Chapter 326 Mother and Child Reunion

Jiang Hua was incredulous, thinking she must be hallucinating. How could her son possibly be standing in front of her now? She must not have rested well and missed her son too much.

"Mother!"

Another call broke through the noise of the helicopter rotor, more real than the previous dreamlike call. Jiang Hua's previously still body finally moved again. She turned around, the wind-blown grass and trees blurred into the background, and a little boy wearing a pink plaid shirt, his face filled with joy.

“Kefan…” Jiang Hua’s nose tingled and her eyes instantly reddened.

Jiang Kefan ran over calling for his mother. Jiang Hua quickly squatted down and opened her arms to welcome the child who was only a few steps away from her. The porcelain doll-like little boy buried his head in her arms, hugged her neck, and buried his head deeply in Jiang Hua's neck.

"Mom, I miss you so much." Jiang Kefan whispered in Jiang Hua's ear as he hung around her neck.

"Mom misses Kefan too!" Jiang Hua hugged her son tightly, tears streaming down her face. She could only sob and say this to Jiang Kefan, unable to say anything else. The bitterness that had been suppressed in her heart for so long finally found an outlet after seeing Jiang Kefan, turning into a river of tears.

She could have nothing in her life, but she couldn't live without Kefan.

A thousand words are ground into a single thought of longing; what remains is the joy and preciousness of this moment of reunion.

After a long while, Jiang Kefan gently patted Jiang Hua's back and whispered comfortingly, "Mom, don't cry, Kefan came to see you."

"Mom thought she would never see you again." Actually, it wouldn't be difficult for her to see him again. She had thought about going to Kefan's school to secretly see how he was doing. She had thought about quietly visiting places where Kefan was. But she didn't want to see certain people and just wanted to avoid running into them as much as possible.

After he had cried enough, Jiang Hua gently pulled Ke Fan apart by his arms, her eyes brimming with tears as she looked at him carefully: "Let Mom take a good look at you."

Jiang Kefan sniffed, his round eyes fixed on Jiang Hua for a moment, and said, "Mom, Uncle Junxi brought me here. Why are you hiding here? I can't find you."

Jiang Hua didn't know how to explain adult matters to this little one. She smoothed the stray hairs on Jiang Kefan's forehead and said, "When Mommy wasn't here, did Kefan eat and sleep well?"

“Kefan is such a good boy, he eats and sleeps on time every day.” Jiang Kefan answered earnestly with bright eyes, and then lowered his head and pointed to his chest and murmured, “But, Kefan feels very sad every night when he thinks about his mother here.”

"Good child, Mom should have come to see you sooner." Jiang Hua suddenly regretted it. She was suffering, but wasn't the child she had raised also suffering? She hugged the child in her arms and then realized that Xia Junxi's figure had already turned into the flower bushes in the distance.

Xia Junxi stood behind Jiang Kefan with his hands in his pockets for a long time. He had never seen Jiang Hua cry so much. She was probably so happy that she forgot about him. Actually, he didn't want to disturb the warm reunion between the mother and son. He only stood there for a short while before turning around and leaving.

He thought that if he had met this woman earlier, he would have cherished and protected her, and wouldn't have let her be so heartbroken. He was grateful to Gu Yiming for letting go, which gave him the opportunity to be with her and even take a gamble, but he didn't want to rush things.

He glanced at Jiang Hua and her son, who were embracing each other, and slowly withdrew from their sight, giving them time and space alone. Jiang Hua was secretly grateful.

"Mom, you've lost weight." Jiang Kefan cupped Jiang Hua's face in his chubby little hands. "Have you been eating properly?"

Jiang Hua calmed herself down but didn't know how to answer her son's childish yet very real question. She could only force a smile. Jiang Kefan didn't need her to answer, because he said, "I know, Mom must be missing me so much that she can't eat, right? Mom's dark circles are very obvious, she must not have been sleeping well either."

Jiang Hua held Jiang Kefan's chubby little hand, unsure whether to cry or laugh. In front of the young child, she was at a loss for words and could only nod repeatedly, choking back tears.

"Mommy, don't be afraid. From now on, Kefan will be by Mommy's side, and Mommy won't miss me so much that I can't eat or sleep." Jiang Kefan wiped away Jiang Hua's tears with her little hands and comforted her in a rambling voice.

"Kefan is such a good boy, Mommy will definitely eat and sleep well." Jiang Hua replied with a happy expression.

“My mom is the most beautiful mom, no one can compare to her.” Jiang Hua listened with mixed feelings of joy and worry. She was happy that Jiang Kefan depended on her, but she was also worried about this dependence.

She had no further connection with Gu Yiming, but she knew he genuinely cared for Jiang Kefan and was afraid that Jiang Kefan might be bullied when Gu Yiming couldn't see her. Jiang Hua stood up, then paused. Lately, she had lost her appetite and couldn't sleep, which had seriously affected her health. She had been crying for too long and squatting for a while, and now she felt a little dizzy.

"Mom?" Jiang Kefan looked up at her, reached out and grabbed her pants, his eyes filled with worry.

Jiang Hua rubbed her forehead, and after a moment of recovery, she smiled and waved her hand, took Ke Fan's little hand, and asked, "Ke Fan, tell Mommy, are they good to you?"

They were the Gu family, perhaps including his father. Jiang Kefan looked up at his mother, his moist, red lips trembling slightly. He knew that Gu Yiming had hurt his mother. Having grown up with his mother, he wasn't particularly close to Gu Yiming. As long as someone loved his mother, he could accept that person. Although he thought Gu Yiming was a good choice, he feared his mother wouldn't be able to accept anyone mentioning him for a while.

“That Aunt Xu comes to bother me every day, it seems like she wants to be nicer to me.” Jiang Kefan said with a frown. He wanted to mention Gu Yiming directly, but he was afraid that his mother would not be able to stand it, so he thought about it and started with Xu Xiaoxiao. He hadn’t had much contact with the other people in the Gu family, but Xu Xiaoxiao was trying her best to get close to him. Even a blind man could see that she was trying to please him: “It’s just that her cooking is too bad, and she acts like a spoiled princess, bossing me around. I don’t like her, and Qiqi doesn’t like her either.”

Jiang Hua felt inexplicably uncomfortable knowing that Xu Xiaoxiao would become the Gu family's daughter-in-law. She didn't interrupt, not wanting to ruin her mood as soon as she saw her son.

After Jiang Kefan finished speaking, he solemnly pulled Jiang Hua. The two stopped in their tracks. One looked down at him with a puzzled expression, while the other looked up and said earnestly, "No matter what others say, in Kefan's eyes, Mom is the gentlest, most beautiful, and most caring mother in the world. No one can compare to her."

The wind gradually softened, brushing against Jiang Hua's hair on her cheeks. At that moment, the sun shone brightly and the clouds drifted lightly.
