When Jiang Hua woke up, Ji Kexin was still asleep. With plenty of time before class, Jiang Hua turned on her computer and browsed Sakura for a while.
For some reason, Jiang Hua always felt dizzy and had a throbbing headache, which was particularly uncomfortable.
Actually, Jiang Hua went to the sink, filled her glass with water, and washed her face, finally managing to stay awake. When she came out, Ji Kexin was already awake, but Ji Kexin liked to stay in bed.
Upon hearing the sound, Ji Kexin lazily turned over and opened her eyes a crack.
"Drawing, what time is it?" Ji Kexin had just woken up, her voice slightly hoarse. She mumbled while hugging the blanket, clearly unwilling to get up.
"Get up! Class starts in half an hour." Jiang Hua shook her head, crossed her arms, and smiled.
Ji Kexin is such a lazybones; I've never seen her get up early even once.
"Alright, I'll get up. Classes, classes, it's all the time, can't a person get a good night's sleep?" Ji Kexin struggled to get up and dragged herself to wash up.
Seeing this, Jiang Hua smiled helplessly. She had said this many times, but she had never seen her skip class.
After Ji Kexin finished getting ready, the two of them went to the cafeteria together and bought some breakfast.
Walking on the cobblestone path, Jiang Hua nestled against Ji Kexin. Her legs felt weak, and she almost fell.
Ji Kexin took it as her being coquettish and didn't realize that anything was wrong.
"Huahua, get up for a second, it's so heavy," Ji Kexin complained. Although Jiang Hua wasn't heavy, it had been quite a struggle for her all the way here.
"Kexin, you despise me." Jiang Hua stared at her with wide eyes, looking like a little wife who had been abandoned by Ji Kexin.
"No, don't look at me like that, I'm scared, isn't being scared enough?" Ji Kexin looked away, unable to bear it any longer, and dragged Jiang Hua, who was leaning against her, with difficulty.
Jiang Hua quickly curled the corners of her lips. The morning sun was relatively gentle, and it didn't feel too hot on her skin. However, she felt a little down because she had no energy left in her body.
Because they were dragging Jiang Hua, who was practically boneless and couldn't walk, they were gloriously late. Ji Kexin stood at the door and glanced at the teacher on the podium who was speaking eloquently.
Jiang Hua gave her a look, and Ji Kexin, receiving the signal, resignedly raised her voice.
"Report!" This shout immediately drew everyone's attention. Dozens of eyes turned to look at Ji Kexin.
"Come in." The teacher's face wasn't very happy, but she still let them in.
Because they arrived late, only the first two rows of seats were left in the classroom. Under the teacher's murderous gaze, Ji Kexin helped Jiang Hua to sit in the second row near the aisle.
The teacher was a middle-aged woman who had taught many classes of students. She was dressed rigidly, and her face looked like someone owed money, making everyone she looked at uncomfortable.
Ji Kexin secretly rolled her eyes in her mind and pulled out her notebook to listen to the lecture.
Jiang Hua braced herself against the desk, her head spinning even more. Her lips were bloodless, and her face was deathly pale, as if it were covered in powder.
She couldn't help but want to fall asleep, but the teacher called her name.
"Jiang Hua, stand up and answer this question." The female teacher had noticed them earlier; not only were they late for class, but they were also so inattentive in her class. Ji Kexin was listening and even taking notes. But Jiang Hua clearly looked listless.
"I..." Jiang Hua couldn't even open her mouth. She hadn't been paying attention in class, so how could she know the answer to the question? Leaving aside whether she could even answer it, she said she couldn't even see the words clearly.
Those words, like monsters in a game, jumped around, their faces grotesque, and Jiang Hua even began to hallucinate.
"Draw, choose A, choose A." Ji Kexin was extremely anxious and whispered a reminder from the side.
"Choose what?" Jiang Hua couldn't hear clearly, and a fine layer of sweat had already formed on her forehead.
"I said choose A, choose A!" Ji Kexin almost yelled at her. Inadvertently, she lost control of her voice and the whole classroom heard her.
Many people were already chuckling, and some even started whispering. The classroom was noisy and chaotic, with no one paying any attention to the female teacher on the stage.
"Alright, Jiang Hua, sit down. From now on, you must listen carefully in class. No matter how smart you are, it's all for nothing if you don't listen," the female teacher said sternly, seemingly quite angry.
"Old witch." Ji Kexin muttered under her breath. It's such a small thing, but this old witch is talking like it's the end of the world.
"Especially you, Ji Kexin. Watch your mouth and respect your teachers, do you understand?" He turned his head and pointed the finger at Ji Kexin.
"Alright, let's continue the lesson now." After scolding her, the female teacher felt a little better and then began to repeat the previous points of knowledge.
"Huahua, what's wrong with you!" Ji Kexin lowered her voice, knowing that if that old witch heard her again, she would inevitably be criticized again.
Jiang Hua shook her head and said she was fine.
"Huahua, are you sick? Your hands are so cold and your face is pale." Ji Kexin didn't believe it at all. Looking at Jiang Hua's condition, she didn't seem to be alright at all.
"I'm really fine." Jiang Hua gritted her teeth and insisted, trying to appear relaxed, and smiled at Ji Kexin, but the smile looked forced no matter how you looked at it.
"Alright, stop lying to me. I'll take you to see the school doctor after class," Ji Kexin said forcefully, brooking no refusal.
Jiang Hua sighed and nodded in agreement.
As soon as the bell rang, ignoring the female teacher's glare, Ji Kexin helped Jiang Hua and hurried to the school hospital.
"Doctor, please take a look at her. She seems to be sick." Ji Kexin asked Jiang Hua to sit down and hurriedly called the doctor.
Jiang Hua closed her eyes, her mind was a complete mess, she couldn't see or hear anything.
"Your classmate has a high fever, it's 38.7 degrees Celsius." The school doctor took the thermometer down and prepared to give Jiang Hua an IV drip.
"A high fever? How could she suddenly have a high fever?" Ji Kexin couldn't help but look at Jiang Hua. How could she be so careless? Jiang Hua had looked unwell this morning.
Not only did she fail to notice, she even dragged Jiang Hua to class. Because she was late, the old witch held a grudge and called on Jiang Hua to answer a question, scolding her in the process.
"Huahua, Huahua, are you alright?" Ji Kexin gently touched Jiang Hua's hand; it was very warm.
"I, I'm fine..." Jiang Hua originally wanted to say that she was alright so that Ji Kexin wouldn't worry.
But before she could finish speaking, she lost consciousness and fainted.
"Doctor, doctor!" Ji Kexin cried out, extremely anxious.
"She just fainted, she'll be fine after the IV drip." The school doctor's tone was flat, much calmer than Ji Kexin's.
