"I'm going to the company. Remember to have breakfast in the cafeteria after you get up later." Gu Yiming said to Jiang Hua while putting on his suit. "Don't forget, I'm leaving now." Gu Yiming kept looking in Jiang Hua's direction with reluctance, but he was going to be late for work, so he didn't stay any longer.
Jiang Hua leisurely got up, washed up, and dressed before walking into the lobby. "Hey! Waiter, where can I get breakfast?" Jiang Hua asked casually. The waiter, seeing that she wasn't in a hurry to get to work and was staying in such a high-end hotel, felt a little disdain for Jiang Hua.
The service was a bit poor. "Oh! Breakfast? Turn left over there." Jiang Hua looked ahead and, seeing no one, asked, "Why is there so few people at that breakfast place?"
"What time is it now? If there are any more people, it will be terrible. Do you think they are all like you, not on duty?" The waiter scolded Jiang Hua like a shrew. Jiang Hua didn't know what she had done wrong to make the waiter dislike her so much.
"Is there some misunderstanding between us that makes you so disgusted with me?" Jiang Hua made it very clear what was going on between them. She didn't like the feeling of having to beat around the bush and say things that were not what they really meant.
"No, what misunderstanding could there be between us? It's only our first meeting." The waiter explained reluctantly, picking at his fingers. "Then why are you so hostile towards me?" Jiang Hua slapped the waiter's hand away, making him look up and answer her question directly.
"Didn't I say there's no misunderstanding between us?" the waiter explained impatiently for the second time. "No misunderstanding between us? Is this how a waiter treats a customer?" Jiang Hua wasn't the type to nitpick, but she felt that the waiter's gaze was different, and it wasn't just dislike.
"I've already told you there's no misunderstanding! I simply dislike you!" Jiang Hua looked at the waiter, thinking that this waiter was incapable of any great things. He got so angry over the smallest things; he couldn't learn any patience.
"Fine, if you hate me, then please take me to the place where I had breakfast." Although Jiang Hua didn't want to make things difficult for the waitress, she saw that their manager was on his way, and since the waitress had been mistreated, she took her away.
Sure enough, the manager came over and asked, "Where's that waitress who just came? The really young one!" the manager asked loudly. "She was taken to the restaurant by a very pretty girl," two receptionists answered the manager's question.
"What does this little girl look like?" the manager asked nervously, afraid that the little girl was the one he was looking for.
"She's very fair-skinned, has long hair, is exceptionally beautiful, and has a great presence." The receptionist used these few words to confirm that the person was Jiang Hua. Because the receptionist had a good eye and saw many people every day, very few people could earn her praise. Among the group of people staying at the hotel, Jiang Hua was the only one who could be praised by both of them at the same time.
"Did that girl come down from the top floor?" The manager still couldn't believe that the person was Jiang Hua, and confirmed it again and again. "Yes, she came down from the top floor. That's why the waitress got angry."
"No, what does it have to do with her that someone came down from the top floor? Why is she angry? She's so young, yet she has such a temper." The receptionist was furious; she had offended Gu Yiming's people. "What's wrong, Manager? Does this woman have a powerful background?" The receptionist, seeing through the manager's micro-expression, didn't mince words and asked directly.
"Yes, that's President Gu's woman. She has a powerful background." The manager said helplessly. He was unhappy about having to clean up the mess again and planned to scold the waitress when she returned, telling her not to talk nonsense again.
After Jiang Hua finished breakfast, the waitress returned to her original work position. She then went home, slumped onto the sofa, and said, "Oh! Right, I still have to go to work. I ate and slept, slept and ate. I completely forgot I had to go to work."
Jiang Hua stood up, stretched, and prepared to walk towards the door. "Wait a minute? Wasn't I fired? What class am I supposed to be in? No way! I'm going back." Jiang Hua put down the bag she had just picked up. This poor bag, picked up and thrown down by its owner so many times, had to endure it all without complaint.
Ten minutes later...
"No, I have to go to work. What else can I do if I don't go to work? I can't do anything at home. It's more fulfilling to go to work." With that, Jiang Hua dialed Gu Yiming's phone number.
"Beep-beep-beep-beep"
"Hello?"
"Hey! Gu Yiming, I lost my job, and I don't have anything to do at home."
"so?"
"So I'd like to help out at your company."
"We have already finished recruiting new staff."
"I'm not hiring a new person; I'm looking for a president's assistant."
"I don't need an assistant."
Gu Yiming was very firm in his attitude. He could joke around with Jiang Hua about other things, but he wouldn't joke around with her at work. Work was not a game. Gu Yiming was very strict with himself, and he was also very strict with his work.
“My company isn’t a place anyone can just walk into. No matter who you are, it doesn’t matter. Everyone here is a blank slate. Everyone starts from zero.” Gu Yiming rarely spoke at length.
"Beep-beep-beep-beep"
Gu Yiming was hung up on, but he wasn't very angry. Subconsciously, he felt that he had offended Jiang Hua.
The assistant witnessed for the first time how helpless her boss was with a woman, not even showing any anger after being hung up on. He quietly put his phone away and continued working. A rare sight from the boss, and a woman who made the assistant look at him with new respect.
Jiang Hua was severely hurt. Gu Yiming's words implied that she wasn't qualified to join his company. To put it more simply, Jiang Hua wasn't capable enough.
How could Jiang Hua possibly accept that? She would make sure Gu Yiming saw her get into a better company and made him admit that she was capable enough. Although her approach was naive, it certainly saved her face.
"I must find a job and show Gu Yiming that I'm capable, not as weak as he thinks." Jiang Hua gave herself a strong pep talk.
Jiang Hua submitted her resume to various companies and awaited the results.
Jiang Hua submitted many resumes and received many interview opportunities, but she didn't get any results.
