Chapter Ninety-Nine: Positive Learning

Because Ji Kexin studied very hard, Jiang Hua felt embarrassed to refuse to teach her. Jiang Hua could only use the time after completing game tasks to teach Ji Kexin the problems she didn't understand. However, Jiang Hua didn't know if this would improve Ji Kexin's grades, but even if it did, it would still be a form of help.

Finally, the mid-term exams arrived, and Ji Kexin, Gu Yiming, and Jiang Hua were all on high alert. They had been waiting for this day.

Ji Kexin got up early, washed up, and sat down at her desk to read. Because Jiang Hua had stayed up late playing games and completing tasks the day before, Ji Kexin wanted Jiang Hua to get some rest and decided to wake her up later.

It was already 6:00 when Ji Kexin woke Jiang Hua up.

Jiang Hua complained to herself that she had overslept and didn't even have time to review.

Ji Kexin comforted her, "It's okay, Jiang Hua. Getting enough rest is the most important thing. You finished your task very late last night, and I wanted you to get some more sleep so you could be more alert during the exam. That's why I didn't wake you. I'm sorry, Jiang Hua."

"It's okay, Kexin, it's just an exam, it doesn't matter," Jiang Hua quickly said.

"Okay, my dear Jiang Hua, my good sister, we must both do well on this exam and give full play to our talents. No one can be distracted."

The two looked at each other and laughed happily. "Alright, alright, stop laughing. Let's wash up and go to the cafeteria for breakfast. I heard the breakfast is pretty good today," the roommate reminded her.

Jiang Hua and Ji Kexin arrived at the restaurant together, ordered their favorite breakfasts, and happily sat down to eat.

Gu Yiming arrived and walked to Jiang Hua and Ji Kexin's dining table. He angrily said to them, "Hmph, why didn't you wait for me before coming to the dining room to eat? You made me oversleep. Now look what happened, all the breakfast was gone, so I can only eat yours. This is a punishment for you two." After saying that, he picked up Jiang Hua's chopsticks and started eating, occasionally saying how delicious it was.

When Ji Kexin and Jiang Hua saw this, they stopped eating and said to Gu Yiming, "Alright, alright, we're full. Here, have some. We saved it all for you."

Gu Yiming widened his eyes, indicating his distrust.

Ji Kexin nodded, admitting it was true.

"Then I won't stand on ceremony. You guys go first, I'll eat for a bit longer." Gu Yiming's mouth was stuffed full of food.

Ji Kexin and Jiang Hua left the cafeteria and decided to go to the examination hall.

"Ring ring ring." With a crisp ring, the exam began.

Time felt so long, and so unbearable...

Finally, the bell rang crisply again, pulling many sleeping students back from their dreams. After handing in their papers, they stretched and walked out of the examination hall, still complaining of being tired.

Several days later, the midterm exam results came out. Gu Yiming was first in the class, Jiang Hua was third, and Ji Kexin was seventh. Jiang Hua told Gu Yiming her results first, and Gu Yiming was happy for her.

My roommates all said that Jiang Hua's last-minute cramming was very useful and amazing; everyone was praising Jiang Hua.

However, this caused dissatisfaction among the fourth-place student. The fourth-place student thought to themselves: "I worked very hard too, so why didn't I get a better score than Jiang Hua? Why? Why is everyone praising Jiang Hua?"

The fourth-ranked student mocked Jiang Hua, saying, "Jiang Hua, I'm telling you this in front of the whole class today. Don't think you can dominate just because you got third place and are good at games. Let me tell you, Jiang Hua, it's impossible. If you're so capable, go get first place! What's the point of showing off third place? It's ridiculous. Don't even dream of getting all the praise in the class." Several of the fourth-ranked student's close friends chimed in, because they had long disliked Jiang Hua. Why were all the boys so nice to Jiang Hua and always giving him a second glance?

Many people also defended Jiang Hua, feeling that what the fourth-place student said was excessive. They argued that Jiang Hua wasn't that kind of person; the boys had only approached her, and both her gaming and academic achievements were the result of her own hard work, not something they had fabricated through gossip. Her roommate was about to speak when Jiang Hua stopped him, not wanting him to offend them for her sake.

Jiang Hua stormed off. Back in her dorm, she turned on her computer, entered the game, and started playing dungeons. Because she was so angry, she cleared the dungeons with ease.

When Ji Kexin heard what the fourth-place player said about Jiang Hua, she went to find Jiang Hua. However, her roommate told Ji Kexin that Jiang Hua was taking her anger out on the game, and that she had passed several levels without dying. We tried to comfort her, but she wouldn't listen.

Gu Yiming also came to find Jiang Hua. He went into the dormitory and came to Jiang Hua's side, saying, "Who is this blind fool who has offended our gaming god Jiang Hua this time?"

After hearing this, Jiang Hua burst out laughing. Jiang Hua called Gu Yiming a complete idiot.

"Oh, right, Jiang Hua, here's the money for your phone credit." After saying that, Gu Yiming took out the money Jiang Hua had given him to top up his phone credit from his bag.

"No, no, you can keep it. Besides, it was my question that caused your phone bill to run out so quickly. I can't accept this money. If you try to force it on me, I'll really get angry and never talk to you again."

"Okay, okay," Gu Yiming said happily.

After learning that Ji Kexin was feeling discouraged because she ranked seventh, Jiang Hua went to find Ji Kexin. When Ji Kexin saw Jiang Hua, she said that she already knew what the fourth-place student had said about Jiang Hua, and asked Jiang Hua if she was alright.

Jiang Hua shook her head to indicate that she was fine.

Ji Kexin said, "Let's walk our own path and let others talk. We achieved our success through our own hard work, and people are discerning; someone will definitely recognize our efforts."

Jiang Hua nodded, indicating that she agreed with Ji Kexin's statement.

Jiang Hua encouraged Ji Kexin, saying, "Although you only ranked seventh this time, you should think about how long you've been working hard. Ranking seventh is already quite good. I believe that as long as you maintain this level of effort, your grades will definitely surpass mine. Don't be discouraged, and don't give up after this failure. That won't do, understand, Kexin?"

Ji Kexin said, "I understand."

Jiang Hua and Ji Kexin wrote many inspirational labels and posted them on the wall to encourage Ji Kexin not to be discouraged and to strive for improvement in her studies.

Seeing Ji Kexin working so hard, Jiang Hua cheered her on.
