By the time Jiang Hua had basically finished reading the script, her assistant had returned, carrying two bowls of porridge. She handed them to Jiang Hua and gestured for her to eat quickly. Then, she picked up her report and began to recount the day's events. Jiang Hua, very professionally focused, immediately put on her report, temporarily banishing all her worries.
Gu Yiming sat in his office all night without closing his eyes, feeling that Jiang Hua's shadow was everywhere. So he sighed dejectedly and made a phone call to ask someone to come up.
About two weeks later, Jiang Hua had been too busy and hadn't had a proper rest or meal, so she had lost a lot of weight. Her assistant noticed this but didn't say anything, only frequently hinting that she should eat something. But this was a misunderstanding on Jiang Hua's part; it wasn't that she didn't want to eat, but rather that she had no appetite and felt shaky even when holding food.
When the recording of the program ended, Jiang Hua felt completely relaxed. In that moment of relaxation, her vision went black and she fainted. Everyone on set was stunned for a moment and didn't react quickly. By the time they did react, everything was in chaos. Her assistant hurriedly called 120 for an ambulance.
The doctors and nurses were in a flurry of activity, and the results of the examination revealed it was low blood sugar! The consequence of not eating and resting properly. The assistant, relieved, sighed and went back to the company to report. When Jiang Hua woke up, she was alone in the ward with only a nurse taking care of her.
Seeing that she was awake, the nurse quickly went over and examined her carefully. "Do you need anything?" she asked. Jiang Hua shook her head and softly said thank you. The nurse smiled and turned to go find the doctor. For some reason, when Jiang Hua saw the doctor, she felt that he seemed to be blaming her...
The doctor looked at her sternly: "Ms. Jiang, are you aware that you are pregnant?" Jiang Hua froze, staring blankly at the doctor in disbelief. Seeing her reaction, the doctor understood and took out the ultrasound image from her abdomen: "It's like this, according to our examination, you are approximately two months pregnant..."
Jiang Hua wasn't paying attention to what was said after that; only one sentence kept repeating in her mind: She was pregnant... two months along. This was truly a bittersweet thought. Thinking of the little life growing inside her, Jiang Hua couldn't help but touch her belly.
"Luckily, this child is strong, otherwise, with all this suffering, she probably would have miscarried." After the doctor finished his serious lecture, he saw that Jiang Hua seemed to realize her mistake, so he looked at her with a stern face for a while. Seeing that she was staring at him blankly, she seemed to find it hard to accept this reality.
"Doctor, I can't keep this child." Jiang Hua hesitated for a long time before finally saying it. She currently lacked the ability to raise this child, and to give birth to him now would be irresponsible to both the child and herself. Besides... the child's father didn't trust her.
Jiang Hua was afraid that if she told Gu Yiming that she was pregnant, he would make wild guesses and then sarcastically ask her what would happen if the child wasn't his. She wasn't prepared to face Gu Yiming's various emotions and speculations.
The doctor didn't seem surprised by her request, but still dutifully advised, "You should think carefully about whether or not to keep the baby." Then, feeling he should add, "Discuss it thoroughly with the child's father." With that, he left.
In the ward, Jiang Hua seemed to be possessed, idly touching her belly. When her assistant arrived at the hospital, she was like a puppet, sitting blankly by the window, seemingly lost in thought. All that could be seen was her idly stroking her belly, gazing at it with a tender expression.
Jiang Hua sighed as she looked at her assistant, "Please postpone my trip." There was a lot of helplessness in her voice. The assistant paused for a moment, then immediately nodded in understanding, "Yes, your health is more important." She then got up and handed her the soup she had brought, saying, "I'm going to the company now." She then slowly left.
It has to be said that this assistant is actually quite kind to her. By now, news about her should be everywhere. Jiang Hua began to look forward to seeing what Gu Yiming would think, so she couldn't help but look at her phone.
When the time was almost up, Jiang Hua glanced at the time, sighed, and hesitated, looking at that familiar name. After hesitating for a long time, she finally decided to give up and call her best friend, Su Wenwen.
Su Wenwen answered the phone without thinking when she saw it was Jiang Hua calling, but then she heard faint sobs on the other end. She was stunned for a moment: "Huahua, what's wrong?" This wasn't the Jiang Hua she knew.
"Wenwen, I'm pregnant." Jiang Hua calmed herself down and took two deep breaths. "But I don't want this child." She covered her face and began to sob softly. Su Wenwen frowned slightly. She was certain there was some misunderstanding, and it was probably related to Gu Yiming.
"Don't think about this for now. Go lie down and rest for a while." Su Wenwen quickly began to comfort Jiang Hua. "Rest and think calmly about whether to keep the baby or not." After she finished speaking, Jiang Hua fell silent, seemingly seriously considering the question.
Su Wenwen was already cursing Gu Yiming to the core in her mind when suddenly something occurred to her: "Did you tell him if you're pregnant?" Jiang Hua softly replied, "No." This almost made Su Wenwen roll her eyes in anger. She figured Jiang Hua's mind was probably a complete mess right now, and if she didn't tell Gu Yiming at a time like this, they'd probably really have a falling out.
Thinking about this, and the thought of having to put in so much effort to reconcile these two people, I felt utterly powerless and frustrated. "So, are you going to tell him?" After saying that, I realized I'd really asked a pointless question. We're not even planning to have the baby, so what's the point of talking about telling him? I must be losing my mind.
As expected, Jiang Hua remained silent when asked this question. Seeing that she was unwilling to answer, Su Wenwen did not force her: "You should rest well and think about it carefully." After saying that, she hung up. Looking at the overseas scenery, Su Wenwen felt that she had an obligation to tell Gu Yiming about this matter.
After all, he is still the father of that child, so it's best to inform him about such an important matter as the abortion.
So, after some hesitation, she dialed Gu Yiming's number. Gu Yiming was on the other end of the line, processing documents and trying to confuse her. When he saw that it was Su Wenwen calling, he hesitated for a moment but still answered.
