Chapter 541 Deciding to Go Back

Su Wenwen was furious when she heard Fei Yiming's threatening voice on the phone. Did he even care about this job? If Fei Yiming was threatening her, she could just quit. There were plenty of other companies to choose from.

Su Wenwen wrote a resignation letter and took it to the HR department's office. Seeing the HR manager looking at the documents, she mustered her courage and went in. The HR manager found it strange that Su Wenwen had suddenly come to see her. She didn't remember Su Wenwen coming to see her for anything.

Seeing the puzzled look on the HR manager's face, Su Wenwen picked up her resignation letter and placed it on the table, saying seriously, "I want to resign. I don't want to work here anymore. I'm here to give you my resignation letter. If you take a look and there are no problems, I'll go pack my things. Anyway, I don't feel like I'm here anymore."

The HR manager understood when she saw that Su Wenwen had come to resign. Her eyes were filled with inquiry as she looked at Su Wenwen. Su Wenwen must know that she still had a few years left on her contract. She checked Su Wenwen's information and discovered a big problem: Su Wenwen clearly had a few years left on her contract. Could she afford the penalty for resigning now?

The HR manager thought Su Wenwen was doing well, but noticed that Su Wenwen seemed indifferent. She wondered if Su Wenwen didn't know she still had a contract. She looked at Su Wenwen and said, "You can resign if you want, but you need to go to the finance department and pay the penalty fee first. After you pay it, we'll consider you gone. Otherwise, there's nothing to discuss."

Su Wenwen was originally in a righteous mood, but she found the HR manager's words strange. Why should she pay a penalty? She had already calculated that they wouldn't give her her salary, but now she was being asked to pay a penalty. She looked at the HR manager very strangely.

Just as Su Wenwen was about to ask why she had to pay a penalty, the HR manager seemed to read her mind and explained, "Don't blame me. There's a reason why I'm making you pay a penalty. The penalty is because your contract here still has several years left. If you resign now, you'll have to pay a penalty since you've already signed the contract."

Su Wenwen almost vomited blood. She had really forgotten about the contract. Looking at the document in the HR manager's hand, she didn't know whether she should resign or not. But if she didn't resign, would the HR manager have a bad impression of her? Thinking of this, she said to the HR manager, "How much is the penalty for breach of contract? Give me a number."

The HR manager shook her head helplessly. Su Wenwen was still determined to resign, but didn't she know that the penalty for breach of contract was three times her salary? No matter how much salary she received, it would be paid at three times that amount. Looking at Su Wenwen's fearless expression, she said, "The penalty for breach of contract is calculated based on your salary. No matter how much salary you received, it will be calculated at three times that amount."

Su Wenwen initially thought that if it wasn't a large amount, paying a penalty wouldn't be a big deal. However, when she heard what the HR manager said, she was shocked and her eyes widened. It was three times her salary, such a large sum that she couldn't afford to pay. She looked at the HR manager somewhat awkwardly and said, "Um, could I take back what I just said? Please pretend I never came to resign. Thank you, manager."

The HR manager didn't intend to make things difficult for Su Wenwen and let her go. However, Su Wenwen knew that if she stayed, she would still be bullied because Fei Yiming had said he would make her life difficult. Now there was nothing she could do, and she felt somewhat helpless. Ever since her failed resignation attempt, Su Wenwen had inexplicably begun experiencing bullying at the company.

However, Jiang Hua had no idea that Su Wenwen was having a bad time at the company. Every time Su Wenwen came home from get off work, she would smile at Jiang Hua. No matter how smart Jiang Hua was, if she saw someone smiling and chatting with her, she would never think that something bad had happened.

Originally, it was thought that things would continue as planned, but Su Wenwen was in such a hurry that day that she forgot to take her phone. Jiang Hua was the one who did the laundry and cooking at Su Wenwen's house. When she saw the clothes that Su Wenwen had changed out of, she didn't think much of it and picked them up to wash them.

As Jiang Hua was holding Su Wenwen's clothes, Su Wenwen's phone suddenly slipped out of the pocket. Jiang Hua picked up the phone and was about to put it away when she accidentally turned it on. Jiang Hua glanced at Su Wenwen's phone and suddenly saw a message from Fei Yiming.

Jiang Hua perked up upon seeing this and quickly opened Su Wenwen's phone to check. To her surprise, she discovered something shocking: Fei Yiming was threatening Su Wenwen to return home. Jiang Hua knew from this message that something must have happened to Su Wenwen at the company.

Thinking of Su Wenwen's actions for her, she suddenly became angry and dialed Fei Yiming's number. Fei Yiming's phone suddenly rang on the table. Looking at the caller ID, he saw it was Su Wenwen. He guessed that Su Wenwen was calling to discuss Jiang Hua's matter, and with that thought, Fei Yiming happily answered the phone.

Jiang Hua was furious when she saw him answer the phone. She angrily yelled into the phone, "Fei Yiming, what exactly do you want? Have you no shame? You're threatening a woman! Don't you know Su Wenwen has nothing to do with this? If you want to threaten someone, you shouldn't be targeting someone like her!"

Fei Yiming didn't expect it to be Jiang Hua calling. If it was Jiang Hua, it meant she had seen the message. If that was the case, things would be much easier. Fei Yiming said to Jiang Hua in a calm voice, "I still need to see what you choose. Whether you come back or not, Su Wenwen's fate will be different."

Jiang Hua felt it was her fault that Su Wenwen had to suffer this injustice. She felt she had let Su Wenwen down. Looking at Su Wenwen's phone, she felt she couldn't drag Su Wenwen down any further. She said to Fei Yiming on the other end of the phone, "Fei Yiming, I'm going home. Don't drag Su Wenwen down with you. Su Wenwen has nothing to do with this. She's a victim too."
