All the monsters who have heard of the Abyss Demon God's chef know this.
They were a group of humans from the Holy Dragon Continent, incredibly audacious yet possessing unbelievable skills.
They can transform the lofty demons into unparalleled delicacies that even the abyss craves!
...
At the edge of the Demon Realm Rift, a purplish-black sky hung low.
"Sizzle—!"
The starlight and moonlight tore through the filthy demonic energy, and the spatial rift opened steadily.
Mark, Anna, Enzo, Monica, and little M clinging to Mark's back once again familiarly stepped into this scorched land.
A strong smell of sulfur and blood hit the air, but the expected tidal wave of low-level monsters did not appear.
"Hmm?" Enzo, carrying the rune-forged hammer, raised his molten battle intent but then put it down in confusion. "What bad luck today? Have all the monsters gone home for dinner?"
Before the words were even finished, the demonic mist in the distance began to churn violently.
A roar filled with pain and rage rang out, and a massive, lower-level demon god—the Abyss Serpent—appeared, its left wing torn and its body bearing fresh burn marks.
Like trapped beasts being driven, they charged straight toward the team's position, accompanied by hundreds of obviously restless lesser demons and soul-devouring imps!
It was aggressive, yet it had an inexplicable strangeness about it.
"Ha! The delivery guy's here!" Enzo's eyes lit up, his forging hammer hummed, and dark lightning exploded instantly. "Let's take him down first! Anna, shoot out his eye! Same old routine!"
Anna's Shadow Arrow left the bowstring silently and pierced the Serpent's intact right eye with pinpoint accuracy.
Monica's Appraisal skill flashed: "Twisted Serpent Demon Salas, Lower-level Demon God, left wing laceration, magic source severely damaged by external force, weakness three inches below the Reverse Scale!"
Mark was surrounded by a seven-colored black light, and his cross necklace was slightly hot. He transformed into a berserk melee fighter and charged forward with Enzo.
The team's coordination remained flawless. Enzo engaged head-on to draw fire, Ana provided long-range suppression, Monica pinpointed the enemy's location, and Mark overwhelmed and finished them off!
"ruling!"
A burst of multicolored black light erupted, the blasphemous mark appeared, and the healing scroll was applied!
The entire process was smooth and efficient, far more so than the first hunt for Kanos.
The twisted serpent demon Salas only had time to let out one last, unwilling cry before its massive divine body rapidly withered and decayed under the engulfing black light, ultimately transforming into a dull "serpent corpse."
“This is the eighth one.” Anna put away her bow, her voice cold as she surveyed the low-level monsters scattered and fleeing around her. “It’s like they’ve all agreed to deliver themselves to us, wounded, every time.”
While rapidly collecting valuable demon materials, Monica added:
"More than that. Based on the previous battles, the timing and route they took to be driven to us seemed to have been precisely calculated, avoiding the lairs of some powerful monsters. There's something controlling things behind the scenes."
Enzo, however, didn't think much of it. He excitedly circled Salas's enormous corpse, his beard stained with demonic blood.
"Who cares who sent it! Boss Mark, this snake is fat! What are we having today? Stewed snake soup or stir-fried snake pieces? I think roasted ones are better!"
Beyond the Demon Realm Rift, beneath a distorted, purplish-black sky.
Ellen leaned lazily against a floating crystal, her fingertips entwined with star and moon magic threads, monitoring the fluctuations of abyssal demonic energy within a hundred miles.
Her delicate brows furrowed slightly.
"Here we go again..." she murmured to herself.
Not long after Mark's team entered, several familiar auras of lower-level demon gods would sneak up near the spatial passage she had created, like hyenas in the shadows.
They didn't attack the passage; rather, they seemed to be... on guard, or... monitoring.
Even more strangely, these auras would often quietly disappear after the team encountered the "delivery demon".
Ellen's Star Moon Magic can sense the powerful magical tides and spatial disturbances, but it cannot penetrate the deep barrier of the abyssal demonic energy to see the specific actions of those demon gods, nor can it smell the special fragrance that is about to waft from the demonic serpent's corpse.
"What tricks are these abyssal demons playing?" Her fingertips unconsciously tapped the starlight-infused black and gold, causing it to shimmer. "That kid Mark, he better not mess things up..."
Of course, she didn't know that Mark and the others would prepare a delicious demon god feast after each hunt of a lower-level demon god, and that most of the feast would be left in the Abyss Demon Realm.
It's not that Mark and his friends didn't think of bringing Eileen some "takeout".
However, after witnessing Mark use his seven-colored black light magic to cook, Eileen resolutely refused to allow Mark to use his Soul Harmonizer abilities when cooking for her.
Therefore, Ellen naturally didn't get a share of the delicacies from these lower-ranking demons.
After all, Mark himself wouldn't dare eat the demon god without using the Soul Harmonizer's abilities to cook it.
Inside the crevice, Mark was skillfully handling Salas's enormous snake body.
The seven-colored black light, like the sharpest kitchen knife, easily peeled away the tough snake skin that had lost its divinity, revealing the snow-white snake meat with its fine texture and pure energy.
Monica handed over the Abyss Spice packet she had prepared beforehand. They had now crossed thousands of miles across the border of the Abyss Spice, and she was collecting more and more of it.
Mark's magical delicacies are naturally becoming more and more tempting.
"The usual?" Monica asked, watching Mark use magic to coat the snake meat and sprinkle on the seasoning.
The spicy and salty aromas, neutralized by the iridescent black light, strangely blended with the energy of the snake meat itself.
“Hmm.” Mark nodded, quickly cutting the snake carcass into pieces, marinating it, setting up the pot, and starting the fire. “We can’t waste such a large snake carcass. Let’s make friends with the demons in the Demon Realm.”
He glanced at the large amount of snake meat that remained.
"As for Sister Ellen... never mind, she doesn't eat this."
Enzo swallowed hard, watching the snake meat gradually turn golden and fragrant in the magic-encased earth fire: "What a pity that Ellen, the boss, won't get to taste it! Boss Mark, with your skills, I dare say, even if you were a heretic, the Holy Light would have to take you as a follower again after eating you!"
Soon, a pot of "Abyss Salt and Pepper Snake Segments," with its domineering aroma and unique spiciness combined with pure energy, was cooked.
The four members of the team, along with Xiao Mu, enjoyed a hearty meal. Abundant energy and a slight sense of purification filled their bodies once again, further enhancing their adaptability to the Demon Realm.
After a hearty meal, looking at the remaining half pot of golden and tempting snake segments, Mark followed the same method, digging a pit, wrapping it in tarpaulin, and burying it, all in one smooth motion.
That fragrance, so deadly to the demons of the abyss, once again sank into the scorched earth like invisible bait.
"Withdraw!" Mark clapped his hands.
The starlight and moonlight shone again, and the team disappeared.
Shortly after they left, the demonic mist in that area began to surge violently.
Several familiar, terrifying shadows suddenly descended, their violent pressure instantly clearing the area.
"Roar! This time it's 'Salt and Pepper Salas'!" the Ice Crystal Giant Lizard Demon roared, its huge claws eagerly digging through the soil and grabbing the oilcloth wrapping.
The other octopus demon used its tentacles to curl up a large piece of snake meat and stuff it into its mouth, its satisfied hiss echoing in the soul.
"Hiss...Delicious! The power...is loosening! Even more...exciting than the last 'Fried Odom'! That chef...must be protected!"
