Jiang Hua was overjoyed to receive Gu Yiming's agreement, but her happiness didn't last long before she lost her spirits. Not only Jiang Hua, but the entire dormitory seemed much quieter. Only after being dragged along by her roommates did Jiang Hua manage to muster a little energy, get up, wash up, and rush to the stadium to participate in the training for the basketball friendly match volunteer.
The volunteers were trained by a notoriously strict female physical education teacher. She immediately began by demanding specific postures from everyone: "During the competition, you will be on the field just like the athletes, and you represent the entire school. Get your spirits up! Pay attention to your posture!" Her voice, amplified many times over by the loudspeaker, struck everyone's eardrums, instantly jolting them into straightening up and standing perfectly aligned.
Jiang Hua mustered her strength and tried to stand up straight, but the training that lasted all afternoon yesterday had made her legs sore. Seeing that the teacher standing on the platform showed no sign of stopping and was quickly directing the volunteers' formation again with a megaphone, Jiang Hua felt a little tired but did not dare to relax. She just secretly shifted her weight from one foot to the other to relieve the soreness in her legs.
"Jiang Hua, Jiang Hua," a faint voice called from behind. Jiang Hua was still very sleepy and was suddenly awakened. She shook her head and turned around to look at her roommate who was behind her in line, puzzled. "You're still awake? Your head is almost drooping to your chest. I thought you had fallen asleep."
Jiang Hua smiled a little embarrassedly, quietly raised her hand to pat her cheek, and perked up as she listened to the teacher repeatedly instructing everyone to form a special formation.
The morning training finally came to an end, and Jiang Hua had long since recovered from her drowsiness. Touching her rumbling stomach, she grabbed her roommate and headed straight for the nearest cafeteria to the stadium. After finally getting a hot meal, Jiang Hua sighed, "I didn't realize how hard the volunteers worked. But with so much training, our performance on the field will definitely be amazing!" Her roommate laughed at her optimism, but she wasn't annoyed. "It's just that during this volunteer training period, I'm afraid I'll only have a very short time to touch my phone..."
After finishing their lunch, the two were heading back to their dormitory when they spotted Xu Lili in the hallway. They were about to greet their dorm leader when they noticed someone standing opposite Xu Lili. "That person… is Zhao Nian. What's she doing here? Does she need something from Xu Lili?" Jiang Hua thought to herself, subtly moving closer to try and overhear their conversation.
"Xu Lili, what exactly do you mean by doing this?" Zhao Nian became increasingly agitated, her voice growing louder, drawing the attention of students passing by in the dormitories. Jiang Hua realized the conflict couldn't escalate any further, so she quickly stepped forward, grabbing Xu Lili's arm and whispering advice in her ear while giving Zhao Nian a meaningful look. Zhao Nian remained silent. Xu Lili, though seething with anger, ultimately refrained from saying anything more under Jiang Hua's persuasion. She merely glared resentfully at Zhao Nian before being pulled back to the dormitory by Jiang Hua.
The group sat quietly in the dormitory for a long time. Xu Lili finally calmed down, but she was still somewhat dissatisfied. "I still can't accept it. Zhao Nian clearly came here on purpose to cause trouble. Why should I swallow my anger towards her?" Jiang Hua didn't quite understand what the entanglement between Xu Lili and Zhao Nian was. At this time, she could only coax Xu Lili in a low voice not to be angry. The problem would be resolved after the truth was found out.
Just then, there was a knock on the dormitory door. Jiang Hua and her two roommates exchanged a glance, and Jiang Hua stood up first. "Let me do it," she said, and opened the door. Standing outside was none other than Zhao Nian, who had just argued with Xu Lili. Everyone was somewhat surprised and wondered what Zhao Nian's intentions were.
Seeing that Xu Lili's expression still held a hint of displeasure, Jiang Hua pulled Zhao Nian's arm and pushed her into the corridor, then closed the dormitory door behind her, separating the two. Only after hearing the soft sound of the door closing did Jiang Hua turn around to look at Zhao Nian.
"Why did you suddenly come to our door again? Was it because Xu Lili... went a little too far just now?" Jiang Hua was still unwilling to let the situation worsen, so she carefully chose her words to avoid upsetting the other party.
Zhao Nian's attitude was completely different from what she had shown in the hallway. She bowed deeply before raising her head, "Just now... the argument with Xu Lili was my fault..."
This dramatic change was so sudden that Jiang Hua couldn't help but feel confused. Zhao Nian, seeing her bewildered expression, became anxious. "You remember Zhao Di, right, Jiang Hua?" Jiang Hua thought for a moment and remembered the name, nodding slightly. "Zhao Di is actually my cousin... I started targeting you at her request. Although I don't quite understand why she asked me to do this... but this time, I really don't want to continue like this. I'm willing to apologize to you, and I'd rather be your friend than your enemy."
Things finally became clear. Jiang Hua breathed a sigh of relief, her face regaining its bright smile. She took Zhao Nian's hand and turned to push open the door. Zhao Nian hesitated, standing at the dormitory door, not daring to go in and meet Xu Lili. Jiang Hua seemed to see right through Zhao Nian's thoughts. "Don't be nervous. The people in this dormitory are very friendly. I'll explain things to them for you. No one will refuse you."
The door was pushed open again, and Xu Lili, who was inside, saw Zhao Nian standing behind Jiang Hua. At first, she was puzzled, but after hearing Jiang Hua's explanation, she immediately understood. The previous argument seemed to disappear instantly, and Xu Lili quickly pulled Zhao Nian over to chat with her.
Seeing the perfect scene before her, Jiang Hua had a sudden inspiration. "If we keep chatting, it'll be lunchtime soon. Would you all like to go to the cafeteria to continue our conversation?" Everyone laughed at Jiang Hua's words. Zhao Nian still felt a little guilty about the previous argument, so she offered to treat everyone in the dormitory to hot pot. Upon hearing that there was hot pot, everyone quickly got dressed and, chatting and laughing, walked out of the dormitory hand in hand.
