Chapter 81 An Abnormal Status Occurs! Old Friends Reunited! (Bug Fix) ...
In the kitchen, a quiet atmosphere tinged with unease permeated the air.
"My hand?" Pei Qing blinked, not forgetting to stuff another bite of cake into her mouth. Her hand? What's wrong with her hand? Why are you suddenly talking about her hand?
Fear filled Helivin's eyes. He struggled to suppress his emotions and spoke again in a trembling voice, "Your hand... disappeared..."
"How is that possible? What are you saying—" Pei Qing suddenly realized something was wrong. The angle of the fork in front of her was strange; it wasn't the usual gripping posture, but rather as if it were being dragged by something.
She mentally commanded to raise her arm, but found that she could no longer feel its presence.
There were only two puddles of black, viscous liquid on the table. The one on the right had a fork attached to it, and a piece of cake was on top of the fork.
When did this happen?! Why didn't she realize it at all? Why did this happen? Pei Qian forced herself to calm down and began to examine the other parts of her body. She found that only her arm was missing for the time being; everything else was fine.
Pei Qing breathed a sigh of relief and began trying to reassemble her arms. However, no matter how hard she tried, her arms remained fluid and unchanged.
"How could this be..." she muttered to herself, her mind racing, trying to figure out where things had gone wrong and when this had last happened.
Pei Qing stared intently at the black fluid. It was in the lab, she remembered—it was in that prison, after she touched the energy crystal. But this time she hadn't touched anything similar to the energy crystal, so how did it turn out like this again?
If it's not because of the energy crystal, then what is it? Seeing Pei Qing remain silent, Hilliwen suddenly became anxious and hugged her, "It's okay, Qing, it doesn't matter what you become!"
Pei Qing was speechless. Was this sudden confession a little strange? Now wasn't the time to talk about these things, was it? Touching Hilly's body, a sudden thought flashed through Pei Qing's mind, and the dark fluid climbed up his waist.
I don't know if I can use that ability in this state. If I can, things aren't too bad yet...
After struggling for a minute, Pei Qing clutched her throbbing head and decided to stop. Every time she tried to invade a human body, it felt like a thousand steel needles were constantly stabbing her in the mental sea of her brain—and not only were they stabbing her, but she couldn't even successfully invade! She was absolutely furious!
The situation was really too troublesome. Pei Qing wanted to cover her head, but when she came to her senses, everything went black. She had forgotten that she no longer had hands.
This isn't a solution either. Pei Qing returned to her bedroom dejectedly. She shouldn't stay downstairs looking like this, or she might scare the guests.
Since she couldn't condense it into an arm, she could at least retract it, right? Fortunately, Pei Qing succeeded this time, and the fluid successfully retracted into her body. Being disabled was better than being a monster, right? If all else failed, she could at least get herself two mechanical arms as a temporary solution. That snake-orc shopkeeper's mechanical tail was so cool; she had been envious of it for a long time.
It wasn't a big deal, Pei Qing thought, lying in bed, trying to reassure herself. "It's just losing two arms, it's okay, it's okay, as long as I'm alive." But Pei Qing couldn't stop worrying. Better safe than sorry. If one part of her body was lost, she could replace it with a mechanical part as a temporary solution. But what if her entire body disappeared one day? Would she have to spend her whole life inside a mechanical body? The thought made her feel suffocated.
Pei Qing frowned, damn it, Shen Rong'an had disappeared again at a time like this. He probably left while she was eating cake. In times of emergency, all the people who might know the reason or could help her vanished. Damn it.
Pei Qing had no time to think about any other messy things. What could be more important than her impending 'death'? The thought of her miserable life without a human body made Pei Qing want to wail.
"Knock knock." A knock came from the door. "A-Qian, a guest wants to see you. Can you come out for a moment?"
“I won’t see them,” Pei Qing said weakly. “How can I see any guests in this state? Just cancel all the orders.”
“Ah Qing, that guest…” Hillivan was still rambling on, “He’s not seeing anyone, get out!” Pei Qing got annoyed and threw a pillow at him, which fell to the ground with a dull thud.
"Pei Qing," a calm, somewhat familiar female voice came, "What if I told you I know how to help you solve your problem?"
That voice… Pei Qing’s ears twitched, and she began searching her memory for the corresponding face.
"Hey! You stinky Pei Qing! How long has it been and you've already forgotten about the two of us! Hurry up and come out, my legs are getting sore from standing!" Another familiar, noisy voice appeared, knocking on the cracks deep in Pei Qing's memory.
"Feng Qi!" Pei Qing opened the door with her tentacles, her expression excited. "Long time no see! How did you find this place!"
Feng Qi wore a peaceful smile, seemingly unsurprised by Pei Qing's strange appearance, and reached out to hug her. "Long time no see."
"Hey, hey, hey! Pei Qing, can't you at least say hello to me? If it weren't for me, Feng Qi, I wouldn't have been able to find you! You're as annoying as ever!" Turansen jumped up and down with his arms crossed, occasionally cursing Pei Qing.
