Lying on the grass, Li Younan had long since lost the anger she felt under the teaching building. Reason pulled her back to reality, and she stood up from the grass after breaking free from Jiang Kefan's hand.
Jiang Kefan felt the emptiness in his hands and felt sad. After opening his eyes, he saw Li Younan stand up and quickly stood up as well.
"Thank you, I have to go now." After saying that, Li Younan started walking without waiting for Jiang Kefan's reply. Jiang Kefan grabbed her hand and pulled her back.
"Want to leave? I haven't agreed yet. Where do you think you're going?" Jiang Kefan stared into her eyes, his tone incredibly firm. Before she could react, he pulled her towards the teaching building.
Jiang Kefan was very fast, and Li Younan could only keep up by jogging. In the end, Jiang Kefan dragged Li Younan to the teacher's office and went in without any hesitation.
Before long, the sharp-eyed Jiang Kefan spotted Teacher Xia Tian among a group of teachers, dragged her out of the office, and the three of them stood awkwardly outside.
Teacher Xia cleared her throat first, then glanced at the two people in front of her. When she saw Li Younan's half-black face, she was clearly stunned for a moment.
"Li Younan, what happened to you?" Upon hearing this, Li Younan immediately lowered his head, trying to hide his disheveled state.
Realizing that something was wrong with Li Younan, Jiang Kefan disregarded Teacher Xia Tian, who was still standing in front of them, and dragged Li Younan directly to the bathroom.
Jiang Kefan stopped at the entrance of the girls' restroom, pushed Li Younan to the door, turned around, and said, "Go in and wash up. Call me if you need anything."
Li Younan's heart melted instantly at Jiang Kefan's words. Only he cared about her feelings. She no longer cared about her previous purpose, nodded gently, and went into the bathroom.
Because so much time had passed, the ink had almost dried, and Li Younan had to use a lot of effort to wash his face clean. When he came out, although his face was clean, it was still flushed, and his clothes were soaked.
"Alright, you can turn around now." Seeing that Jiang Kefan was still facing away from her, Li Younan couldn't bear to speak up, but she still kept her head down.
Jiang Kefan turned around and saw that she was still looking down with her brows slightly furrowed. He reached out and lifted her head, saw the redness on her face, and gently touched it before withdrawing his hand.
After taking off his coat, Jiang Kefan handed it to Li Younan. Afraid that she wouldn't understand what he meant, he added, "Your clothes are wet, put this on." Jiang Kefan didn't dare say the words, "Don't catch a cold."
After Li Younan put on her coat as he instructed, Jiang Kefan pulled her along and rushed her to the teacher's office. On the way, Li Younan smelled the faint fragrance emanating from the coat and looked at the person in front of her, a smile unconsciously appearing on her face.
When they arrived at the office door again, Teacher Xia was already gone. Jiang Kefan let go of Li Younan's hand and turned to her, saying, "I'll go in and find the teacher. You stay here and don't move."
After seeing Li Younan nod, Jiang Kefan took a step, but after a few steps he came back and took Li Younan's hand, feeling more at ease holding her hand.
As soon as they entered the office, Teacher Xia came out and stood outside. The two of them followed behind her without saying a word.
"Speak, what do you want?" Teacher Xia turned her gaze away from outside and stared at the two students in front of her, speaking in her usual gentle tone.
"I want to be Li Younan's deskmate." Jiang Kefan said calmly, but it shocked Teacher Xia Tian and Li Younan next to him.
"I disagree, Teacher Xia, I disagree." Almost simultaneously, the next second after Jiang Kefan finished speaking, Li Younan immediately followed suit.
"I'll go contact Jiang Kefan's mother first." After saying that, Teacher Xia hurriedly went into the office, leaving only the two of them outside.
"Li Younan, are you crazy! Why won't you agree? You dislike me that much? You want to transfer schools, right? Let me tell you, I, Jiang Kefan, will never agree to that!" His tone was extremely firm, revealing his anger.
Why did she just leave like that, leaving him here alone? He can't let her go, otherwise how will he live without her? What's wrong with him? It seems like he's fallen for her.
The words echoed in the empty corridor, and the two were locked in a stalemate. Soon after, Jiang Hua arrived at the school, and the situation took a turn for the better.
The four of them sat down in the school pavilion. Jiang Hua noticed the awkward atmosphere and spoke first: "What's wrong?" Her voice grew weaker as she spoke, and it sounded really out of place.
"Mom, I want to be Li Younan's deskmate." Jiang Kefan didn't let the atmosphere remain tense. He was the first to respond to Jiang Hua's question, and his words were short but concise.
"Kefan's mother, I called you here mainly to ask for your opinion." Teacher Xia Tian also spoke up, and Jiang Hua was a little confused by the two of them speaking in succession.
Seeing Jiang Hua's reaction, Li Younan couldn't help but want to speak as well. However, as soon as she opened her mouth, she felt a pain in her wrist. She looked up at Jiang Kefan and met his piercing gaze. The words she was about to say were swallowed back down, and she lowered her head again.
"I understand what you just said. I have no objection to you two being deskmates." After saying that, Jiang Hua paused for a moment and glanced at Jiang Kefan.
She could clearly see the light in Jiang Kefan's eyes, and she immediately understood why Jiang Kefan hadn't come to school before. She shook her head and smiled at Jiang Kefan before speaking again.
“But—” Jiang Hua deliberately prolonged her tone, and as she expected, the color in Jiang Kefan’s eyes dimmed. She didn’t expect her son to be so amusing. Jiang Hua chuckled to herself.
"You only have one semester. Whether you'll still be deskmates after that is up to you two and the teacher." After saying that, Jiang Hua stood up and prepared to leave.
Teacher Xia naturally had to see her off, so the two of them were left alone in the pavilion again. In fact, Jiang Hua agreed not entirely because of Jiang Kefan, but mostly because of Li Younan.
She hoped that Fanfan could help Li Younan and that Li Younan could receive care. Li Younan was actually a good child, and she hoped that she could grow up happily. This was her wish as a mother, even though she wasn't her mother.
"Hello, Li Tongxue." After saying that, Jiang Kefan stood up and left the pavilion. Only after he left did Li Younan raise his head, his eyes filled with a mix of emotions as he looked at his back.
