Chapter 266 Falling into the Water

Chapter 266 Falling into the Water

About two minutes after the waiter left, Lin Shutang picked up her wine glass and took a few sips. Then, about ten minutes later, she placed the glass on the coffee table next to her and leaned back on the sofa, seemingly falling asleep.

Zhao Lanzhi had been hiding not far away and observing the situation here. When she saw Lin Shutang fainted, she tiptoed over, picked up Lin Shutang and wanted to take him away quietly.

The person who fainted was quite heavy. Lin Shutang almost pressed his entire body against Zhao Lanzhi, making it difficult for her to move.

Zhao Lanzhi: "How come the damn girl is so heavy? I should have found a helper earlier."

After taking just a few steps, Zhao Lanzhi felt a bump from behind. In an instant, she lost her balance and both fell into the water. Zhao Lanzhi couldn't swim, so she desperately flapped her wings in the water, calling for help.

"Someone fell into the water. She doesn't look like she can swim. Hurry and save her."

"There's another one over there, she seems unconscious, hurry up and get her out."

Li Yansheng had a bad feeling when he heard the news that someone had fallen into the water. He didn't have time to explain to the bosses, so he put down his glass and left. Sure enough, when he arrived at the back garden, he found Lin Shutang lying unconscious on a recliner, with Zhang Wanxin covering her with a towel.

Li Yansheng walked over and bent down to check on Lin Shutang. The little girl was soaked and her bund-up hair was loose.

In the dimly lit night, he could tell her face was pale and bloodless. Suddenly, a chill ran through his body.

Zhang Wanxin noticed his worry and anger and moved aside.

Chen Jinyao, who followed, asked his wife in confusion, "What's going on?"

Zhang Wanxin shook her head. "I'm not sure. When I arrived, I saw Shutang in the water. Oh, and there was another person in the water with her. But that person was still conscious when he came up, so it shouldn't be a big deal."

As she said this, she turned around to check on the other person, but she looked around and didn't see anyone.

Seeing this, what else did they not understand? Today's incident was probably related to another person who fell into the water.

Zhang Wanxin said angrily and anxiously, "It was so chaotic just now that I didn't have time to see the man's face clearly. I hope the surveillance camera captured it."

Upon hearing this, Li Yansheng ordered his subordinates behind him, "Tell someone to seal off the banquet hall."

After saying this, he picked up Lin Shutang from the recliner and placed his hands on her bare shoulders, feeling the coldness. He lowered his head and saw that the person in his arms seemed even paler, and the tightness in his chest was even more pronounced.

When Li Yansheng reached the door, he saw a man standing there, seemingly arguing with a security guard. Noticing them, the man quickly wrapped the towel around his head tighter, as if feeling guilty.

Li Yansheng looked at the man with a cold look in his eyes. He didn't stop walking, but his tone was cold as he said, "Send him to the police station."

Fan Sizhu was originally wondering why the boss did this, but then he realized something and immediately stepped forward: "Okay, boss."

Zhao Lanzhi hadn't expected to be caught even though she was about to leave. Thinking of her sick son, she struggled to speak: "Why are you arresting me? Let me go. This is illegal."

Fan Sizhuo's eyes were filled with impatience. He grabbed her hand a little harder, sneered, and said, "Who is breaking the law? You should go and tell the police!"

Hearing this, Zhao Lanzhi's face became uglier than before, and her struggle to resist became more intense: "Let go, I didn't do anything, why should I go to the police station?"

"What are you afraid of if you haven't done it?"

Li Yansheng didn't let go of Lin Shutang until they got in the car. He unbuttoned his suit jacket, wrapped Lin Shutang in it, and held her in his arms.

Fan Sizhuo thought it was unsafe for his boss to drive in such a situation, so he handed Zhao Lanzhi over to his subordinates and immediately ran to the car. However, as soon as he sat in the passenger seat, he noticed that the atmosphere seemed amiss.

He glanced in the rearview mirror, stunned for a few seconds, then got out of the car with great tact.
