Jiang Hua listened with gritted teeth, but being under someone else's roof, she had no choice but to submit. She suppressed her anger and said to Gu Yiming, "Okay, I'll go wait for you."
Jiang Hua put down the phone, stomped her foot in anger. This Gu Yiming was really taking advantage of her. She had given him a nice look, but he was still acting like he didn't care. Jiang Hua angrily cursed Gu Yiming.
Gu Yiming, who was smugly pleased with himself at the company, sneezed. He didn't have a cold, so why was he sneezing? Gu Yiming wondered.
Having promised Gu Yiming that she would wait for him at the hotel, Jiang Hua stopped sulking and focused on getting herself ready to wait for him. Asking him for help if she arrived late would be a pipe dream.
Jiang Hua said "Let's do it," stood up from the sofa, went back to the bedroom to change her clothes, grabbed her bag, and stormed out the door.
Jiang Hua spent ages trying to hail a taxi, but every car that came was already occupied. Frustrated, she stomped her feet by the roadside; even the cars seemed to be working against her today. As she walked towards the hotel, she kept glancing back to see if any cars were coming. Before she knew it, she had arrived at the hotel.
Upon arriving at the hotel, Jiang Hua kicked off her high heels; after running so far, her feet felt like they were about to get blisters. She rubbed her feet, muttering about why Gu Yiming was so slow and hadn't arrived yet.
Jiang Hua waited a while longer, almost falling asleep in bed. The doorbell rang, startling her awake. She ran to open the door, and sure enough, standing there was Gu Yiming, his face cold.
Gu Yiming looked at Jiang Hua standing motionless at the door and said coldly, "What? Aren't you going to let me in?"
Seeing Gu Yiming suddenly become inexplicably angry, Jiang Hua ignored him, stepped aside, and went into the house.
When Gu Yiming saw that Jiang Hua not only didn't come to apologize to him, but also ignored what he said, Gu Yiming's anger flared up instantly.
"The person who called me over to apologize is now ignoring me? Why should I help you then?" Gu Yiming said to Jiang Hua in a threatening tone.
Jiang Hua was also angry. She had had an incredibly unpleasant day. She said irritably, "It's me, but isn't this what you should do? Don't forget that I'm carrying your child. If you just stand by and do nothing, and the pregnancy is threatened, it's hard to say whether the baby can stay.
Jiang Hua raised an eyebrow. She suddenly remembered that she was pregnant and could use the child to threaten Gu Yiming.
Gu Yiming found it ridiculous that Jiang Hua was using the child to threaten him. Did she really think he didn't know that she wasn't pregnant?
"Do you really have a child in your belly? Don't think I don't know your little tricks. I haven't exposed you before, but I didn't expect you to dare to threaten me with a child today. You know best whether you have a child in your belly or not."
Gu Yiming looked at Jiang Hua with a sneer, wanting to see if Jiang Hua would admit it or not.
Jiang Hua panicked when she heard Gu Yiming's words. How did he know? Jiang Hua wanted to deny it to the death, but seeing Gu Yiming's confident look, all her denials stuck in her throat and she couldn't say them.
Jiang Hua closed her eyes, thinking that since he already knew, no matter how much she denied it, he wouldn't believe her, so she might as well just admit it.
"Yes, I'm not pregnant." Jiang Hua bit her lip, feeling a little guilty.
The sarcasm on Gu Yiming's face deepened after Jiang Hua said those words. He knew it was one thing, but hearing Jiang Hua admit it herself was another. A hint of disappointment flashed through Gu Yiming's mind.
"How did you know I wasn't pregnant?" Although Jiang Hua had admitted it, she still wanted to know how Gu Yiming knew. Did someone tell him, or did he investigate her to find out?
When Jiang Hua asked him this question, Gu Yiming felt a surge of anger and resentment at being deceived. He didn't speak, but stared at Jiang Hua with icy eyes that seemed to pierce through her. Jiang Hua unconsciously looked away, avoiding his gaze.
Gu Yiming sneered, "First, answer me why you're faking a pregnancy, and what your purpose is."
Jiang Hua looked around guiltily, trying to figure out how to answer him.
"I have no ulterior motive, don't dwell on this. Just tell me how you found out." Jiang Hua tried to dodge the question, but Gu Yiming wasn't so easily fooled. After all, he was a seasoned businessman who saw through Jiang Hua's little scheme at a glance. He approached her step by step, "No ulterior motive? Do you think I'd believe such a stupid thing? You'd better tell me the truth and stop trying to play any tricks."
Jiang Hua was anxious when she saw that this tactic was not working on him. "By the way, I came here today to apologize to you. I shouldn't have done so many wrong things before. You told me to resign but I didn't listen, and you told me to become your assistant but I didn't go either. I shouldn't have disobeyed you. I was wrong."
Hearing Jiang Hua's words, Gu Yiming couldn't deny feeling a surge of secret joy, but Jiang Hua didn't return. Gu Yiming regained his composure, his face turning cold.
"Put this matter aside for now. We have more important things to discuss. First, explain to me your purpose in faking your pregnancy."
Jiang Hua looked at Gu Yiming, who was determined, and thought to herself that she would definitely not be able to fool him this time, so she anxiously thought of other ways.
Jiang Hua rolled her eyes and stretched her feet out in front of Gu Yiming. "I walked all the way here because I couldn't get a taxi. Look, my feet are all red." She then shook her swollen feet as if to prove herself.
Gu Yiming looked at Jiang Hua's outstretched foot, and the anger in his eyes subsided a little. "Why couldn't you get a taxi?"
Jiang Hua looked aggrieved. "All the cars I saw were occupied. I was afraid of being late and making you angry, so I kept walking and trying to hail a taxi. I got here but still didn't see a car. My feet are all swollen."
Jiang Hua touched her feet, feeling smug. Gu Yiming had finally stopped asking about that matter.
Gu Yiming naturally noticed the smug look that flashed across Jiang Hua's face. He leaned down, braced himself on his arms, and pulled Jiang Hua into his embrace. "Really? Then I'll take a look at you in a bit. Now, you need to explain the child to me clearly." Gu Yiming smiled as he looked at Jiang Hua.
Jiang Hua felt like crying. Why was Gu Yiming so persistent, still asking about this matter? Jiang Hua decided to use her trump card. She grabbed Gu Yiming's tie, pulled him in front of her, and gently wrapped her arms around his neck, trying to seduce him with her beauty.
