Ji Kexin chatted with Jiang Hua, which helped Jiang Hua recover quite a bit from the setbacks she had suffered in recent days. Seeing that it was getting late, Jiang Hua slowly stood up. "Let's go to the infirmary, or they'll be closing soon." Seeing that Jiang Hua was joking, Ji Kexin figured she was probably not so upset anymore, so she agreed and took Jiang Hua's arm, leading her to the infirmary.
"I wondered who it was, but it turns out it's our old friend visiting us again." The doctor, who rushed to open the door after hearing the knock, recognized Jiang Hua at a glance and couldn't help but joke like this.
"She only came here once before because she was injured during military training, so don't joke around with her. Come in and sit down, Jiang Hua." A female doctor peeked towards the door from behind. Jiang Hua recognized her as the doctor who had treated her before, and a warm feeling of gratitude welled up in her heart. She nodded and let Ji Kexin help her slowly step into the medical room and sit down.
Spending time with the familiar doctors made Jiang Hua feel much more relaxed, and the sadness on her face disappeared, replaced by a bright smile.
"I should have advised you to rest for a few more days, but since you're still going to participate in the basketball friendly league tomorrow, don't move around too much today." The doctor gently instructed as he bandaged Jiang Hua's injury. "Fortunately, this sprain wasn't too serious. The swelling will go down after applying this medicine for a while."
"Thank you so much." As she was leaving, Jiang Hua stood at the door of the infirmary and turned back to thank the doctors.
Jiang Hua felt much better after her sprained ankle, and her steps became lighter. As she walked to the corner of the stairs, she vaguely saw a familiar figure standing outside her dormitory. When she went up to look, she found that it was none other than Zhao Nian.
Zhao Nian was carrying a bag on her back and stood at the dormitory entrance looking somewhat hesitant. Jiang Hua called out to her and greeted her. Zhao Nian's eyes lit up immediately, and she waved her arm to Jiang Hua.
"Why did you come so suddenly? You didn't even tell us, making us stand at the door for so long." Jiang Hua said to Zhao Nian, a little embarrassed, as she took out her keys to open the dormitory door. Zhao Nian, however, showed no displeasure. "It's alright, I didn't wait here for long." The group stepped into the room together, and Jiang Hua handed Zhao Nian a stool to sit on. Zhao Nian took her bag off her shoulder, rummaged through it for a while, and took out two cans of herbal tea, placing them in front of Jiang Hua before sitting down.
Jiang Hua was a little puzzled. "What are you doing? Why did you bring this here on purpose?"
Zhao Nian smiled slightly, "Ji Kexin told me you were injured. I was a little worried about you, so I took the liberty of going out and buying these to bring back to you. I hope they will help you recover." After saying that, Zhao Nian pushed the flower tea towards Jiang Hua, "Take it. These aren't anything expensive."
Thinking back to An Li's arrogant demeanor despite her sweet smile a few days ago, and seeing how Zhao Nian even bought her gifts because of her injury, Jiang Hua suddenly felt how much her friends valued and cared for her. She was so moved that she choked up and couldn't utter a word for a long time.
"Jiang Hua? Jiang Hua, what's wrong?" Ji Kexin, who was standing nearby, noticed that Jiang Hua had been keeping her head down and not saying a word, so she stepped forward and asked with some concern. Jiang Hua also realized that her silence was making the room a little awkward, so she quickly raised her head and replied, "I'm fine, I'm fine. Thank you, Zhao Nian."
"Oh, there's no need to thank me. Didn't you all say you would treat me as a friend? There's no need for such formalities between friends."
The group sat in the dormitory, chatting aimlessly. Every now and then, they would burst into laughter at a joke someone made. Jiang Hua almost felt that the unpleasant things from a while ago were just an unreal dream.
After Zhao Nian reluctantly left, the room suddenly felt somewhat deserted again. Jiang Hua listlessly flipped through the pages of her math textbook, her thoughts drifting away. Just two or three years ago, when she was still a high school student, she and Gu Yiming sat together in weather like this. Back then, Gu Yiming's face still retained some traces of youthful immaturity, unlike his mature and aloof demeanor now. But every time he bent down to explain math problems to Jiang Hua, his earnest profile, in her eyes, was a beautiful sight without needing much embellishment.
"What are you thinking about? You're so lost in thought, even smiling at yourself?" Ji Kexin patted Jiang Hua's shoulder from behind, pulling Jiang Hua out of her reverie. Her math textbook, open in front of her, was flipped to the chapter where the test was about to take place. Jiang Hua turned around and grabbed Ji Kexin's arm, her eyes sparkling. "Kexin, let's do some math problems together!"
Ji Kexin chuckled at Jiang Hua's sudden suggestion. "What's wrong? Haven't you always struggled with math? Now you suddenly have the energy to study it hard?" Jiang Hua stuck out her tongue sheepishly. "The test is coming up soon, and even if I have a headache, I can't avoid it. I might as well do more practice problems now." Since Jiang Hua was planning to get math tutoring, Ji Kexin didn't refuse. The two of them took out their notebooks and compared their records to see if there were any omissions.
Time seemed to fly by once you start studying. Jiang Hua finally put down her pen and draft paper, stood up, stretched, and noticed that it was already dark outside. She turned around, winked at Ji Kexin, and said, "You must be tired after doing so many problems with me. Let's call it a day. I haven't even had a chance to play the game yet."
Jiang Hua put away her textbooks and exercises, skillfully turned on her computer and logged into the game. As she was doing her daily tasks, a message suddenly popped up on her screen.
"Di Ruhua, I have a question for you."
"What's the problem?"
"Regarding 'Alice's Secret,' do you know how to obtain this reward?"
Upon seeing this, Jiang Hua couldn't help but feel puzzled. She clearly remembered that a few days ago, when she and Yi Gu led their guild members through the Spirit Beast Xuanwu dungeon, they had already obtained this reward. Why would he suddenly ask such a question now?
But Jiang Hua only thought about it for a moment, while her hands continued to rapidly type on the keyboard, telling Gu in detail how she obtained "Alice's Secret".
"What's wrong with Yi Gu today? Why did she suddenly ask about the reward she already received? And the tone of her voice... it doesn't sound like Yi Gu at all. Has something happened...?"
Xia Meng logged into the game on behalf of Gu Yiming. After asking about the matter, she briefly explained and then logged off. Jiang Hua, although she vaguely sensed that the person on the other end wasn't Gu Yiming himself, didn't ask any further questions. She simply completed her daily tasks as quickly as possible and then logged off to continue battling her math problems.
