"Sorry." Gu Yiming smiled at Jiang Hua. "It's not late now. Aren't you very tired? You should rest. Let's go to sleep now."
Gu Yiming patted her head, tossed his phone aside, and lay down.
When Jiang Shiwan woke up, it was already daytime. As soon as she got up, she wanted to check her trending topics, but she didn't expect that her own topic had already gone down, while the top topic was the one between Jiang Hua and Gu Yiming.
She couldn't help but get annoyed, her fingers tightening. Why were these two people so persistent?
Jiang Shiwan was dissatisfied, so she called her assistant and asked him to check Jiang Hua's recent activities, and if there were any, to take them away from her.
"So, did you find anything?"
Jiang Shiwan waited patiently for the result, her fingers tapping slowly on the table, looking quite relaxed.
"We found out. Jiang Hua recently took on a TV series role as the female lead. Do you want to take that role?"
Jiang Shiwan raised her eyebrows: "Isn't that right? Or do you want me to play the second female lead, to be under Jiang Hua?"
The assistant paused, realizing this was the prelude to Jiang Shiwan's outburst, and suddenly wanted to slap himself for saying that.
"Sorry, I'll contact the production team for you right away."
"I don't want you to ask me questions like that again. Remember that, or you'll be fired."
"I see."
The phone call ended after he finished speaking.
"I'm really looking forward to seeing you get furious, Jiang Hua, my dear sister."
Jiang Shiwan felt very excited just thinking about that scene.
She had wanted to see it for a long time, but Gu Yiming had always been protecting her. This time, she was finally caught.
......
When Jiang Hua woke up, Gu Yiming was no longer beside her. After washing up, she went downstairs to have breakfast.
The meal was festive. One dish was a culinary disaster made by Gu Yiming himself, his loving breakfast, and the other was made by the kitchen auntie, sweet, delicious, and colorful.
The comparison is simply appalling, and it's truly remarkable that Gu Yiming had the courage to put his achievements up for display.
Jiang Hua couldn't help but find it amusing.
"Young Master Gu had something to do this morning and left early. He spent a lot of time making this breakfast. He said it's okay if you don't eat it since it's not very palatable."
The maid spoke respectfully beside her.
"It's alright, it's already good enough that she can do it."
"Should I throw this away?" Although it was Gu Yiming's good intention, it was clearly inedible. Gu Yiming knew that he couldn't just eat it and get sick because of someone else's face.
The maid was thinking this, and reached out to pour it out.
"Keep it for now, it's pleasing to the eye."
"I see."
The maid didn't say much and left, leaving Jiang Hua alone in the hall. However, the culinary disaster beside her made her feel somewhat warm.
A moment later, Jiang Hua got ready and went to the film set, but the atmosphere there seemed rather low and gloomy.
She intended to find a place to sit down and then look for the director later, but in the blink of an eye, she saw her angry assistant walking towards her.
"What's wrong?"
Jiang Hua tilted her head.
"Perfect timing, now that you're here. I'll take you to find the director and have a word with him." The assistant gritted his teeth, "Who does he think he is, acting like people are fighting over his scripts?"
Jiang Hua followed behind her assistant with a puzzled expression, pursing her lips, unsure of what to say.
What happened?
"The director gave your role to someone else without our consent. It's disgusting."
"What?"
Jiang Hua was taken aback.
"Just talk to him and reason with him."
As soon as the assistant ran to the director's side, he immediately pointed at the man's nose and questioned him.
"The main character has arrived. What explanation or account do you have to give?"
The man yawned, seemingly not taking these things to heart at all: "Oh, it's you."
He glanced at Jiang Hua indifferently, seemingly unconcerned.
Give me an explanation.
Jiang Hua's tone was cold, her eyes filled only with dissatisfaction. She didn't care about the opportunity to act in this production; it wasn't something unattainable.
I was just bullied for no reason, so I had to get an explanation.
"There's someone I think is more suited to play the lead role than you."
The man stared intently, his expression seemingly saying that she was inferior in skill and yet dared to come to him for advice.
"....."
Jiang Hua opened her mouth, but then realized that arguing any further seemed pointless.
She didn't even compare herself to that person, yet she knows she's better? Is she just imagining things in her own mind?
The assistant patted Jiang Hua on the shoulder, looking impatient: "But we agreed beforehand that Jiang Hua would play the female lead. How can you go back on your word now? Besides, how do you know that person acted better than Jiang Hua without even comparing them? That's clearly prejudice."
"Didn't I just state my reasons? I'm the director, so I make the decisions. Are you deaf? Or are you questioning my ability as a director?"
The man raised his eyebrows and held his head high.
"If that's the case, why did you still agree to let Huahua play the female lead? Are you trying to embarrass her?" The assistant really wanted to say that she was questioning her, but after thinking about it, she decided not to say it.
"Hey, how can you make such baseless accusations? How did I embarrass her? Are you trying to pin a huge label on me? Besides, we haven't even signed a contract yet, so how can you go back on your word?"
"you!"
"But there's still an empty spot for the second female lead, who's not much different from the first female lead."
