Chapter 288 Mild Depression

After entering the kitchen, Gu Yiming took out a package from his shirt pocket, poured it into a cup, and then carefully put the medicine back into his pocket, afraid that it might be accidentally revealed.

After pouring and stirring the water, Gu Yiming came out with the water in his hand. He was still expressionless, and then said to Xu Xiaoxiao, "Have some water." The air was very quiet, and the scene made the two of them seem very ambiguous.

“Okay.” Xu Xiaoxiao took the water glass, her eyes fixed intently on Gu Yiming. Recalling what happened that night, her heart skipped a beat, but Gu Yiming did not respond to her enthusiasm.

"Are you getting used to it here?" Gu Yiming seemed to be trying to make conversation, his eyes fixed on the cup in Xu Xiaoxiao's hand, afraid that she wouldn't drink it, which would definitely ruin his plan.

"I'm getting used to it, it's quite nice here." After saying that, Xu Xiaoxiao took a sip of water, then looked down at Gu Yiming in a sweet voice. Seeing that Xu Xiaoxiao had drunk the water, Gu Yiming was in a good mood, so he smiled at her without hesitation.

"If there's anything you're not used to, you can tell me." Gu Yiming observed Xu Xiaoxiao's changes, then quietly drank a glass of water that Xu Xiaoxiao had poured for him earlier. Now he could only continue chatting with her until the 'medicine' took effect.

"There's nothing I'm not used to." Xu Xiaoxiao suddenly felt her vision blurring. She reached up and rubbed her temples, shook her head, and replied to Gu Yiming in a weak and listless tone, like a kite with a broken string.

Seeing that Xu Xiaoxiao had reacted, Gu Yiming got up and walked over to her, saying, "I think you're a little sleepy. Why don't you take a nap, and then I'll wake you up." After saying that, he took a pillow and placed it on the sofa.

"Then I'll take a nap." Xu Xiaoxiao felt her eyelids getting too heavy, and after hearing Gu Yiming's suggestion, she lay down on the pillow Gu Yiming had brought over and fell asleep as soon as she lay down.

"Hello?" Gu Yiming tentatively touched Xu Xiaoxiao, but there was no response. It seemed that she was really asleep. After confirming that she was asleep, Gu Yiming picked up Xu Xiaoxiao and carried her to the bedroom on the second floor.

After everything was ready, Gu Yiming calmly went out, disposed of the glass of water that Xu Xiaoxiao had drunk, and then went out to call the doctor and bodyguard in the car.

"You can come out now," Gu Yiming said, patting the car door. The bodyguards and doctors inside had been asleep, but they slowly opened their eyes after hearing the voice. They looked at Gu Yiming, and as if they had thought of something, they instantly woke up.

After the bodyguards and doctors came out, Gu Yiming began to assign tasks, saying, "Doctor, when you go in later, please help examine Xu Xiaoxiao, and then..." Before he could finish speaking, he suddenly remembered something and stopped talking. He then led the way inside, with the doctor and bodyguards following behind.

"It's right here, can you check it out and see if it's..." He stopped mid-sentence, probably feeling it was inappropriate to say it in front of people, so he whispered what he had just said in the doctor's ear. The doctor listened expressionlessly, nodding as long as he could, having experienced everything.

"Okay, I'll go in then." After Gu Yiming finished speaking, the doctor went inside and took out his tools to examine Xu Xiaoxiao. Gu Yiming and his bodyguard stood outside the door, looking at their phones idly.

About twenty minutes later, the doctor came out. Gu Yiming stopped what he was doing and asked, "How is it? Is it right?" The doctor nodded.

After confirming that Xu Xiaoxiao was ovulating, Gu Yiming gestured to the bodyguard next to him to enter Xu Xiaoxiao's room. The bodyguard seemed to be very smart; he understood Gu Yiming's meaning with just a glance, then tiptoed in and closed the door.

"Let's go." After saying that, Gu Yiming turned and left, and the doctor followed without saying a word. This kind of thing couldn't be done in the open, so Gu Yiming didn't say a word on the way back, but he seemed to be in a very good mood.

At the hospital, Jiang Hua was sitting on the bed looking at a photo album. The album contained photos taken during their trip to Hainan. Her hand gently stroked Gu Yiming in the photos, and the emotions in her eyes were very complex.

“Every time I go, it’s different. Have you changed, or have I changed?” Jiang Hua’s eyes were somewhat vacant. She stared ahead and began to talk to herself. The emotions in her eyes were indescribable sadness. It was because she liked him that she was sad.

As she flipped through the photos, tears streamed down her face. Jiang Hua broke down in sobs. She was truly afraid, afraid that her marriage would be like a dream, and that she would wake up to find nothing left.

Just then, Gu Yiming came to see her. Gu Yiming was originally in high spirits because he knew why Jiang Hua was ignoring him. But when he got to the door and was about to open it, he looked up and saw Jiang Hua crying in the ward, hugging a photo album.

"I'm sorry, it's my fault, I made you sad." His hand froze in mid-air, then fell limply to his side. His heart ached terribly, as if it had been pierced by many needles. In the end, he didn't go in, but turned and went to the doctor's office.

"Is the doctor here?" Gu Yiming called out from the doorway. He didn't look well, and his eyebrows were furrowed. How could he remain calm when he saw Jiang Hua upset?

"Come in." The doctor had nothing to do at the moment and was writing something down. Hearing someone enter, he stopped what he was doing.

"I'm Jiang Hua's family. I'd like to ask how she's been lately." Gu Yiming didn't sit down but asked anxiously as soon as he entered the room. He rarely saw Jiang Hua cry like this and was worried that something might have happened.

"Let me take a look at it for you." After saying that, the doctor started flipping through a medical record book. Gu Yiming was very anxious next to him, as if he couldn't wait a moment longer. The clock was ticking away, and time seemed to be passing very slowly.

Finally, the doctor spoke, "Jiang Hua's physical recovery is going well, but she has some mild depression." The doctor's words were calm, but Gu Yiming's heart was in turmoil.

"Depression? How could she have depression?" Gu Yiming said in surprise. Although depression is not a physical illness, it is one of the most tormenting illnesses. His voice trembled slightly, and his gaze towards the doctor became even more anxious.