Pei Qing led the two into the bedroom, and Chu Zhi automatically poured two glasses of water and handed them to them.
"Wow, that's amazing..." Turansen's eyes lit up when he saw the tentacle. "It's so amazing! Pei Qing, could you give me a small section to study?"
“No,” Pei Qian said dismissively, withdrawing her hand and refusing him without hesitation.
"Feng Qi, is it true that you said you have a way to solve my physical condition? And why did my body become like this?"
"Don't worry, there is indeed a way, but you need to come with us to a place first."
"At this point, what are you waiting for! Where are we going? Let's go, let's go, I can't wait any longer!" Before she finished speaking, Pei Qing hurriedly grabbed the other two and left the bedroom.
As soon as they came downstairs, they saw a woman sitting imposingly on the sofa. Upon noticing them, she said in a hoarse voice, "You've finally come down. The boss has been waiting for a long time."
"What are you doing here?" Pei Qing made no attempt to hide her confusion. The person sitting on the sofa was none other than the Red-Eyed Boss.
"Please," the red-eyed leader didn't reply, but simply got up and went out, silently opening the car door.
Pei Qing and the others got into the car, and the hovercar sped towards its destination.
“Hey,” Turansen, sitting on the far right, nudged Pei Qing a few times, “Aren’t you even a little curious about how we found you?”
"Yeah, why? My appearance has changed." Hearing this, Pei Qing became genuinely curious. Since it had happened so suddenly, she was completely preoccupied with the changes in her body, selectively ignoring other questions.
"Hehe, speaking of which, we really have to thank your old flame. If it weren't for him, we might not have found you so quickly." Turansen chuckled slyly.
"Old flame? Which one? I really didn't know you two knew me... uh." Pei Qing really couldn't think of anyone who could be related to these two.
"It's a secret. In short, he approached us directly, asking to cooperate. As soon as he heard about you, Feng Qi immediately agreed. You don't know, although your appearance can be changed, your spiritual energy fluctuations cannot be changed. Moreover, your energy fluctuations are very special and unique. With a concrete plan, finding you was only a matter of time." Turansen proudly raised her head, and Pei Qing echoed her praises, making her head even higher.
The group chatted casually for less than ten minutes before the hovercar stopped in a familiar place.
Red-eyed trading venues.
Is it related to Red Eyes? The underground market... Could it be Yudu? This guy does have some unclear connections with the Federation, and it's possible he knows Feng Qi and the other guy, but the question is, if he's sure of Pei Qing's location, why doesn't he come to find her? Pei Qing still remembers when Yudu disguised himself as a medical worker and broke into the prison to try and take her away.
Could it be Udoh?
With this question in mind, Pei Qing followed the red-eyed leader back into the trading hall. Unlike before when she sneaked in, this time she entered openly as a distinguished guest.
Pei Qing and the others walked through the long corridor and stopped in front of a security door. The red-eyed leader entered the password, and with a "beep," the security door slowly opened.
"Please come in."
The room was filled with various instruments and medicines that Pei Qing couldn't name. On the second to last shelf, she even saw the fluorescent blue medicine that she had been injected with before.
The group arrived at the deepest part of the room. Through a semi-transparent partition, they could vaguely see the back of a man sitting in a chair. Even through the partition, they could tell that he was a man with a good physique.
Tsk, why does this flamboyant pose look so familiar?
Pei Qian frowned and tentatively called out, "Gu... Fei?"
"Sizzle—" The semi-transparent partition opened automatically, revealing the flamboyant figure in the suit to the three of them.
"Sigh, you recognized me so quickly..." A voice tinged with sorrow rang out. The person spun their chair, and a cold and beautiful face gradually appeared, a dark glint flashing in the metal frame of their glasses.
Gu Fei stood up, a smile playing on his lips. His pointed leather shoes clicked on the ground, making a crisp sound as he approached, the crimson soles of his shoes faintly visible through his movements.
Those dark green eyes seemed unchanged, yet they appeared even calmer and deeper than before, carrying the nonchalant and determined air unique to cold-blooded predators.
The man slowly walked in, and the gloomy aura around him made Feng Qi and his companion involuntarily take a half step back. But they quickly realized what was happening and stood guard on either side of Pei Qing.
Pei Qing didn't seem to have any particular feelings. She glanced at the two of them with a puzzled look, but didn't object to the protection. Gu Fei's timing—why did he have to come at this time? It really made one suspicious.
"What do you two mean by this? Are you worried that I might do something? We are allies now, so this kind of defensiveness is really disheartening."
Gu Fei stopped in his tracks, his tone calm and gentle, as if he were genuinely expressing simple doubt. He hid his trembling fingertips behind his back, his eyes concealing a burning excitement.
Only he knew that at this moment, the pheromones within his body were almost uncontrollable. They were all overjoyed, wanting to rush out of his body and pounce on the person in front of him, to surround him...
Unfortunately, it's not possible right now.
It's not time to enjoy ourselves yet; there are some things that urgently need to be addressed.
