Chapter 15 Review
The commotion here has already attracted the attention of many people.
Although it was downstairs in the performing arts dormitory, where all the passersby were handsome men and beautiful women, the sight of this strikingly good-looking couple was so eye-catching that many people pretended to be chatting, but their eyes were all fixed on them.
Ling Wei had no choice but to pull Lu Zhao to the grove next to the dormitory building, a popular spot for couples to meet.
"You want me to forgive you?" She stopped in her tracks.
He nodded hurriedly, his eyes filled with urgency.
"Willing to do anything?" Ling Wei glanced at him, raising an eyebrow slightly.
Lu Zhao subconsciously pulled his coat collar tighter, his ears turning slightly red: "...What...what do you want to do?"
system:"……"
It's so wild, so incredibly wild.
He just blurted it out without batting an eye, and the thing is, this kid actually believed it!
Those once defiant eyes were now filled with helplessness and self-reproach, even making his arrogant blond hair seem a little dimmer.
Ling Wei had this point perfectly in mind regarding Lu Zhao.
This young master has pride and self-respect in his bones, but he was also raised in an environment full of love, so he can't learn to be truly selfish.
He generously shares his abundant emotions with those he cares about, including his older brother whom he has just reunited with and with whom he is still somewhat unfamiliar.
As for why he didn't go to Lu Yan to verify?
Lu Zhao's awkward teenage mind was both afraid of hearing his brother admit to the embarrassment of being dumped and even more afraid of confirming that he was the culprit.
He preferred to bear this guilt silently, clumsily trying to make amends, rather than touching the wounds that might still exist.
Ultimately, he was carefully maintaining this newly established brotherhood in what he believed to be the right way.
Ling Wei (spreading her hands): "I didn't want to either, but he just had to run into me."
The system remained silent, only offering virtual candles to Lu Zhao.
Ling Wei took a step forward, and Lu Zhao subconsciously took a step back until his back hit the rough tree trunk, leaving him nowhere to retreat.
She raised her hand, as if to touch his face, but Lu Zhao abruptly turned his head away, just like a startled young animal.
“Then…” Ling Wei withdrew her hand, smiling like a cunning fox, “be my 'servant' for six months.”
"What?" Lu Zhao didn't understand.
"It means that for the next six months, you'll be at my beck and call. You'll be at my beck and call," Ling Wei said casually.
"Impossible!" Lu Zhao immediately refused, with his pride.
"Never mind then." Ling Wei turned to leave, her tone light. "Anyway, your brother will meet other people in the future. Just remember to control your temper next time and don't drive them away again."
"Wait!" Lu Zhao called out to her, and after struggling for a moment, he almost gritted his teeth and agreed, "...Okay! But I can't come when I have training or company commitments! Also, I won't do anything excessive!"
“Sure,” Ling Wei readily agreed, “After all, I’m not some kind of devil.”
Lu Zhao looked at her and asked hesitantly, "Then six months later... you and my brother..."
“I’m going to go after your brother,” Ling Wei interrupted him, shrugging. “As for whether he wants him or not, I can’t guarantee it.”
Lu Zhao breathed a sigh of relief and said in a low voice, "...As long as it's not because of me that we broke up."
The deal is done.
Ling Wei leaned lazily against the tree, observing his tense expression: "Why the long face? Aren't you quite adept at being a loyal fan of your sister Yuqing? Now it's just me who's one more."
"That's different!" Lu Zhao retorted immediately, as if his tail had been stepped on. "Sister Yuqing genuinely appreciates me! She's my friend, she's..."
"Oh? You appreciate me?"
“That’s right!” Lu Zhao straightened his back, trying to make his argument more convincing. “When I was still a nobody with no one believing in me, it was Sister Yuqing who found me. She said I had a lot of potential and that if I kept at it, I would definitely become famous!”
"Then what?"
"What then?" Lu Zhao was taken aback by the question and subconsciously asked back.
The girl in front of him seemed to have heard an unbelievable joke; her bright, almond-shaped eyes widened slightly, as if to say, "Are you kidding me?"
"No way? She just... came over to cheer you on, said you'd become famous and you..."
Her words trailed off, as if she couldn't be bothered to delve any further.
Then, mimicking his tone, she threw out a line: "Lu Zhao, you'll become famous."
His gaze drifted to the distant treetops, as if he were casually discussing "the weather isn't great today."
This extremely deliberate imitation stands in stark contrast to Su Yuqing's gentle and sincere demeanor from the beginning.
Lu Zhao turned his face away in anger, not wanting to talk to her.
Ling Wei didn't seem to mind, and casually sat down on the grass under the shade of a tree, patting the spot next to her: "Sit."
"What are you up to now?" Lu Zhao asked warily.
"Have you forgotten your new identity so quickly?" Ling Wei raised an eyebrow, looking up at him. Her eyes shone brightly in the sunlight. "Young man, you don't want your brother to continue to be heartbroken because of you, do you?"
Lu Zhao: "..."
He held his breath and reluctantly sat down next to her, deliberately keeping a little distance.
Ling Wei took out her phone, opened the first episode of the trainee program he participated in, and watched it with great interest.
Whenever Lu Zhao appeared on camera, she would pause the shot and offer her commentary.
"This movement was a beat too slow, it didn't match the rhythm."
"Manage your facial expressions, pay attention to your facial expressions, your smile is too stiff."
At first, they were all nitpicking, and Lu Zhao frowned as he listened, his neck stiff with reluctance to hear.
But gradually, the trend of commentary changed.
The scene shows a group dance segment of the theme song.
"Stop." Ling Wei suddenly paused, her fingertip pointing at Lu Zhao's figure on the screen. "When the camera panned over here, your wave lasted one second longer than others."
She turned to look at him, her eyes filled with admiration. "A very clever touch. He hid his own little idea within the uniformity, which made the editor notice it at a glance."
Lu Zhao, who had been looking away in annoyance, softened his tense jawline upon hearing these words.
The video continues, reaching a high-pitched part.
“Hmm…” Ling Wei said thoughtfully, “This one used mixed voice to cover up the sound. Although it’s a bit thin, it didn’t crack. It’s much safer than forcing your true voice in the rehearsal footage. You know how to play to your strengths and avoid your weaknesses. That’s progress.”
Lu Zhao pursed her lips, her eyelashes fluttered slightly, and her gaze involuntarily drifted back.
Switch to a close-up shot of him.
“That look,” Ling Wei zoomed in on the image, almost fixing it on his slightly reddened eyes and tightly pursed lips, “is telling a story. Unlike some people who just stare blankly or have no expression. You put real emotion into this expression, although it’s still a bit immature, but… it’s very touching.”
When the scene played where he nearly slipped but cleverly defused the fall with an impromptu ground move, Ling Wei immediately pressed replay.
“Here,” she said, her tone filled with undisguised admiration, “their on-the-spot reaction was superb. Mistakes turned into highlights, showcasing both their comedic talent and professionalism. This segment is sure to win over fans.”
Lu Zhao felt his cheeks burning and shifted his shoulders uncomfortably.
She's right.
Although he doesn't have many fans now, this rescue scene is repeatedly mentioned in all his personal edits, and many people have indeed become fans of him because of it.
Her comments were precise and to the point.
There is no empty praise; all judgments are based on facts and professional knowledge.
Lu Zhao went from initially resisting and being defiant to gradually moving closer and closer to Ling Wei, until their heads were almost touching.
He could clearly smell the faint fragrance of her hair, wisps of it lingering around his nose, making him somewhat distracted.
