Having said enough, Gu Yiming lowered his voice and asked, "Did you miss me while I was gone?"
Even if he misses her, he won't tell her, lest she get too smug. Instead, he'll change the subject, saying, "Oh dear, I'm so busy, rushing to events every day. I don't have time to think about anything else."
Not getting a satisfactory answer, Gu Yiming was a little annoyed and hung up the phone after saying a few hurried words. He was also very busy, and he had finally managed to find time to call her, only to be met with her not answering his questions properly; he was quite upset.
Two days later, her agency told her to attend the press conference at 10 a.m. sharp, and her manager arrived just then, hoping to encourage her. The press conference was packed with reporters from major websites and newspapers, all there to watch the drama unfold, and of course, getting the headlines was also very important.
The agent, holding a microphone, said in a very official tone, "Thank you all for attending this press conference. We will respond today to questions regarding whether my artist breached the contract and the truth of the matter at the time." She handed the microphone to Jiang Hua.
Taking a breath, Jiang Hua picked up the microphone her agent handed her and gave a perfectly timed smile, saying, "Let me explain what really happened that day. I had changed my clothes and was getting ready for the shoot... No matter how I posed, he wasn't satisfied. Then he came over and pretended to teach me how to pose, but actually he was just taking advantage of me and started touching me inappropriately. I got angry, and we started arguing. To prevent him from harassing me again, I had to fight back."
The reporters below began whispering among themselves, trying to discern the truth of the matter. One of them stood up and asked, "But what he said is completely contrary to what you said. How can we prove that what you said is true?"
This is a common problem among journalists: they always want to get to the bottom of everything. Jiang Hua is used to it. She calmly said, "It is precisely because he spread rumors and caused trouble that I have to clarify the facts. Even if he hadn't started the trouble, I would not have let him off the hook. Such evil deeds must be exposed to the public."
Seeing her firm and serious tone, and the logic in her words, the reporters present began to believe her. However, some still questioned her, saying with ill intent, "But everyone thinks you're just trying to create hype by deliberately framing him. After all, he has resources. Aren't you trying to use him to climb the ladder?"
“I don’t know where you got this conclusion from. Let me reiterate, it was a hypocritical photographer who tried to take advantage of me. After I caught him doing something wrong, he turned around and accused me of breaching the contract by not shooting. According to the contract, I should pay a penalty for breach of contract. But his behavior is really despicable. He’s a pervert.” Jiang Hua replied righteously.
Finally, the agent added: "No one would joke about their innocence. We don't need his help. Even if you want to be famous, you should have dignity. Please respect female artists. We hope that netizens who are unaware of the situation will not make malicious comments. We are holding this press conference to protect our own rights."
The whole process took more than an hour. After everything was clarified, it's believed that it will be difficult for anyone to hire this photographer again.
Jiang Hua's words naturally caused a stir. The fact that the photographer dared to lay a hand on Jiang Hua meant that this wasn't the first time he'd done something like this. So, after the news spread, Jiang Hua quickly received word that several people had followed her and revealed more about the photographer.
As the matter reached a fever pitch, Jiang Hua's agent received some information and called Jiang Hua.
Jiang Hua, who was at home, saw the call from her agent and guessed that it was related to the photographer.
“As for the painting, I just got some new information. That photographer is quite famous in China, and he's won a lot of awards, big and small.” As she spoke, she said sarcastically with a hint of anger, “He did a lot of things before he did that to you, but he only did them to minor celebrities and didn't dare to make a big fuss. He probably figured that those minor celebrities weren't very popular, and not many people would believe it if he told them.”
Jiang Hua wasn't too surprised by her agent's words. So she smiled and said, "Anyway, I guess not many people will ask him to do anything these days."
The agent chuckled and said, "Serves him right! Who told him to be so handsy? Okay, I'll hang up now. I still have some things to finish. I called you as soon as I got the message. I'll get back to work now."
"good!"
After hanging up the phone, Jiang Hua felt a little bored. She stood up, walked to the balcony, and stretched. Feeling thirsty, she went to get some water, and after drinking it, went straight into the bedroom.
In a small villa somewhere, a man stared at his phone with a sinister expression. The veins on his hands bulged, and suddenly he raised his hand and smashed the phone to pieces.
"Very good! They actually held a press conference." The man's tone was tinged with rage. As he spoke, a ruthless glint flashed in his eyes.
"You'll regret this!"
If Jiang Hua saw this man, she would definitely burst out laughing. Because he was the photographer, and Jiang Hua's press conference had already caused many companies and businesses that had originally booked with him to call and cancel their contracts.
At first, the photographer didn't know what had happened. When he was about to ask, he was scolded by the CEO of one of the companies who called him personally.
The gist of it is that someone like him has no right to film for his company; is he trying to ruin his products?
The photographer immediately understood what was going on. He quickly went online and saw the video of the woman's press conference from yesterday, which was filled with angry comments.
It was obvious he was doomed; his expression turned sour. Today, many businesses deleted all the photos and videos they had previously commissioned him to take, and some even came out to clarify that they had terminated their contracts with him.
The photographer had risen from humble beginnings, and now that his reputation had fallen, it meant that no one would hire him to take photos anymore, so he immediately began to hate Jiang Hua.
