Chapter 49 An Awkward Dinner

Jiang Hua walked lightly down the bustling street, feeling somewhat lost about her destination. She wandered aimlessly, stopping and starting. Every now and then she would glance at the crowds, then at the distant skyscrapers, and then fix her gaze on the trinkets in the boutiques.

"Jiang Hua, are you looking for something?"

Or are you looking for someone?

"Could it be the person you love?"

Jiang Hua's left and right hemispheres started chattering and arguing incessantly again, and Jiang Hua was getting a little angry.

But then I thought about it again, what's wrong with that? Isn't he the one I'm thinking about right now?

Jiang Hua was walking aimlessly, thinking about the man in her heart. As she walked, she unconsciously stopped and did not continue walking.

"This feels so familiar!" Jiang Hua thought to herself. The next second, she subconsciously raised her small head slightly, blinked her big, watery eyes, and suddenly her eyes widened, revealing a surprised expression on her face.

Jiang Hua muttered to herself in a low voice, "This is... this is the place where I asked Gu Yiming to have dinner before. I actually ended up here? It really is!" Thinking of this, Jiang Hua chuckled coldly twice, finding herself a little ridiculous.

The sound of "gurgling" came from Jiang Hua's stomach.

Jiang Hua heard her stomach growling again and couldn't help but laugh awkwardly. "Let's go fill our stomachs first!" Jiang Hua said helplessly.

Jiang Hua arrived at the restaurant and sat down. The waiter asked Jiang Hua what she wanted to eat, and without thinking, Jiang Hua ordered the same dishes as last time.

Before long, the food was served. Jiang Hua didn't care about maintaining a ladylike image; she just wanted to fill her stomach first.

They started eating rather ravenously.

When Jiang Hua finished eating and walked out of the restaurant, she saw Gu Yiming coming over.

Gu Yiming looked at Jiang Hua with a deep, affectionate gaze. Jiang Hua felt awkward greeting him.

Gu Yiming spoke first, his magnetic voice gentle as he asked, "Jiang Hua, are you here for dinner too?"

Jiang Hua said somewhat awkwardly, "Yes, what a coincidence!"

"You haven't eaten yet, have you? Why don't we eat together?" Gu Yiming said with a smile.

"Okay!" Jiang Hua said excitedly, but her face turned red the next second.

Just then, Jiang Hua burped. Hearing the sound of her own burp, she really wanted to find a hole in the ground and crawl into it. She forced a smile and said somewhat awkwardly, "Look, I'm starving. I'm sorry."

Upon entering the restaurant, Jiang Hua gave the waiter a wink, signaling him not to say anything. The waiter, being quite astute, neither asked nor said anything.

"Let me treat you, Gu Yiming. You treated me last time," Jiang said with a smile.

Gu Yiming did not refuse, but simply nodded, though his expression showed slight displeasure.

"The food at this restaurant still comes out so fast!" Jiang Hua felt like she was just making conversation. But she was used to it by now.

Gu Yiming nodded and didn't say anything more.

The dishes were served, but Jiang Hua didn't touch her chopsticks. She simply held a cup of milk tea in both hands and slowly sipped it, sitting quietly opposite Gu Yiming, watching him eat. Gu Yiming frowned slightly, a little puzzled, and asked, "Jiang Hua, aren't you hungry? Why aren't you eating?"

Jiang Hua suddenly blushed, like a primary school student caught doing something naughty by the teacher. Jiang Hua awkwardly explained to Gu Yiming, "Well, I was indeed hungry just now, but I'm not hungry anymore. I'll just have a cup of milk tea. Gu Yiming, you go ahead and eat, don't worry about me."

Gu Yiming nodded and continued eating.

As Gu Yiming ate, he seemed to remember something and suddenly paused. "Is your illness alright? Is it serious? Have you taken your medicine?" Gu Yiming asked Jiang Hua while eating, his words full of concern and concern.

Jiang Hua replied to Gu Yiming with a smile: "I'm fine. You should eat first. After you finish eating, let's go to the internet cafe nearby to play games. What do you say? It's been a long time since I've played. We should go and play a game or two."

Gu Yiming raised an eyebrow and asked in a questioning tone, "Didn't you just log on yesterday?" He almost laughed after saying that, finding Jiang Hua rather cute.

Jiang Hua asked, somewhat displeased, "So, Gu Yiming, are you going or not?"

Gu Yiming said calmly, "Something came up at school, so I probably can't play anymore. You go ahead and play, I have to go back to school now."

"Okay!" Jiang Hua said, a little unhappy.

After parting ways with Gu Yiming, Jiang Hua went straight back to her dormitory, and the first thing she did upon returning was to log on.

I saw something I didn't want to see as soon as I logged in.

[Angela] Di Ruhua, I'm warning you, you'd better stay away from Gu Yiming. If you know what's good for you, get the hell out of my sight. You're useless.

[Angela] Di Ruhua, you're such a hypocrite, you know that? You're really disgusting.

...

Jiang Hua looked at Angela's words, chuckled coldly, and said in a disdainful tone, "Utterly boring." Jiang Hua didn't reply, but just watched Angela direct and perform her own show, constantly cursing. To outsiders, it would seem that paying attention to someone like that would only lower one's own IQ.

[Angela] Di Ruhua, I know you're online. Come out here, you white lotus, you coward who only knows how to hide in the shadows.

[Angela] Di Ruhua, come out!

[Player 1] Stop yelling. You can't even kill a small monster. I'm just speechless.

An Li was already annoyed because Jiang Hua hadn't dared to speak to her, and now that her teammate was saying such things about her, she was furious. An Li was truly enraged and was probably crying right now.

[Gang][Player 1] Di Ruhua, you're so powerful, you should find a pro to train your couple skills with.

[Gang] [Di Ruhua] No, no, I'm not that good.

[Gang][Player 2] Yes, yes, you should find someone to practice couple skills with so you can become stronger. You need to find someone more powerful. In my opinion, you could find Master Gu.

Jiang Hua's heart raced when she saw Yi Gu's name. But she didn't know how to respond.

[Gang] [Emperor Ruhua] This—

[Gang][Player 3] Don't hesitate, Di Ruhua, why don't you practice your couple skills with Master Yi Gu!
