Chapter 16 Meeting the Parents

Chapter 16 Meeting the Parents

Before Ling Wei could respond, his kiss had already precisely covered her lips.

It was no longer a fleeting dabble, but rather a deepening longing fueled by pent-up emotions and an undeniable possessiveness.

The voice was drowned out between the mingling of lips and teeth, so indistinct it was almost a murmur: "...I miss you so much."

Yu Xingye seemed insatiable, gently yet forcefully drawing upon her essence.

Ling Wei's eyelashes trembled wetly, and she finally managed to find a moment to breathe rapidly.

This guy is an absolute kissing maniac!

It has been more than two months since they started their separate romantic relationships. Who would have thought that the big star who acted all high and mighty with an attitude of "you can kiss me however you want, you're getting a great deal" when they first started dating would turn out like this?

They kiss when they meet, they kiss when they part, and even when they're walking down the street and no one's around, they'll suddenly lean in and ask for a kiss...

Sometimes, even when she only lightly touches his lips to comfort him, he instantly takes the initiative, holding the back of her head and deepening the kiss. At the end, he chuckles softly against her lips, teasing her with steady breath, "Such a small lung capacity? You'll have to practice more in the future."

Can she even compete with a professional singer in terms of lung capacity?!

Recently, it has gotten even worse, like a... complete pervert.

He kissed the top of her head, kissed her earlobes, and even kissed the stray hairs that fell around her neck.

Thinking of this, Ling Wei couldn't help but raise her wet eyes, filled with accusation and embarrassment, and glared at him fiercely.

That glance, with its flowing, shimmering eyes, was not intimidating at all, but rather like a kitten's paw gently scratching at Yu Xingye's ambitions.

His Adam's apple bobbed, his eyes darkened instantly, and he bowed his head again without further ado.

Ling Wei was once again caught up in the storm he created, and all her resistance turned into futile sobs.

You Xingye was also feeling unwell, especially when her fingers gently stroked his hair, sending a tingling sensation from the roots to the back of his hair. He could feel the change very clearly and had to stop.

His burning cheeks pressed against her slightly cool skin, his arms still tightly wrapped around her slender waist, as if he were trying his best to calm something down.

The only sound in the carriage was the intertwined, slightly rapid breathing of the two people; the air was so thick it seemed to drip honey.

System (tactical facepalm): Is this something I can see?

Ling Wei closed her eyes and breathed softly: [Knowing you shouldn't look, why did you still look?]

System: AU, there's a review process by the authorities, so it won't show anything below the neck. I'm relieved.

Although Ling Wei has no memories of her previous life, she is clearly not a celibate person in this life. She knows herself well; she will take what is in her mouth sooner or later.

So he chuckled softly to himself, a knowing look on his face: "You're too quick to worry."

System: Σ(⊙▽⊙''"a!!!

The agent, Brother Liu, in the passenger seat had already tactfully raised the partition when the young couple "reunited after a long separation."

Oh no, I hope the paparazzi don't take any pictures of me.

He could already imagine the malicious headlines those people would use: "Top Singer Commits Sexual Assault in the Street—Is it a Distortion of Humanity or a Decline in Morality?"

Please don't let things go wrong, buddy. I have my pride.

After a while, perhaps hearing his prayer, the barrier lowered, and Yu Xingye's hoarse voice rang out:

"...Let's go eat."

The intimate and tender atmosphere in the carriage had not yet dissipated when Ling Wei's phone suddenly vibrated, shattering the idyllic moment.

The words "brother" were displayed on the screen.

Ling Wei's heart skipped a beat, like a child caught doing something wrong.

She subconsciously broke free from You Xingye's embrace, moved to the side, and tried to create some distance, only revealing the upper half of her face. Her fingertips quickly tidied her slightly messy sideburns and collar. She took a deep breath before answering the video call.

Ling Yang's face immediately appeared on the screen.

