Hu Haoran noticed that Ye Qingqing didn't answer him from outside the door, so he said again, "I really know I was wrong. I didn't mean to buy chrysanthemums. I went to the flower shop to buy roses to give to you and apologize, but I didn't expect the shop owner to tell me that they were out of roses and only had chrysanthemums. I thought that chrysanthemums are flowers too, and it's better than nothing, so I bought them."
Hearing Hu Haoran's words, Ye Qingqing felt like she was questioning her life, wondering why she had chosen such a boyfriend.
Then she said angrily, "Who apologizes to their girlfriend by giving her chrysanthemums? Chrysanthemums are usually given to the dead! How can you do this? Get out of here, and don't come back. I will never forgive you."
While Hu Haoran and Ye Qingqing were arguing, Xu Xiaoxiao finally received news about Xu Mo, whom she had been missing.
Xu Mo's attempt to start a new company abroad failed, and the company's secrets were leaked, but he stubbornly refused to ask his brothers for help.
Since Xu Mo's new company failed, he has almost nothing left. To make a living, he wanders the streets every day, hoping to find a job that can support him.
That day, he finally saw a job posting on the door of a restaurant. He was overjoyed and immediately went in to apply.
After Xu Mo entered, the waiter asked in English, "Hello sir, how may I help you?"
Hearing the waiter say that, Xu Mo smiled sheepishly and replied in English, "Hello, I saw a notice outside that they are hiring waiters, and I would like to apply for the job."
Upon hearing Xu Mo's words, the waiter looked at him in surprise and asked, "Are you here to apply for a waiter position?"
It's no wonder the waiter was so surprised, because Xu Mo was dressed in a suit and tie, very formally, and looked more like he was there to have a meal than to apply for a job.
Seeing the waiter looking at him with surprise, Xu Mo also felt that it was inappropriate for him to be dressed like this when applying for a waiter job.
But he still smiled at the waiter and said, "Sorry! This is how I usually dress, it's a habit. But if I get the job, I'll definitely do my best."
Hearing Xu Mo say that, the waiter didn't know what to say, and simply said to Xu Mo, "Alright then! I'll go and call the boss."
Xu Mo nodded, said thank you, and the waiter went to call the restaurant owner. The owner was surprised to see Xu Mo, but quickly recovered and agreed to let Xu Mo try out for the job.
Xu Mo was overjoyed to hear that the restaurant owner wanted him to start work the next day, and quickly thanked him in English: "Thank you so much, I will definitely do my best and won't let you down."
So Xu Mo got a job as a waiter at the restaurant, earning a stable income. It was then that he remembered his younger sister back in China. Her new company had failed, and he hadn't dared to call Xu Xiaoxiao because he felt guilty; if he went back, he might need her to support him, but he didn't want that kind of life.
Now that he has a stable job, he can use it to make a comeback. In addition, he misses his younger sister who is far away in China very much, so one night he called Xu Xiaoxiao.
But after calling several times, he found that Xu Xiaoxiao's phone was switched off. He felt a little nervous, worried that something might have happened to Xu Xiaoxiao.
But then he thought again, was he being too hasty? Besides, there's a time difference between China and here. And what if Xu Xiaoxiao's phone just ran out of battery?
Thinking this way, Xu Mo finally felt relieved. He planned to call Xu Xiaoxiao again the next day, so he went to sleep.
The next day, Xu Mo called Xu Xiaoxiao again, but the phone was still switched off. He tried to convince himself with the same excuse he'd used the day before. But on the third and fourth days, he called countless times, and Xu Xiaoxiao's phone remained switched off. Now he knew something must have happened, and he panicked.
Suddenly he remembered that he had his family's nanny's number saved on his phone, so he immediately found the number and dialed it.
The nanny answered the phone, and Xu Mo explained why he was calling. He then asked, "What's wrong with Xiaoxiao? Why isn't she answering my calls? Isn't she home?"
Hearing Xu Mo ask this, the nanny paused for a moment and said, "Sir, Miss was arrested and sent to a drug rehabilitation center for drug use, and there's no one left at home, so I went back to my hometown."
Upon hearing the nanny's words, Xu Mo was so shocked that he dropped his phone. He simply couldn't believe it: "Xu Xiaoxiao would do drugs? Although Xu Xiaoxiao is a bit willful and spoiled, she would never do something like drug use."
He was determined to find out what had happened. He hadn't planned to return to China anytime soon, because he felt ashamed. But now he couldn't care less.
The thought of his younger sister being in a drug rehabilitation center filled Xu Mo with self-loathing: "Why did I have to come to this place to start this stupid company? In the end, the company failed, and my sister somehow ended up in a drug rehabilitation center."
As he thought about it, he slapped himself. He felt that if he hadn't insisted on coming here to start the company, he could have stayed by Xu Xiaoxiao's side, and then Xu Xiaoxiao wouldn't have ended up in a drug rehabilitation center because of her drug addiction.
The thought that Xu Xiaoxiao might not have enough to eat or wear in the drug rehabilitation center broke his heart. His little sister, whom he had protected and cherished since childhood, couldn't bear such hardship.
The thought of this made him uneasy, so he immediately resigned from his job and booked a flight back to China that same day.
As the saying goes, misfortunes never come singly. After Xu Mo boarded the plane, a fight broke out on board.
Xu Mo couldn't bear to watch the two wrestling together any longer. So he went to help separate them, but he didn't expect them to be so strong that no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't pull them apart.
Unable to separate the two, Xu Mo called on the other passengers on the plane for help. However, with so many people, chaos easily ensued, and once chaos broke out, an accident occurred.
Xu Mo accidentally injured someone, and upon seeing the injured person, the crowd immediately stopped their commotion. However, since Xu Mo had actually injured someone, they all rushed him off the plane.
Xu Mo was kicked off the plane by everyone in the cabin, all because he had meant well but ended up hurting someone. Xu Mo felt a wave of helplessness.
But he quickly realized that he needed to return to China as soon as possible, but he couldn't board the previous flight, so he asked, "Are there any tickets left to return that day?"
"No more," the staff member told him. "All the tickets for today are sold out; only tickets for tomorrow are available."
Left with no other option, Xu Mo bought tickets for the next day. He had no choice but to find a hotel to spend the night, but thinking about Xu Xiaoxiao's situation, he couldn't sleep.
