Jiang Hua said she forgave him, but Ye Muchen didn't believe her. He felt that although Jiang Hua said she forgave him, she still blamed him in her heart. Otherwise, she wouldn't have been so cold to him.
“I really regret leaving you back then, but I really had no choice. I couldn’t control the situation at the time. My family was pressuring me to go abroad to develop my career. I originally refused, but they cut off all my options. If I didn’t go abroad, I wouldn’t be able to make it in China. I wouldn’t mind myself, but I didn’t want you to suffer with me. Ye Muchen said a lot, and Jiang Hua understood that he was explaining why he had abandoned her and gone abroad alone before. However, Jiang Hua didn't care about any of that anymore. She might have been quite sad back then, but today she no longer had the feelings she once had.
So these explanations were of no use to him.
"Okay, I understand. You don't need to explain so much to me. I've already said I don't blame you. Please don't dwell on this anymore."
"Really? You don't blame me? That's wonderful! I knew you still cared about me and wouldn't hold a grudge forever. I've achieved success in America now and can give you a good life. Would you like to come abroad with me?" Ye Muchen looked at Jiang Hua with deep affection and began his confession. He assumed that Jiang Hua's forgiveness meant she wanted to be with him.
But all of this was just wishful thinking on his part; Jiang Hua had no such thoughts at all.
Jiang Hua, on the other hand, felt speechless, wondering why Ye Muchen would suddenly say such a thing, which made her feel very frightened.
But her purpose in coming here today was to make things clear to him: she was no longer the same person she used to be.
So Jiang Hua solemnly told Ye Mucheng, "I can't go abroad with you, and I can't be with you anymore. I'm already married. I love my fiancé very much. We love each other very much, and I'm very happy. I won't leave him."
Jiang Hua made it very clear that she hoped Ye Mucheng could understand and give up. There was absolutely no possibility of them ever getting back together.
