Qi Yanxu was unaware of these events; he was simply busy clearing Jiang Hua's name. He didn't think much about anything else. All Qi Yanxu knew was that his plan had failed. Although he felt a little disappointed, it wasn't a major issue.
Jiang Hua has been staying at home these past few days, feeling increasingly bored. Every day is incredibly dull. Only Gu Yiming occasionally visits her; no one else comes. Perhaps it's because Jiang Hua is a rather reclusive person, or perhaps it's just her personality. Since no one else has voiced any objections, Jiang Hua continues to live her life as she pleases.
She didn't need to care about that so-called father, since even her own biological father didn't care much about her, and his current state was even worse. Jiang Hua had probably gotten used to this kind of life. So, if her father suddenly showed concern, she would feel very uncomfortable.
At this point, there was truly nothing that could be done. However, people eventually get used to all sorts of things. So, she became more accepting of it, and Jiang Hua became less and less concerned about it, feeling that she was doing quite well with her current life. After all, she had gotten used to this kind of life over the years.
Despite her previous emotional turmoil, Jiang Hua remained unaffected. It was clear she was incredibly stubborn, almost frighteningly so. Perhaps this stubbornness stemmed from the pressures of life; her life was different now than before. Sometimes it was truly heartbreaking, yet one couldn't quite put their finger on why. So many things and emotions simply faded away unresolved.
Jiang Hua was idling at home when she suddenly received a call from her father. At first, Jiang Hua thought she must be seeing things, so she rubbed her eyes and looked closely. It was indeed her father calling. Jiang Hua figured he probably had something to say, so she answered the phone.
"Hey, Huahua, how have you been lately? Are you feeling unwell?" Jiang's father asked.
Jiang Hua was originally going to ask her father what was wrong, but her father brought up this topic right away, which made Jiang Hua very embarrassed. She was stunned for a moment and didn't know what to say, so she simply remained silent.
“Huahua, you must take good care of yourself. Don’t let your father worry about you,” Jiang’s father said.
Jiang Hua snapped out of her daze. She knew very well that her father had come to show concern for her. And thinking about it carefully, although her father valued the company more than her, he had still doted on her in the past. Jiang Hua felt much better when she thought of this, which is why she felt so happy. So she stopped being silent.
"Dad, I understand. Don't worry about these things. Just take good care of yourself and don't make me worry," Jiang Hua said.
Jiang Hua was filled with mixed emotions at this moment. An indescribable feeling welled up in her heart, making her feel empty inside. Perhaps it was because her father's two words of concern struck a chord with her vulnerable heart. Or perhaps it was for some other reason.
"Alright, take good care of yourself. I'm hanging up now. Come home and visit when you have time," Jiang's father said.
After hanging up the phone, Jiang Hua felt a bit overwhelmed, perhaps because the impact was too great. At that moment, Gu Yiming had already wiped out Jiang Shiwan's fan base, and the major media outlets dared not utter a sound. So, Jiang Hua's danger alert was considered over. This was a very happy thing.
The major media outlets, of course, dared not utter a word. After all, they were dealing with the Gu family, and the Gu family was not to be trifled with—everyone knew that. So, things are relatively peaceful now. No one is provoking anyone else, and neither side owes the other anything.
Jiang Shiwan was furious when she found out about this, so she went out drinking. She felt that only drinking could relieve her sadness, or rather, her sense of defeat.
As a result, Jiang Shiwan ran into Qi Yanxu, which made things a bit awkward between the two of them. Qi Yanxu was very angry when he saw Jiang Shiwan, and walked straight up to her and slapped her.
Jiang Shiwan was stunned. She hadn't expected Qi Yanxu to slap her, and felt extremely wronged. It was a feeling she couldn't quite describe.
"Qi Yanxu, are you sick? Why did you hit me?" Jiang Shiwan yelled.
Jiang Shiwan was furious. After all, no one had ever slapped her before. She was a true heiress, spoiled and pampered.
“This slap is because of what you did to harm Jiang Hua. You know that in your heart, right? So you deserve it,” Qi Yanxu said.
Qi Yanxu wanted nothing more than to beat Jiang Shiwan to death. Looking at her ugly face and how they bullied Jiang Hua, Qi Yanxu felt like he was about to explode with anger. That's why he directly slapped her.
"Isn't all this to stop Jiang Hua and Gu Yiming's wedding? Why would I go to all this trouble if it weren't to ruin the wedding?" Jiang Shiwan said angrily.
Jiang Shiwan felt that all of this was very unfair to her. She didn't know why it had always been like this, so it was bound to feel unfair, and Jiang Shiwan felt particularly wronged.
Qi Yanxu was at a loss for words. Although this situation was indeed troubling him, and it was something he didn't want to happen, he didn't want Jiang Hua to marry Gu Yiming either. But he had no choice; he didn't want to hurt Jiang Hua.
Qi Yanxu felt that the only thing he could do now was to protect Jiang Hua and prevent her from suffering even the slightest harm. Therefore, Qi Yanxu was also going through a very difficult time. However, Jiang Hua was completely unaware of all this.
"Qi Yanxu, I know you definitely don't want them to get married either, right? How about we work together? We'll keep trying to find ways to stop them from getting married. What do you think?" Jiang Shiwan said.
Jiang Shiwan always had an indescribable quality about her. Her words were somewhat flowery, which made them seem more credible, but Qi Yanxu didn't know how to choose in these matters. However, based on Jiang Shiwan's words, he was already somewhat tempted.
Qi Yanxu was still struggling with his choice. Jiang Shiwan, on the other hand, felt like she had it all figured out. But that wasn't actually the case. After all, things were still very uncertain, and the outcome might not be what she expected.
Jiang Shiwan waited silently for Qi Yanxu to think things through. If he did, then everything would be much easier.
