When Jiang Hua opened her eyes, it was the same time as usual. She quickly got dressed, just like any other day.
The weather was lovely. Jiang Hua stretched, her beautiful figure looking alluring in the sunlight. After quickly getting ready, she went to work.
The breeze felt wonderful to Jiang Hua; her hair, ruffled by the wind, danced gracefully like tiny sprites, as if saying, "Such beautiful weather deserves to be enjoyed!" So, Jiang Hua looked exceptionally beautiful in the morning sunlight. The golden air showered upon her, as if attracting countless glittering gold dust, making her so radiant and captivating.
When I arrived at the company, the sun had already fully risen, and the azure sky looked as if it could drip clear water. But when I looked up, what attracted me was not just the azure sky, but the white clouds set against it, wispy white clouds, like a fairyland.
But despite the beautiful weather, Jiang Hua was met with bad news. When her colleagues told her the news, she seemed indifferent. However, on her way to the company office, she grew increasingly angry. Her resentment made her clench her fists tightly at her sides, and her brows furrowed without her realizing it. She herself was unaware of her menacing appearance.
"Why are you firing me!" she said bluntly, unable to suppress her emotions any longer. She had worked so hard, doing her job conscientiously, taking on no extra or no extra work, spending her precious lunch and dinner time working overtime, enduring hunger and sleepiness, yet still persevering to finish her duties. Despite all her hard work, she was fired.
The thought of being fired despite all one's efforts would infuriate anyone, especially without a single reason—it was all so sudden and unreasonable. Jiang Hua's glare at Si was so fierce that Si swallowed hard. He hadn't expected firing Jiang Hua to make her so angry. Although he had some doubts about firing Jiang's father's second daughter, he still did it, almost unconsciously, and just seconds after Jiang's father gave the order, as if he so desperately wanted Jiang Hua fired.
His Adam's apple bobbed, he coughed twice to ensure he maintained a professional demeanor, then, like a victor, lazily glanced at Jiang Hua and said casually, "What can I do? Your father ordered me to dismiss you, Miss, and I could only do as he said. You've come to ask me, and I don't know how to answer you." He spoke as if it were reasonable, as if he were full of respect for Jiang Hua, but the sarcasm in his words was so easily detectable.
Jiang Hua knew it was her father's doing. Without saying a word, she stormed off. Of course, she should have realized it sooner; only her father could fire her from Jiang's. She left with her belongings, amidst the strange looks from her colleagues. Perhaps, for someone like her, being fired was the best thing for them. With such a huge obstacle gone, her mood, like the weather outside, was bright and cheerful.
Jiang Hua looked at the weather outside, trying to cheer herself up. Losing her job might not be such a bad thing; after all, she could finally rest after being so tired. But as she gazed at the sky, tears suddenly welled up in her eyes. Perhaps the sky itself also wanted to see such beautiful weather.
Jiang Hua didn't want the tears to come out, and she didn't want anyone else to see them. She quickly lowered her head, and the tears slid down her cheeks, dripping onto the ground and creating ripples. In less than a second, they were covered by dust, leaving behind a concentrated sadness.
She kept comforting herself, but the tears wouldn't stop. Maybe they were laughing at her, and that tears, being so kind, were meant to make others happy.
Qi Yanxu could see it clearly; even though his face was bathed in sunlight, he could still sense a chill in him. He felt the same way watching Jiang Hua cry, even though he had just learned she was with Gu Yiming. Perhaps he was the fool who wanted her to be happy, even if it meant suffering himself.
He turned on his phone and dialed his assistant's number. "...Find me a way to suppress the Jiang family."
The echoes lingered faintly in the air, making them extremely irritated.
Jiang Hua looked at the message her father had sent her. Tears blurred the message, and she wiped them with the back of her hand to make out the words.
"See you at Shiyu Coffee at 3 PM."
Jiang Hua put away her phone and sighed softly. Afternoon tea time was also a time when it was hard to calm down.
Before 3 a.m., Jiang Hua had nothing to do. She always felt that time was too tight and she was too tired, so she didn't have time to rest or even watch TV series. But now that she was really free, Jiang Hua looked at the TV series on her phone and didn't feel like watching it at all. She stared blankly at her phone for a long time before finally putting it down and slumping onto the bed in despair.
I don't dislike the class.
Gradually, Jiang Hua fell asleep amidst her agitated state of mind. Her weight left a large dent in the white bed. She slept peacefully, her dreams filled with the wonderful memories of work and being with her close colleagues. Now, work seemed like a luxury, something she could only indulge in in her dreams.
Jiang Hua's biological clock was quite accurate; she woke up precisely half an hour before 3 p.m., but she skipped lunch. She quickly washed up, ate something quickly, and left home.
When Jiang Hua arrived at Shiyu Coffee, she immediately spotted her father. He was never late and always arrived early.
"Sorry to keep you waiting," Jiang Hua said. The two didn't seem like father and daughter, but more like strangers discussing a contract and terms that were favorable to them.
“I just arrived too.” Mr. Jiang took a sip of coffee. He didn’t stand on ceremony; he really had just arrived. He thought Jiang Hua wouldn’t be here for a long time, so Jiang Hua’s early arrival surprised Mr. Jiang.
"An Americano, please," Jiang Hua said to the waiter who came over. Then she turned her head, slightly raised the corners of her mouth, and said, "What does Father want to see me about?" Jiang Hua had always known that because of what her sister and stepmother had said to her father, he always viewed her with prejudice, but she never pointed it out, only glossing over it.
"I heard you got fired?" Jiang's father asked slowly, which startled Jiang Hua. He knew perfectly well that she had been fired, yet he still rubbed salt into her wounds.
"Yes." Jiang Hua gritted her teeth and had no choice but to admit it.
"Jiang Hua, do you know what shame is? You got expelled from your class, what else can you do?" Jiang's father's tone was harsh. She remembered that it was her father who caused the expulsion, yet now he acted as if Jiang Hua had done something wrong. The more Jiang Hua thought about it, the angrier she became, but she couldn't vent her anger.
