Chapter Fourteen: Training Begins

University cafeteria.

Looking at Jiang Hua, who was gnawing on a large chicken leg, Yang Lili couldn't help but sigh, "Sigh, how can such a pretty girl be such a fool?"

Jiang Hua frowned, pretending to hit her, and said, "Who are you calling a big idiot?" Then she took another bite of the chicken leg.

"If I don't say it, who else can I say it?" Yang Lili ate a few more mouthfuls of rice, wiped her mouth, and looked at her seriously.

"Although you're very good-looking, it would be a waste if you didn't go out and about. Besides, you're not interested in being introduced to a boyfriend. All you do is play games all day. Can games give you a boyfriend?"

“Yeah, yeah, Xiaohua, you’re cooped up in your dorm all day, I feel like you’re going to get moldy,” Xu Meng chimed in. “How about I take you with me when I go out tonight? There’s a party tonight, lots of handsome guys and beautiful girls, there’s bound to be someone you like.”

“Yes, Xiaohua, you need to dress yourself up so that boys will like you and pursue you. Although we are naturally beautiful, we still need to dress up. But we can’t settle for less; we need to find those with good conditions.” Ji Kexin only drank a bowl of white fungus and lotus seed soup for dinner, taking a small spoonful and drinking it down as she spoke.

Jiang Hua finished the rest of the chicken leg in a few bites and then took a spoonful of soup.

"Are you all so worried that I won't be able to get married? I'm still young, no rush."

“Even if you don’t find a boyfriend, you should at least go out and about. All you do is stay in your dorm playing games all day, and lately you’ve been chatting with other people on voice chat all the time,” Yang Lili said helplessly.

"Oh dear, the three of you could open a marriage agency, please let me go. I already told you, there's a competition going on recently, and I want to get the Alice's Scepter. I promise that after I get the 'Alice's Miracle' Scepter, I'll play fewer games and go out with you guys more often, okay?" Jiang Hua begged repeatedly.

Jiang Hua's three roommates exchanged glances and sighed helplessly.

"Besides, who knows, maybe I'll actually bring you guys a boyfriend in the game?" Jiang Hua said to them with a grin.

"No way?!" the three people exclaimed, looking at her.

"Did you fall in love online?" Xu Meng asked her incredulously.

"Is it the person you chat with via voice every day?" Yang Lili pressed.

"Oh, no, I meant hypothetically. You all know me, I wouldn't do so many things." Jiang Hua took another bite of the pork ribs in the tea tree mushroom and pork rib soup and replied.

"Tch," the three answered in unison.

After dinner, Jiang Hua and her three roommates took a few laps around the playground.

Back in her dorm, Jiang Hua immediately turned on her computer. They had agreed to train from 7 to 9 pm, and there were only ten minutes left. Her slender fingers flew across the keyboard, and she quickly logged into the game.

Before she could even contact Yi Gu and the gang members to start training, the message from that pay-to-win player started harassing her again.

[Chat] [Romantic Bookworm]: Little Painter, you haven't been talking to me lately...

[Chat] [Di Ruhua]: I've been busy lately.

[Chat] [Romantic Bookworm]: Little Painter, I know you want to obtain that Alice's Miracle.

[Chat] [Di Ruhua]: Yes, that's why I don't have much time left.

[Chat] [Romantic Bookworm]: Then I'll practice with you. I recently got some new equipment, it's really powerful. If you want new equipment for drawing too, just tell me, I'll buy it for you. Don't worry about spending my money, I have plenty.

[Chat] [Di Ruhua]: But I don't have any special relationship with you, so I can't use yours. Thank you for your kindness.

[Chat] [Romantic Bookworm]: It's okay, don't you know how I feel about you?

[Chat] [Di Ruhua]: I know, but I'm sorry, I don't want to be in a relationship yet.

[Chat] [Romantic Bookworm]: That's not very interesting of you to say it like that.

[Chat] [Romantic Bookworm]: Can't you say something nice to me? I've been pursuing you for so long.

Jiang Hua looked at the message he sent and was at a loss for words.

[Chat] [A Glance]: Aren't you ready to draw yet?

The pop-up chat interface seemed to save Jiang Hua, making her eyes light up.

[Chat] [Di Ruhua]: Yi Gu, may I ask you a favor?

[Chat] [A Glance]: You say.

[Chat] [Di Ruhua]: There's a guy who's been pursuing me in the game for a long time, but I don't want to be with him. He just contacted me again, and I was thinking... could you help me fend him off in your name?

[Chat] [A Glance]: In my name?

[Chat] [Di Ruhua]: It's just... asking you to pretend to be my game partner...

Jiang Hua was incredibly embarrassed; how could she have come up with such a plan? But to be honest, if that pay-to-win player knew she had a boyfriend, he would probably back off, and in that case, telling this lie wouldn't really be considered a lie.

[Chat] [Di Ruhua]: Okay.

[Chat] [A Glance]: Do you need my help?

[Chat] [Di Ruhua]: It's nothing, no need. I just wanted to let you know so I could ask you to help me fend off him.

[Chat] [A glance]: Okay.

[Chat] [Romantic Bookworm]: Little Painter, why are you ignoring me again?

[Chat] [Romantic Bookworm]: Poke it.

[Chat] [Di Ruhua]: I... I may not be able to accept your advances, and please don't come looking for me again.

Jiang Hua always felt that lying was a bit strange, so she couldn't type properly.

[Chat] [The Bookish Gentleman]: Why! Give me a reason!

[Chat] [Di Ruhua]: I...I have a boyfriend.

[Chat] [The Bookish Gentleman]: Who is it?!

[Chat] [Di Ruhua]: Don't get so agitated.

[Chat] [Romantic Bookworm]: Okay, tell me, and I'll never bother you again.

[Chat] [Di Ruhua]: A glance.
