Gu Yiming stood in the living room for a long time, repeatedly pondering Jiang En's suggestion. He glanced back at the room upstairs, his mind gradually drifting into deep thought.
Jiang En stood quietly to the side, waiting, feeling somewhat helpless. The relationship between the CEO and Miss Su was truly unsettling; it was a truly heartbreaking situation to watch. Seeing two people who clearly loved each other so much yet hurt each other so much, it was truly incomprehensible what they were thinking.
"Jiang En, I've decided, we'll do it your way!" Gu Yiming clapped his hands, his pupils flashing with a few bright lights, his mind made up. Why hadn't he thought of this great plan earlier? If he proposed, maybe Jiang Hua would stay by his side!
"Yes, President." Jiang En had seen Gu Yiming's expression was extremely unpleasant when he came downstairs. He hadn't dared to breathe loudly next to Gu Yiming, but thankfully, he had quickly thought of proposing to Miss Su. Now that he saw a smile finally appear on the president's face, he breathed a sigh of relief.
"Thank you so much, Jiang En. I'll leave this to you. Give the order, I'm going to propose to her tonight." He didn't want to wait a moment longer and hoped that tonight's proposal would be successful. This was his last chance to keep Jiang Hua by his side.
"Okay, I'll go prepare right away." Jiang En finished speaking and turned to leave the living room to make the preparations. Gu Yiming stood there, stroking his chin, tugged at his collar, and then also turned and left the living room. He had to choose the best engagement ring; this success was something Jiang Hua would never forget.
Inside the room.
Jiang Hua's face was streaked with tears, and her body began to feel weak. She slowly squatted down and hugged her arms.
"Miss, don't think too much about it." The nanny felt bad seeing her like this, and she could understand Jiang Hua's feelings to some extent. But besides comforting her, there was nothing she could do to help.
"Wipe your tears," the nanny sighed again and handed Jiang Hua a tissue.
"Thank you, but I want to be alone for a while now. Can you leave?" Jiang Hua took the tissue. She didn't want outsiders to see her cry, but after Gu Yiming left, the tears flowed like a flood that she couldn't stop.
"Alright, Miss, just call me if you need anything." The nanny glanced gently at Jiang Hua, who was squatting down, knowing that she didn't want others to see her vulnerability at the moment. So she said nothing more, quietly closed the door, and left.
After the nanny left the room, Jiang Hua finally dared to cry out loud. The sorrow in her heart seemed to flow like a river, her mind a complete mess. There were too many things she didn't want to think about, yet they were things she had to consider.
She felt unwell; the path ahead seemed so uncertain, a vast expanse of white where she couldn't see anything. Night fell silently in the blink of an eye. She didn't know how long she had been squatting on the floor; her legs were numb. Her emotions gradually calmed down, and just as she tried to stand up, her legs gave way, and she almost collapsed to the ground.
"Miss, dinner is ready. The young master wants you to come down for dinner."
"Tell Gu Yiming that I have no appetite." Jiang Hua licked her dry lips and sighed. Her heart was already filled with sorrow, so how could she feel hungry?
"Miss, please don't make things difficult for me. If you're not going to eat, please go and talk to the young master yourself." After the nanny left those words, there was silence outside the door. Jiang Hua frowned; she didn't want to go out to see him right now. But she couldn't make things difficult for the nanny, so after hesitating for a moment, she opened the door and just as she stepped out to go down the stairs, all the lights around her suddenly went out.
"Ah!" The sudden darkness instantly engulfed Jiang Hua, leaving her surrounded by pitch blackness, unable to see her own hand in front of her face. A sense of panic washed over her as she began calling out Gu Yiming's name.
“Jiang Hua, I’m here. Don’t be afraid.” Gu Yiming held her shoulders tightly, comforting her in the darkness. “Yiming, what’s going on?” Jiang Hua’s voice trembled slightly as she clung to his shoulders in the darkness. She felt goosebumps rising all over her body. She had been terrified of the dark since childhood, but now that Gu Yiming was by her side, she felt an inexplicable sense of peace.
"It's alright, the power's out here. Let's go to the yard," Gu Yiming gently comforted her. As he spoke, the nanny lit a candle and went up the stairs. The yellow candlelight shone into Jiang Hua's eyes, and she nodded gently.
Although the light helped to lessen her fear, she still clung tightly to Gu Yiming. The nanny lit candles along the way, and the three of them slowly descended the stairs, left the living room, and entered the yard.
What greeted Jiang Hua's eyes was a courtyard full of candles, arranged in a heart shape in the center. Jiang Hua was stunned and didn't react for a long time.
"My dear princess, please dance with me." The music started playing softly as she was stunned. Gu Yiming stood gently in front of her, bent down, and extended an invitation to her like a prince.
It was like a dream. Jiang Hua couldn't help but reach out and accept his invitation to dance, and they began to dance together in the courtyard. Gu Yiming's face glowed in the moonlight, making Jiang Hua's eyes somewhat dazed.
After the dance, she was slightly out of breath. Just as she was about to look at Gu Yiming, fireworks filled the sky in an instant.
She was surprised, then gazed at the fireworks in the sky with delight. The fireworks bloomed in her eyes, so beautiful.
Gu Yiming, unaware that he was holding flowers, gazed at Jiang Hua with such tenderness that she was almost drawn into a vortex of affection. To her surprise, he bent down, presented the flowers to her, and looked at her lovingly, saying, "Jiang Hua, will you marry me?"
Jiang Hua's eyes widened, as if she couldn't believe what she was seeing. The slides behind her suddenly started flashing, and she turned around in surprise to look at them.
The slideshow displayed snippets of the two people's time together, as if time had frozen in mid-air.
Jiang Hua's eyes were now brimming with tears, a warm current flowing through her heart. She covered her mouth, and tears slowly slid down her face.
Gu Yiming took out the box containing the ring from his pocket, opened it, carefully took out the ring, gently took her hand, and then put the ring on her finger.
