Chapter 130 What's under the desk? Answer: A fox. Look...

Looking at the man sitting at the desk, openly provoking her, Pei Qing's lips curled into a playful smile. Her index finger traced circles up the man's long, full thighs.

"With me?"

Yudu's breathing became erratic. He gently bit his lip, his delicate Adam's apple bobbing up and down. His fingertips pressed against the table until they turned white, and his toes were pointed straight.

“Yes, cough,” Yudu was startled by his own hoarse voice as soon as he opened his mouth. He coughed twice in an attempt to cover up the sudden surge of panic.

If Pei Qing still doesn't understand after being hinted at to this extent, then she's incredibly foolish.

"Okay, then you absolutely mustn't call a halt later." A scorching light slowly rose in the eyes of the black-haired woman A, exceptionally bright.

"Um...okay, no..." Yudu swallowed, his usually eloquent mouth seemingly frozen, suddenly unable to say anything, only able to utter a few indistinct monosyllables.

"Um, no, what I mean is... um!"

Pei Qing smiled, then suddenly leaned forward and kissed those bright red lips that were trying to say something to ease the awkwardness.

The office was completely silent, except for the soft smacking sounds of their lips meeting.

"Ugh...no...ugh, I can't breathe...wait!" Yudu was pressed onto the table, his shirt wide open, revealing a large expanse of his honey-colored skin. His two long, straight legs, forcefully pressed against Pei Qing's sides, kicked wildly, conveying a plea for mercy.

After the kiss, the man, his red hair disheveled, slumped back on the desk, panting heavily. Pei Qing observed his expression, then reached out to wipe the glistening tears from his lips, repeatedly touching them until that small patch of skin was rubbed raw.

She leaned down again, her black hair falling to the side of the man's neck. Their breaths mingled, and the woman's fingertips explored and roamed freely, peeling away the outer decorations layer by layer, revealing specks of purplish-red.

With a crisp "click," the buckle on the leather pants fell to the ground and was immediately covered by a light, fluttering piece of fabric of the same color.

...

The office was well soundproofed, and with the addition of a mental energy shield, the two moved their battlegrounds without restraint, from the desk to the wardrobe, from the wardrobe to the sofa, from the sofa to the door panel, and finally from the door panel back to the desk.

Yudu was placed on the windowsill to rest, his two limp arms draped weakly over Pei Qing's shoulders, his lips slightly parted, red and swollen. Dark red, damp strands of hair clung to his cheeks like strands of congealed, dried blood, adding to his disheveled charm.

After changing locations so many times, Pei Qing finally felt that the desk was the most suitable. Putting aside everything else, the height and size were just right.

Since the two were of similar height, one of them would always feel uncomfortable in a cramped and low space, so they simply decided to make their home on the desk.

“Ha, that’s enough… no…” Yudu turned his head with difficulty, trying to stop someone from leaning in again.

Pei Qian pressed his head down and whispered in the man's ear, "You asked for this yourself, so now that you've got it, you should accept it. Don't stop."

"Wait... um! Haha, I was wrong, I really know I was wrong..." Yudu's cheeks flushed, and he couldn't help but beg for forgiveness.

“Wrong—” What’s the use? Before Pei Qing could finish speaking, a rhythmic knocking sounded at the door.

"Knock knock knock".

A staff member's voice came from outside the door, "Assistant Pei, there are some documents here that you need to check."

Both of them stiffened, and even their breathing became much weaker.

"Shh." Pei Qing was the first to react, raising a finger at the man on the table before removing her mental energy shield.

"Ahem, just a moment."

After saying that, Pei Qing quickly lowered her voice, "Hurry up and find a place to hide."

Yudu moved with lightning speed, flowing smoothly from the tabletop to under it like a pool of liquid, using the tabletop to conceal his figure.

Pei Qing straightened her clothes, smoothed her messy hair, and kicked the pants at her feet under the table.

After everything was ready, Pei Qing cleared her throat and said, "Ahem, come in."

The staff member pushed open the door and was about to place a stack of documents on the empty desk when she noticed a damp spot. She asked in surprise, "Hey, why is there water on this desk?"

"Ah, this? I accidentally spilled water on the table just now, and I was just about to clean it up. Hey, Xiao Wang," Pei Qing said, feigning composure as she sat in her office chair, glancing at the other person's name tag, "Why don't you put the documents on the sofa first? I'll be there in a bit..."

A moist, burning sensation came from under the table, and Pei Qing subconsciously let out a soft groan before immediately suppressing it.

"That bastard Youdu!!!" Pei Qing took a deep breath, suppressing the agitation in her heart.

"Assistant Pei, are you alright?" Xiao Wang took a few steps forward with concern, seemingly wanting to check on her condition.

Seeing that the other person was about to see something bad if they took another step forward, Pei Qing quickly waved her hand, "Haha, it's nothing, it's nothing. I just accidentally bumped my leg. I'll be fine in a bit, hehe."

"Okay." Xiao Wang felt that something was not quite right, but since she was a subordinate and her boss had said it was fine, she couldn't say anything more.

