"Jiang Hua"
She practically spat it out through gritted teeth. She really wanted to punch Jiang Hua in the face right now. She'd be so happy to win, why was she pretending to be so profound? Disgusting.
Jiang Hua's victorious smile was still on her face, but she wasn't particularly happy about winning the competition; she simply enjoyed the feeling of beating Jiang Shiwan. Afterwards, Jiang Shiwan walked over with a beaming smile and said, "Congratulations, little sister, you won the lead role." Jiang Hua chuckled, "How could I let my older sister say that?" Even though Jiang Hua said this, her face still conveyed an expression that said, "Yes, my acting is better than yours, and you can't deny it." Jiang Shiwan looked slightly embarrassed and could only say, "It's because my skills are inferior." Jiang Hua didn't speak, only looking at her with a disdainful smile. Seeing that Jiang Hua wasn't going to give her any face, Jiang Shiwan said, "I still need to touch up my makeup," and left.
Jiang Hua's smile slowly froze and then disappeared. "Heh..." Jiang Hua let out a short laugh, not even knowing whether she was laughing at herself or at Jiang Shiwan's sullen appearance.
"Drawing? Drawing?" The agent's voice pulled Jiang Hua out of her reverie. "...Hmm? What's wrong?" The agent looked at her with some concern and said, "Take a look at the script yourself first." Jiang Hua took the script, and the character settings on the first page disgusted her. The Mary Sue-ish and clichéd campus romance that followed made it impossible for Jiang Hua to continue reading, let alone act in it. Jiang Hua decided to go and discuss it with the director, but unfortunately, she saw the director whispering something to an unfamiliar man wearing a hat. Jiang Hua quietly approached and vaguely heard some things that made her even more nauseous.
"Director... do you think this play is alright?" the man in the hat said to the director in a very low voice. The director squinted, seemingly dissatisfied. "This plot... is too clichéd. The audience has seen it a hundred or eighty times..." The man in the hat was silent for a moment, then, as if making up his mind, he showed the number "5" with his watch. The director paused slightly, then continued to squint and slowly said, "Oh, it's not about the money..." The man in the hat steeled himself again and gestured the number "7." The director smiled and then said, "Oh, well... it's not impossible..." The man in the hat breathed a sigh of relief, then smiled and whispered something in the director's ear, which Jiang Hua really couldn't hear.
Jiang Hua turned and left without hesitation. She utterly despised scripts that were worthless and failed to showcase an actor's talent. She went straight to her agent, who seemed to have been waiting for her. "So, what's up? Don't you like the script?" Jiang Hua interrupted, "You know that? You know what kind of production team you found for me? Huh?" The agent was bewildered, then after a moment, explained, "No, Hua Hua, listen to me..." "What are you talking about! Either you find me a relatively good production team right now, or you're fired!" The agent, already timid, became even more so upon hearing this, hurriedly nodding and bowing, saying, "Yes, yes, I'll go right away!" Jiang Hua rolled her eyes dismissively, "None of you are any good."
"Drawing, drawing, drawing!" The agent rushed over, still out of breath. "I...I...I found it...Oh no, I'm exhausted...Phew..." Seeing how tired he was, Jiang Hua handed him a bottle of water. "Here, here, have some water. Take it easy..." Once the agent had recovered most of his strength, Jiang Hua asked, "How was it? Did you find it?" The agent nodded quickly. "Yes, although it's not a very big production, the director is definitely of good character, and the script isn't so sloppy. But...the only drawback is...this drama only has the second female lead left...This is the most suitable production in terms of time right now." The agent looked at her expectantly. "...How was it?" Jiang Hua nodded. "Hmm...it went well this time. Pack your things, tell the director, and get ready to go."
The agent cautiously approached the director, saying, "This... Director, you see..." The director looked puzzled, "What's wrong? Is there a problem with Huahua?" The agent shook his head, just as he felt Jiang Hua's gaze on him. He encouraged himself: Don't chicken out! We're here to reject him, why are we chickening out...? Then he said righteously, "Director, I'm sorry, this role isn't suitable for Huahua. Please find someone else." He turned away without hesitation, ignoring what the director said or his expression. Jiang Hua gave him a thumbs up, "You were handsome for just this one moment," Jiang Hua said with satisfaction.
Gu's Group
"Mr. Gu, we just received some news," said Gu Yiming's assistant. "What news?" "It's about Miss Jiang..." Gu Yiming's attention immediately focused. "What happened to Miss Jiang? Tell us quickly." "Miss Jiang... nothing much, she just switched to a new production team." Gu Yiming narrowed his eyes. "Is there a reason?" "The reason is still unclear, but what is clear is that Miss Jiang didn't switch production teams because someone bullied her." Gu Yiming breathed a sigh of relief. "Good." The assistant paused, then prompted, "Mr. Gu... do you think we should continue investing in the original production team?" Gu Yiming chuckled. "Heh, why would I invest in a production team that even painting wouldn't approve of? Withdraw." "Yes."
film crew
"What?! Gu Yiming is withdrawing his investment?!" the director shouted in the studio. "I was already furious when Jiang Hua left, and now Gu Yiming is withdrawing his investment..." The director seemed to suddenly realize something, and his eyes widened. "This...this Jiang Hua isn't Gu Yiming's person, is he?!" The director stared blankly, plopped down in his seat, and didn't know what to say, only muttering "It's over, it's over..."
"Go and call Jiang Shiwan over here!" the director said to his assistant. Soon, Jiang Shiwan appeared before the director. "Director...you wanted to see me?" Jiang Shiwan asked cautiously. The director, looking at Jiang Shiwan, was furious. "Look at you! What are you doing here with such terrible acting skills? Now look what's happened! Jiang Hua is gone, and now there's no one to invest in the production. The production is just an empty shell!" Jiang Shiwan looked bewildered. "Director...I...what did I do?" Seeing her clueless expression, the director became even more annoyed and threatened her directly: "The responsibility is all yours now! I'm telling you, you have to invest in the production right now, invest in this drama!"