"Weiwei, where are you?" Ling Yang's voice came through the receiver, carrying his usual concern.

Ling Wei pursed her lips, trying to make her expression appear natural. Her fingers flew across the keyboard as she quickly typed in sign language: "In the car, having dinner with friends."

Her movements carried a subtle, almost imperceptible urgency.

Ling Yang's sharp gaze swept over his younger sister's slightly evasive eyes and still flushed cheeks on the screen, and his brows furrowed almost imperceptibly: "Friend? Which friend?"

This follow-up question made Ling Wei's heart jump even higher. Her fingers hovered in the air, and she didn't know how to "introduce" the very noticeable "friend" next to her.

Just then, a long, slender arm reached out possessively and naturally wrapped around Ling Wei's shoulder.

Yu Xingye's handsome face, enough to make countless fans scream, instantly squeezed into the camera and occupied most of the screen.

A sly smile played on his lips as he spoke to Ling Yang, who was clearly stunned on the other end of the screen, his voice clear yet slightly ingratiating:

"Hello, brother! It's me!"

The camera clearly captured Yu Xingye's appearance at this moment—his carefully styled hair was slightly messy, and there was still lingering affection in his eyes and brows.

What's even more deadly is that his extremely beautiful lips clearly revealed the intensity that had just occurred.

Seeing this, coupled with Ling Wei's equally swollen lips beside him, Ling Yang's pupils dilated in shock.

A mixture of shock and a feeling of having one's own cabbage stolen instantly surged to the top of one's head, and the voice suddenly rose, filled with disbelief:

"Ling Wei—!!!"

Ling Wei's cheeks flushed bright red instantly, and even her ears felt hot.

She frantically gestured towards the camera: [Hang up now! We'll talk later!] Before Ling Yang could react, she quickly pressed the hang-up button.

The carriage fell into a deathly silence, broken only by Ling Wei's rapid breathing.

She kept her head down like an ostrich, not daring to look at the people next to her.

However, a burning gaze, filled with deep grievance and dissatisfaction, was fixed firmly on her.

Yu Xingye's voice broke the silence, carrying a hint of accusation: "Hmm? 'Friend'?"

He reached out, his long, slender fingers gently pinching Ling Wei's chin, forcing her to look up at him.

“I’ve already told my family, and my brother even specifically mentioned wanting to take you out for a meal to meet people. How come I’ve become a ‘friend’ in your brother’s eyes?”

He leaned closer, his fingertip lightly touching her luscious lips with a meaningful gesture: "Are we the kind of 'friends' you can 'kiss' 'anytime,' baby?"

Ling Wei felt a chill run down her spine from his gaze.

Knowing she was in the wrong, she quickly reached out and wrapped her arms around his waist in a flattering manner, burying her face in his chest and rubbing against him, trying to get away with it by acting cute.

But this time, Yu Xingye remained unmoved and was determined to have a formal title.

What else could Ling Wei do but agree to meet her brother and promise to take him home to meet her parents?

In front of a grand, imposing courtyard.

He took Ling Wei's hand as they got out of the car; his palm was warm, carrying a reassuring meaning.

“Don’t be nervous,” he turned to look at her. “My brother is very easygoing, he just looks a bit serious. It’s just him this time, along with a friend…”

He seemed to choose his words carefully, ultimately selectively concealing that hazy past affection. "We grew up together, you know, like the girl next door. She's also working in the entertainment industry now. I don't know if you've seen her drama; it's airing right now."

At this point, You Xingye, with a hint of barely perceptible guilt, used her older brother as a shield, saying, "She really likes my brother, and the elders in the family are also keen to set them up. She might become my sister-in-law someday. She asked me to write a song for her before; the one we used to film the music video for was the theme song for her drama..."

Ling Wei listened quietly, her expression unchanged; of course she knew.

She simply nodded slightly to indicate that she understood, but her fingertips unconsciously curled up slightly, not because of nervousness, but because a dormant hatred was surging in subtle ways.