"Do you need me to call the logistics staff to clean it up?" Xiao Wang asked.

"Ugh, cough cough," Pei Qing's forehead was covered in sweat, her fist pressed against her lips, "No need, I can take care of it myself," she said, forcing a kind smile, then kicked Youdu hard.

The kick seemed to have hit something terrible, and the man couldn't help but gasp.

Pei Qing pursed her lips awkwardly, "Xiao Wang, is there anything else? If not, you can go out now."

"Ah, okay." Xiao Wang forced a smile and took a barely perceptible half-step back. Just now, she probably thought she heard a third person breathing near the boss's desk.

Haha, that must be your imagination. You wouldn't do something this big in broad daylight, would you? You Celestial Dragons are truly terrifying!

Thinking about some of the rumors surrounding Assistant Pei before he joined the company, Xiao Wang felt he couldn't stay any longer; he had a feeling that if he stayed any longer, he would be silenced...

Watching Xiao Wang flee in a panic, not daring to linger for even a second, Pei Qing sighed deeply. Her lifelong reputation and her good image! She had only been working for less than half a day when that bastard Youdu ruined it! It's okay, it's okay, she won't be here for long anyway, it's okay, it's okay... Pei Qing finally managed to comfort herself, but after delivering some documents and returning, she broke down again.

Although the employees in the work area all had their heads down, pretending to be busy with their work, her overly sensitive nature still faithfully told her that everyone was actually casting gossipy glances at her from behind.

If those gazes were arrows, her back would probably be riddled with thorns by now.

Pei Qing fled back to her office, only to find the culprit calmly putting on his clothes. She was furious.

"You did that on purpose, didn't you!" Pei Qing angrily pinned the person down.

"What? What just happened?" Yudu pretended to be clueless.

"What do you mean, 'what happened'? You know perfectly well what despicable things you just did." Pei Qing grabbed the man's collar, a sinister smile spreading across her face.

Yu Du smiled, his eyelashes curving like crescent moons. He suddenly kissed Pei Qing as if to soothe her hair, his moist amber eyes as sweet as honey. "Okay, don't be angry. I just couldn't control myself. Please forgive me this time."

"What exactly is it that you haven't finished saying? You've been trying to figure this out for so long, you should be done by now." Looking at Youdu's still trembling legs, Pei Qing, being kind and generous, decided not to bother with this bastard; business was more important.

“Hmm, indeed,” Yudu said, his buttocks dangling in the air as he sat precariously on the sofa. He dared not sit down completely, as it was really painful. “I’m sure.”

“The fluctuations emitted by that special energy powder are very similar to the feeling you give me. You may not realize it yourself, but when you do some intense exercise, yes, I mean this,” Yudu glanced at the desk, “you emit similar energy fluctuations.”

"So you suspect that the appearance of those things is related to me." Pei Qing raised an eyebrow.

“Well, yes and no,” Yudu added meticulously. “To be precise, you might be of the same origin, so you should understand what I mean.”

Pei Qing stood up and looked at the sky outside the window. The sky was very blue, and birds could be seen flying by. It was a rare clear day recently.

The connection between the Zerg and the Assimilates, the connection between the Zerg and the special energy crystals, the similarities between myself and the special energy fluctuations... these chaotic and seemingly unrelated clues are connected together, silently weaving a huge web, and everything seems to indicate that I am the key node in this giant web.

What exactly do these energy sources represent? What role do I play in them? What do the guys hiding in the shadows want to achieve by going to such lengths?

The once clear path has become chaotic again. If I cannot find the other half of the lost energy source, what will I face? Death, or something else unknown?

She could no longer trust Feng Lin; it was of no help to her. There must be some things hidden deep within, and even Feng Lin was being influenced without her realizing it.

Pei Qian had a strange premonition that the one who would drive the change was about to emerge.

“I’m leaving,” Yudu said, shutting down his personal terminal with a worried look on his face. “The number of Zerg on the border has increased again. I hope this peace talk will go smoothly.”

Pei Qing didn't answer, leaning back in her chair, seemingly lost in thought. Seeing her lack of response, You Du didn't speak further, silently closing the door and leaving.

No matter what tomorrow brings, we still need to live today.

Two days passed in the blink of an eye. Pei Qing was forced to absorb a lot of federal political matters. She walked out of the office building in a daze, feeling like her head was about to explode.

"Ding-dong!" The personal terminal emitted a message notification sound; it was from Feng Lin.

[Feng: Get ready, the Zerg envoy will be holding peace talks with us at the Federal Parliament Building tomorrow. I'll send someone to pick you up shortly.]

She seemed to have sent some other message, but Pei Qing was too lazy to check it. It was all pointless to pay attention to this or that; all her efforts were destined to be in vain. A certain premonition in her mind grew stronger.

The special energy crystals have been delivered, but the research institute is still making little progress. Pei Qing has been extremely busy these past few days and simply couldn't stay there to assist with the research; she only left some samples before hurriedly departing.

Some things are already set in stone, and no amount of effort can change them.

"I'm so tired," Pei Qing said, sitting down on the steps and picking up a fallen leaf.

Autumn has arrived.
