggot clinging to a bone, frantically eroded and annihilated the Holy Son's body!

"cough--!"

The Holy Son let out a suppressed groan of pain, his elegance and composure completely vanished, and his face revealed uncontrollable pain and rage.

The deep starlight magic, the power of the abyss, and the blazing holy light clashed fiercely in his chest!

The magnificent white priest's robe instantly turned to ashes, revealing the charred skin beneath, burned black by the holy flames, and the constantly dissipating stardust!

He staggered backward, each step leaving charred, burning footprints on the holy crystal ground. He clutched his right chest tightly with his right hand, holy light and stardust splattering violently between his fingers!

"Ugh... you old bastard...!" the Holy Son growled, his voice distorted by the excruciating pain.

His eyes gleamed with a dark light, and he pressed his left hand against his wounded chest, pulling out a thick, dark book from his chest.

A torrent of magical power originating from the very source of the abyss suddenly erupted!
