Chapter 326: The Road to Growth

Chapter 326: The Road to Growth

Almost at the moment when Lin Shutang had put his clothes in order, a sound came from the direction of the kitchen. Lin Shutang turned his head and saw his aunt standing at the door with something in her hand, her eyes looking in their direction.

Lin Shutang stood there in a daze for a few seconds, then his facial temperature quickly rose. He glared at Li Yansheng and went upstairs.

Seeing that Lin Shutang seemed angry, the nanny walked over nervously and asked, "Sir, the wife seems unhappy. Is there something I did wrong?"

Li Yansheng smiled and said in a casual tone, "It's okay, go ahead and do your work."

Seeing that he looked relaxed, the aunt felt relieved and continued to work.

When Li Yansheng opened the door, Lin Shutang was sitting in front of the dressing table, her face flushed. He walked over and stood behind her. Then, he reached out and put his arm around her from behind, glancing at her in the mirror, where she looked clearly annoyed.

After watching for a few seconds, seeing that Lin Shutang had no intention of paying attention to her, Li Yansheng leaned over, put her head on her right shoulder, and then kissed her on the cheek and said, "Baby, Auntie didn't see anything!"

It was a very light kiss, meant to coax someone.

However, in this situation, Lin Shutang didn't listen at all. He just thought Li Yansheng was just trying to fool him and didn't believe him at all. So, he turned his head away and said nothing.

Seeing this, Li Yansheng moved his hand down and placed it on her abdomen: "Don't be angry. It's not good to be angry when you're pregnant."

The warmth penetrated the fabric of his clothes. After hearing what he said, Lin Shutang became even more angry: "You only care about your children. Go away. I don't want to talk to you now."

When Li Yansheng heard this, he was at a loss whether to laugh or cry.

I didn't expect that this little girl, who was always gentle and easy to talk to, would also have such a moment. The saying that pregnant women tend to overthink things really makes sense.

Li Yansheng didn't find Lin Shutang like this unreasonable, and he even felt that she was fresh and cute.

Li Yansheng was always very patient with her little tempers. He would be surprised, and occasionally he would find it difficult to understand her sudden thoughts or emotions. But this incomprehension was not accompanied by negative emotions, nor did it feel unreasonable.

He is older than her, and many things that seem small or common to him are big or unusual things to her. They are normal things, and this is a stage she must go through on her way to growth.

Li Yansheng had no desire to push Lin Shutang, to make her change quickly. Her past had been hard enough, and she had already grown up much faster than other girls her age. Now, with him by her side, she could slow down and take in the sights along the way. Whether they were beautiful or unpleasant, taking in more of them was good for her; there was no need to pressure her into anything quick.

Realizing she was mistaking his thoughts, Li Yansheng placed his hands on either side of her cheeks, gently straightening her face and letting her look into the mirror, meeting his gaze. Then he spoke, "I care about the child, but I care about you even more. Honey, remember, I love this thing because I love you. Whether it was before, now, or in the future, you will always be above it."

When he said this, his eyes were too serious, and his pupils were so deep that Lin Shutang felt that he would be sucked in at the next moment.

It would be too fake to say she wasn't moved by such a direct confession. She could even feel the accelerated beating of her chest. So, she curled her fingertips together and tried her best to maintain a calm expression. After a long while, she finally came to her senses and a smile finally appeared on her lips.

She patted Li Yansheng's hand on her neck and said, "Alright, I'll trust you this time. But don't do this again. I was lucky this time because Auntie didn't see it. If you do this again next time, I won't pay any attention to you."

Seeing his wife threatening him, but without any trace of annoyance in her tone, Li Yansheng smiled and said, "Okay."

Lin Shutang's stomach made a slight rumble. She blushed for a moment, but quickly pretended to be calm. She placed her hand on her stomach and looked at Li Yansheng: "The baby said it's hungry."

Li Yansheng's eyes were full of tenderness. He placed his hand on her lower back and said, "Okay, take the two babies downstairs for dinner."

Hearing this, Lin Shutang pursed his lips and smiled faintly, but didn't say anything else.
