Chapter 1 Wedding Night
(A spot is granted) (The following is the main text)
"What do you mean, 'The evil women of this world cannot be told'?"
Ling Wei and the system floated in the night sky, with the brightly lit royal mansion below them. At this moment, bright red silk and lanterns were hung under the eaves and in the corridors of the mansion. Servants came and went, and the sounds of music and banquets were faintly mixed in, creating a festive atmosphere.
"It means exactly what it says," the system said, sounding a little guilty. "Because in this world, your identity... once the identity of the evil woman is revealed in advance, your perception and actions are very likely to cause... the collapse of key nodes, or even trigger unpredictable major chain reactions."
This is getting interesting.
In the past, the system would not only provide detailed information about the wicked woman, but also inform her of her further movements. There was only one situation in which the system would remain silent:
"Change of imperial power".
The system jolted awake upon hearing the keyword.
Ling Wei, her spirit seemingly lost in thought, continued to follow her train of thought: "In this world, I am a princess. If I were to spoil the plot in advance regarding the struggle for the throne, it would be tantamount to helping me cheat. You wouldn't find that reasonable."
"However, if the opponent is a princess, I cannot eliminate her directly, and both sides are already on high alert, so whether I inform her or not makes little difference..."
The system is starting to sweat.
"Unless that wicked woman has an identity I could never have imagined, or isn't even royalty. In that case, I could simply use her status to deal with her..."
"Hey hey hey!!" The system was sweating profusely. "Weiwei, for the sake of our old partnership, stop analyzing! If you keep analyzing, Heaven will think I'm giving you a cheat sheet!"
Ling Wei, the spirit: "Oh."
What's the panic? After the fusion, she'll only have the memories of this world anyway, and maybe the version of herself in this world is just simple-minded.
"Alright, it's time for you to go and merge with yourself. It's a rare wedding night, so get going!!" The system didn't dare to linger and urged him on.
Just before Ling Wei merged with the system, she heard it whimpering, "Weiwei, this world is too special. I can't chat with you. Don't feel lonely without my rants..."
......
The wedding candles were burning brightly, and the wine drunk during the banquet was making her feel drowsy. Ling Wei, dressed in a bright red wedding dress befitting a prince, staggered into the room and collapsed into the brocade quilt.
Whispering voices drifted in from outside.
"Young Master Shao, it is late. Would you like a servant to attend to you so you can rest in peace?"
After a moment of silence, a clear male voice, tinged with reluctance, rang out: "No need, all of you, leave. We don't need anyone to serve us here."
"Yes." The footsteps faded into the distance.
Immediately afterwards, a rhythmic rumble of wheels came from afar, rolling toward the bed.
Ling Wei closed her eyes, her consciousness was hazy and she was too lazy to move.
The sound of wheels stopped beside the bed.
She could feel a gaze on her, and then a hand reached in from outside the bed curtains. The hand hesitated for a moment before touching the collar of her wedding dress, seemingly unsure of how to unbutton it.
He paused, then turned to her neck, his fingertips brushing against her skin unintentionally, carrying a pleasant fragrance—a texture that had been carefully nurtured and was precious in every inch.
Ling Wei remained motionless, her breathing even becoming heavier.
The next instant, the hand that had been lingering at her collar suddenly tightened and gripped her throat.
The hazy effects of the alcohol were instantly dispelled, and Ling Wei's eyes snapped open, revealing a clear and sharp gaze.
She reacted incredibly quickly; before being completely subdued, her right hand precisely gripped the wrist, using the leverage to pull it away while simultaneously using her waist to twist—
"ah!"
A short, soft gasp.
The world spun around her, and she had already pinned the attacker's hands behind his back to her waist.
"An assassin?" Her voice was slightly hoarse from just waking up.
The person beneath him was also dressed in wedding attire, the style of which was the formal attire expected of a secondary minister, without any deviation. However, upon closer inspection, one could discern the difference: the fabric shone with a restrained luster under the candlelight, clearly an extremely expensive yet understated material.
