Chapter 21 Send Her Home
Lin Shutang originally wanted to take a taxi back, but before he could say anything, he heard the man's deep voice: "Send Miss Lin home first."
It had just rained, and Li Yansheng held Chen Runling in his arms.
The assistant got out of the car and opened the door for him: "Okay."
After Li Yansheng got in the car, the door was not closed immediately. The assistant stood at the door waiting for Lin Shutang to get in.
Lin Shutang: "Thank you."
"Uncle, can I go to school tomorrow afternoon?"
"If your parents agree, I have no objection."
"Then call your mother quickly. I want to tell her right now. She will definitely agree."
Li Yansheng was very patient with the junior Chen Runling. He immediately dialed Mrs. Chen's number as she wished, and then handed the phone to the little girl.
Finally, after much persuasion from the little girl, the tutoring time was changed to the afternoon.
The house Lin Shutang rented was near Peking University, in an old residential complex for 3,500 yuan, with two bedrooms and a living room, over 50 square meters, and public water and electricity.
For Lin Shutang, the price-performance ratio is very high.
The community is decades old, with outdated facilities, low walls, and a rusty iron gate that is only half open, so cars can't get in.
Lin Shutang: "It's only a few steps from here. I'll just get off here."
As he was speaking, two men appeared in front of the car. They were supporting each other, their steps were unsteady, and they looked like they had just been drinking.
One of them had only one slipper left on his foot.
He took a few steps and fell to the left onto the front of the car, and the other man also leaned towards him.
The man barely stood up straight, squinted his eyes to look at the car, and then kicked the tire: "Damn it, why is this broken car blocking the door? Are you sick?"
After the two left, the assistant said, "Ms. Lin, I'd better take you in."
In this situation, Lin Shutang didn't try to be stubborn and say no.
"That's troublesome." Lin Shutang had tried this door before, and the latch was a little difficult to pull out. She lowered the car window and stuck her head out, "Uncle, could you please open the door?"
It wasn't too late yet, the lights in the duty room were on.
The attendant was a man in his fifties, who came out with a coat casually draped over his body.
I was about to curse, "Can't you drive?", but when I saw the car logo, I swallowed the words back.
He had seen a car with a B in the middle of the wings before, and it was called a Bentley. It was very expensive. He couldn't afford to offend such a person.
After opening the door, the attendant looked inside the car curiously when the car drove past him.
It’s too dark to see clearly.
However, he still had some impression of the girl who had just asked to open the door, the one who had just moved into Building 2.
I didn't expect that people living in such a place could be related to such people.
Lin Shutang directed Li Yansheng's assistant to drive the car to the basement of Unit 1, Building 2. The words on the door were no longer clearly visible, but the outlines were enough to make out the general outline.
The street lights downstairs were warm yellow, and a group of mosquitoes were flying around in the gray air. There was a row of electric bikes parked nearby, and there was also one parked in the stairwell at the unit door.
Li Yansheng glanced around calmly through the front windshield and saw something that looked like a fire hydrant in the corner. He didn't know how long it had expired. There seemed to be a dozen cardboard boxes stuck between the fire hydrant and the wall.
After Lin Shutang opened the door and got out of the car, he stood beside it and said, "Thank you for taking me back today. It's getting late, so I won't keep you for tea."
This was said to the man in the back row.
Li Yansheng lowered the car window.
The girl was standing with the light behind her, her hair shrouded in a light golden halo. Her expression was not very clear, but she had a hazy beauty.
"Go up!"
The high beam was on towards the unit door, casting the girl's slender silhouette on the wall, which then gradually became smaller towards a point and finally disappeared.
