Chapter Sixteen: Rally

"Yi Gu, I'm sorry, are you alright?" Jiang Hua quickly counterattacked, delivering the final blow.

"It's alright." Gu's gentle voice reached Jiang Hua's ears again.

"I'm sorry, I was distracted just now." Jiang Hua was full of remorse.

"I'm sorry everyone, I was distracted during an important training session." Jiang Hua apologized sincerely to everyone in the chat room.

"It's alright, Master, you didn't do it on purpose. Just don't do it again next time," Emperor's Dwarf Li said enthusiastically in the chat room.

"You talk too much," the short emperor said to his girlfriend. "But you don't need to worry about it too much, leader."

"Yeah, you were the one who turned the tables in the end, we didn't even realize it." Even though it was a consolation, Mo Du's words still carried that mature tone.

"You're all so nice to me because I'm cute and pretty, right?" Jiang Hua felt a warm glow in her heart. The gang family had given her a lot of warmth, and she jokingly said this on purpose.

"Well, you never know, unless you post a picture and let us see if you're really that cute and pretty," the short emperor joked.

"What are you doing? The leader is definitely cute and pretty. You already have someone as cute and pretty as me, isn't that enough?" The emperor's short voice was cute, but he was also puffed up with anger.

"Oh, honey, I was just joking, don't take it seriously. Who can be as cute and pretty as you?" the short emperor quickly coaxed.

"Hey, stop showing off your love here. We're all single dogs here," Mo Du said irritably.

"Don't drag me into this, I'm not single, I'm taken," Chu Meng said smugly.

"Holy crap, no way, you have a boyfriend?" Mo Du exclaimed in surprise.

"Hmph, what do you mean? Can't I have a boyfriend?" Chu Meng said irritably.

"No, no, I thought you were all single," Mo Du explained repeatedly.

"What about the gang leader and Yi Gu? Do they have boyfriends or girlfriends?"

"No, I don't have one," Jiang Hua said, feigning anger. "If I had a boyfriend, I wouldn't come here anymore; I'd go see him every day."

"Hey, Boss, that won't do! How can you forget about us just because you have a boyfriend? No, no, you have to find someone who also plays this game," the Emperor's dwarf hurriedly said, his voice punctuated by the sound of him munching on potato chips.

"And what about Yi Gu? Do you have a girlfriend?" the emperor's short man asked again.

"I didn't." Gu said succinctly.

"Finally found a single man like me," Mo Du chuckled.

"Look, Gu doesn't have a girlfriend, and the leader doesn't have a boyfriend. Why don't we pair you two up? That way you can play games together, have both gaming and romance, isn't that great!" The Emperor's dwarf laughed and took a few more big bites of potato chips.

"What are you saying? People will misunderstand." Jiang Hua's face turned slightly red, afraid that they would be offended, and even more afraid that they would say something even more outrageous.

"Exactly, exactly, what are you saying? I think the guild leader should come with me, I think I'm pretty good." Silent Reader chuckled a few times and said.

"Don't take this seriously, everyone. It's just my girlfriend who likes to cause trouble," the short emperor scolded her.

“I think it’s great,” Gu said abruptly.

"Yi Gu, are you talking about the gang leader and me?" Mo Du let out a mischievous laugh.

"I mean, it would be best if she could find a boy to play games with while she's drawing," Gu said, emphasizing each word.

"Look, even the great master Gu agrees with me. You can have both games and love. What if the guild leader leaves us for his boyfriend?" The little emperor found it more and more reasonable and opened another bottle of cola.

"Didn't I tell you to drink less carbonated drinks? Why are you drinking them again?" the short emperor scolded.

Jiang Hua watched them bickering and laughed even more heartily.

But is what Yi Gu said true?

After finishing her practice, Jiang Hua took a quick shower.

Jiang Hua had just dried her hair when she saw a message from Fengliu Shudai while playing the game.

[Chat] [Romantic Bookworm]: Little Painter, are you really with Yi Gu?

Jiang Hua hesitated for a moment, but still typed out a line of text.

[Chat] [Di Ruhua]: Yes, I hope you are happy too.

[Chat] [Romantic Bookworm]: Are you really not going to reconsider me?

[Chat] [Romantic Bookworm]: I can give you anything.

Jiang Hua bit her lip and hardened her heart.

[Chat] [Di Ruhua]: Sorry, there's no possibility between us.

[Chat] [Romantic Bookworm]: Okay, you'll regret it.

Jiang Hua rubbed her temples. This guy really wouldn't give up.

Jiang Hua took a big gulp of water and just then saw that Gu had sent her another voice chat request.

Jiang Hua thought about it for a moment, then accepted.

"Hey, Yi Gu, it's so late, why aren't you asleep yet?" Jiang Hua opened a bag of plums and started eating.

Of the four flavors—sweet, sour, bitter, and spicy—Jiang Hua prefers sour and spicy, and can't live without them almost every day.

"Well, the school recently published a paper. I wasn't supposed to help with it, but my teacher asked me to look at it and learn from it," Gu replied simply.

"Wow, you must be really outstanding, your teacher thinks so highly of you." Jiang Hua popped two more plums into her mouth.

"It's nothing really, the teacher just couldn't find anyone to help," Gu said with a smile.

"That's really impressive. By the way, thank you for what happened today. I used your name to get rid of that person, and you also blocked that final blow for me while we were playing the game. Thank you so much." Jiang Hua thanked her somewhat shyly.

"It's alright, it's just a small matter. Has that person come looking for you again?"

"Actually, he came to see me a little earlier, but I sent him away. Well, it's okay," Jiang Hua replied nonchalantly.

"That's good." Gu smiled again.

"Why are you always grinning like an idiot? It's so silly." Jiang Hua smiled too.

"Oh, right, I just wanted to tell you something. Um, I've already talked to the team, and I might not have time to practice tomorrow. Could you take them to practice for me? I have a meeting to attend tomorrow, so I probably won't be able to come." Jiang Hua said a lot in one breath.

"Is it a meeting at your school?"

“Yes, it’s a big event. There’s nothing we freshmen can do about it,” Jiang Hua said good-naturedly.

"So you won't be lazy and sleep in, will you?" Gu's voice was tinged with amusement.

"I don't know either. I might actually be lazy and sleep in. Back in high school, I often fell asleep during pep rallies or motivational meetings," Jiang Hua said somewhat embarrassedly.