His dark hair was neatly tied up with an ornate lotus crown, its exquisite craftsmanship fitting perfectly on his head.
Every part of her body was perfectly fitting and exquisite, like a proud and magnificent peacock.
Ling Wei's gaze slowly shifted to that face.
With just one glance, she raised an eyebrow slightly.
It was an extremely beautiful face, with skin so white it was dazzling, a high nose bridge, and beautifully shaped lips with a natural rosy hue.
The most striking feature was his eyes—classic phoenix eyes with naturally upturned corners. The candlelight danced in his eyes, reflecting a wet, watery hue. His long, thick eyelashes trembled in panic.
"Let go!" He struggled for a moment, his voice less feigned indifference and more genuinely angry, the last syllable even trembling slightly, "You're hurting me!"
Ling Wei didn't let go; instead, she leaned down a little, almost able to count his trembling eyelashes: "Just now, it seemed like you were the one who started it? Trying to strangle me?"
A hint of guilt flashed across Yi Shao's handsome face, but he immediately retorted, "I... I was just testing it out. Everyone says you became a cripple after your serious injury, so I wanted to see if it was true."
"Who told you to marry me?" he said, his eyes beginning to redden.
“My family… they squeezed out the last bit of value from me, then dumped this useless son of mine on you, while they went to befriend other princesses. What a clever scheme.”
He became more and more aggrieved as he spoke, his phoenix eyes filled with tears that were about to fall, and the tip of his nose was slightly red. At this moment, he looked exactly like a beautiful but pitiful little girl who had been sacrificed by her family and was filled with grief and helplessness.
Ling Wei looked at him quietly, her face expressionless.
Seeing that she remained unmoved, Yi Shao bit his lower lip, as if he had made up his mind, and said hatefully with a sob in his voice, "Anyway... anyway, I'm not going to live anymore. I heard that assassinating a princess will result in the extermination of nine generations of one's family... perfect, I'll take all those who bullied me away!"
He spoke with such poignant emotion that tears finally streamed down his face. Despite being held back like that, his face was streaked with tears, creating a kind of tragic and broken beauty.
Ling Wei gently brushed her fingertips against his cheek, wiping away a tear.
Yi Shao's body stiffened, her eyelashes trembled even more violently, and she turned her face away, but couldn't hide the blush rising at the base of her ears, whether from embarrassment or anger.
Ling Wei suddenly chuckled softly, with a hint of amusement in her voice.
“If you really want to kill me,” Ling Wei leaned closer to him, her breath brushing against his sensitive earlobe, “just strangling me isn’t enough, my… Shao Langjun.”
A flicker of panic crossed Yi Shao's face, realizing he'd been seen through, but it was quickly masked by a forced composure.
"What...what do you mean..." His voice trailed off.
Ling Wei stopped wasting words with him, used force to turn him completely over so that they were facing each other.
With her other hand, she slowly stroked his neck, her fingertips gently circling his slightly protruding Adam's apple.
Yi Shao's body tensed instantly, a hint of disgust flashing in his eyes, but he quickly lowered his gaze, his thick eyelashes concealing his emotions, leaving only his slightly trembling lips and increasingly red ears.
"Poor thing..." Ling Wei gently stroked his cheek, teasing him slowly, "Your good sisters, which of my royal sisters did you manage to climb up to?"
Yi Shao was pinned down by her, his neck arched back in a graceful curve, like a swan awaiting its slaughter, yet his mouth kept running: "Eldest sister has already gotten on the good side of that person under the Second Princess, and second sister is desperately trying to get close to the Chief Secretary of the Third Princess's residence. As for me..."
He forced a self-deprecating and mocking laugh. "Wasn't it just that my mother casually stuffed me into His Highness's residence? A useless son like me..." He raised his voice at the end, not finishing his sentence, but the glance he gave to the side was full of sarcasm, "We're both in the same boat, but I'm the most worthless."
