"Jiang Hua, I've come to apologize to you sincerely. I hope you can forgive me." Bai Zijing looked pitiful as Gu Yiming helped her up.
"Bai Zijin, you are really naive. Do you really think I'm that easy to fool? I ask you to leave here right now. Don't put on this act. I can't accept your apology. Don't make me feel bad!" Jiang Hua crossed her arms, snorted coldly, and glanced icyly at Gu Yiming's hand that was supporting her.
"Jiang Hua, how can you talk like that! Zi Jin has sincerely apologized to you, can't you forgive her?" Gu Yiming frowned deeply, somewhat displeased with Jiang Hua's attitude.
"Ha, Gu Yiming, you're really something. You're going to side with her too, aren't you? You know how she treated me before, and now you're going to believe her sweet talk too?!" Jiang Hua laughed out of anger, looking at the two people standing in front of her, a chill creeping into her heart. She stared straight into his eyes, standing there waiting for his answer.
"I was being immature before, but I won't do it again." The situation was developing in the direction Bai Zijin hoped for. On the surface, she had a pitiful expression, but in her heart, she was already extremely pleased with herself.
"Shut up." Jiang Hua looked at Bai Zijing, who had suddenly interrupted, with disgust. Her voice was like a mosquito buzzing in her ear, making her feel annoyed.
"Jiang Hua, can't you be a little more magnanimous? Why are you being so petty?" Seeing this scene, Gu Yiming had a headache. He really didn't understand why such a simple matter had to be made so complicated. Why wouldn't she soften her temper? Wouldn't it be a great thing if the two of them could reconcile?
"I'm not magnanimous enough? Why should I forgive her just because she apologized to me? Sorry, I can't learn that kind of magnanimity! Also, Bai Zijing, let me tell you, I don't know what you're thinking, and I won't accept your apology." Jiang Hua looked coldly at Gu Yiming, utterly disappointed in him. Then she turned her gaze to Bai Zijing, who was feigning pitifulness to the side.
"You're being completely unreasonable." A fire was rising in Gu Yiming's heart, and he didn't know what else to say.
"I'm just being unreasonable. If you can't stand it, take her and get out of here right now. I don't want to see her!" Jiang Hua's eyes were filled with anger, her rage beyond words. She pointed to the door, issuing an order to leave.
"Fine, you'll regret this!" Gu Yiming said angrily, pulling Bai Zijing along as they walked out. Bai Zijing turned back and gave her a smug smile.
Jiang Hua's body went limp; she knew Bai Zijing wouldn't be so kind as to apologize to her. Watching the two figures leave, her heart felt as if it were being pierced by a needle.
Outside the residence.
"I'm sorry, I caused you two to quarrel." Bai Zijing lowered her head, pretending to be very guilty.
“This isn’t your fault, you don’t need to apologize. Jiang Hua’s attitude was a bit off, I hope you won’t take it to heart, she probably needs some time to process it.” Gu Yiming sighed and rubbed his temples.
"I know, I don't blame Jiang Hua. After all, I did too many things that wronged her before, so it's normal that she doesn't forgive me right away." Bai Zijing shook her head slightly, pretending to be very sad.
Gu Yiming breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing her words. He had felt that Jiang Hua's attitude earlier was quite inappropriate. Suddenly, he remembered the time Jiang Hua had pushed Bai Zijing, and asked her with some concern, "I apologize for Jiang Hua's behavior earlier. How are you feeling now? I should take you to the hospital for a check-up."
"Okay." Bai Zijing nodded gently and rubbed her head. Gu Yiming helped her to the car door, opened it, and after she was seated, he got in and drove away.
The moment Gu Yiming stepped into the hospital, the distinctive smell of disinfectant assaulted his nostrils. He frowned; he had never liked coming to hospitals since childhood, the quiet and desolate atmosphere making him extremely uncomfortable. If it weren't for accompanying Bai Zijing for her checkup, he would never have wanted to step into this awful place.
The hospital was as quiet as ever today. Because of his special status, he didn't have to wait as long as others and could directly take Bai Zijin to see the doctor.
"How is she, doctor?" Gu Yiming asked the doctor after seeing that she had been diagnosed.
"Miss Bai is fine, but she needs to rest in the hospital for a while." The doctor handed the examination report to Gu Yiming and then smiled at him.
"Thank you, doctor!" Gu Yiming thanked Bai Zijin and then led her to the ward the doctor had given her to rest in.
"Zijin, go to bed and rest for a while. I'll go pay the bill first." Gu Yiming helped her make up the bed, and when she nodded, he took the bill and left the ward.
Bai Zijing watched him leave and was about to get into bed when her eyes fell on the phone he had just placed on the table. After a moment's thought, her eyes lit up.
She immediately took his phone, unlocked it, and found it wasn't locked, which relieved her. She opened her contacts, found Jiang Hua, and sent her a message: "I'm at the hospital now, can you come over now?"
On the other side, Jiang Hua was lying on the bed, feeling quite depressed. Suddenly, her phone screen lit up. She picked it up and saw that it was a text message from Gu Yiming. She frowned, intending to ignore it, but couldn't resist clicking on it.
When I saw the text message, my heart skipped a beat.
What happened to him? Why did he end up at the hospital? Her heart suddenly filled with anxiety. Without thinking too much, she replied with "Okay, you'll be waiting" and hurriedly got up and ran out of the room.
Seeing that she had replied to the message, Bai Zijing's lips curled up. A premeditated plan arose in her mind. She deleted the message and put her phone back in its place. "Why aren't you in bed yet?" Gu Yiming asked suspiciously when he came in and saw that she hadn't gotten into bed.
"You're fine, just rest a bit and you'll feel better." Seeing that she looked a little down, Gu Yiming assumed she was upset because she was thinking about what had just happened, so he comforted her.
"Yiming." Bai Zijing rolled her eyes and pretended to be a little unsteady on her feet. Gu Yiming saw this and quickly stepped forward to catch her as she was about to fall.
Bai Zijin reached up to his neck with both hands, and under his surprised gaze, lowered her head and kissed his lips.
