Chapter 20: King Akai
Miyakawa Ling led the two of them through many dark alleys and finally approached a street with relatively more people.
"Do you want to attack Nishimaru Hideo first?" asked Yamato Nagano.
Nishimaru Hideo is one of the two important people, but this person does a good job of disguising himself in public. If it weren't for the strong intelligence department of the organization, it would be impossible to investigate that he, who controls half of the Mingye Association, is also the owner of a bookstore and often stays in the store.
This place is not far from Nishimaru Ei's bookstore, so Nagano Yamato asked this question.
Miyakawa Ling turned around and smiled mysteriously. He didn't say yes or no, but said, "Let's split up."
"Didn't you want to kill one person? Have you changed your mind?" asked Yamato Nagano.
"Of course not, but it would be interesting if you had some sense of participation." Miyakawa Ling waved his phone and said, "Please go and check the locations of other targets. Just find out the specific locations, no need to do anything. Contact me once you find them."
At present, only Nishimaru Hideo's whereabouts are the most exposed, and the others only know the scope of their activities.
Yamato Nagano knew that Miyagawa Ryo was trying to get rid of him and Ethan Hondou, but he did not refuse.
"Got it." He turned around and walked towards another alley.
Ethan Hondou nodded to Miyakawa Rei and retreated into the darkness with a cold expression.
After the two of them disappeared, Miyagawa Ling walked into the street.
He wore a mask, his hands were in his pockets, and he walked casually. Under the dim sky, he was inconspicuous walking on the street and was no different from other passers-by.
Miyakawa Ling walked a distance, entered a supermarket, and bought some things there.
Then he wandered around the street, looking here and there, in a very leisurely manner.
Finally, he passed the bookstore.
Miyagawa Ling took a look inside. The glass door of the bookstore was closed. There were very few customers inside, only one or two people walking around the shelves choosing books.
Behind the glass door is a bookshelf with a row of best-selling books placed diagonally on it, and "Night" on the cover is particularly eye-catching.
From Miyakawa Ryo's perspective, there was a man standing in front of the cashier counter, but most of his body was blocked by "Night" and only a vague outline could be seen.
Could it be Nishimaru Hideo?
Just as Miyagawa Ling was thinking this, the system's voice popped up in his mind:
"In order to save the target Nishimaru Ei, you choose--"
"One, fire the cannon at him."
"Second, release the snake to scare him to death."
"Third, to kill him with excessive praise."
Okay, it’s confirmed, this person is Nishimaru Hideo.
but……
"..." Miyakawa Ling withdrew his gaze, passed by the bookstore, and walked forward, with a hint of silence in his eyes.
How come none of these three options are normal?
Miyakawa Ling's mind automatically played the images corresponding to the three options:
In the first scene, Miyagawa Ryo is carrying a exaggerated cannon and blasting Nishimaru Eiren and the entire street into pieces.
——Is this really the kind of combat power a horror movie should have?
In the second picture, Miyagawa Ryo stood in front of Nishimaru Eiji and shook his sleeves. A snake with an ugly and weird appearance jumped out of his sleeves and crawled directly onto Nishimaru Eiji. Then, Nishimaru Eiji's pupils trembled, and he fell to the ground in extreme fear.
Combined with the atmosphere of a horror game, it looks pretty scary.
But...how should I put it, the terrorist was scared to death by a snake, well, Miyagawa Ryo didn't really want to write that in the mission report.
As for the third picture, it is even more outrageous.
In the fictional illusion, Miyagawa Ryo kept praising Nishimaru Eiji. Nishimaru Eiji's expression was natural at first, then he became embarrassed, and then anger appeared in his eyes, veins popped up on his forehead, and he opened his mouth wide to shout angrily... Finally, he died suddenly.
Miyagawa Ryo was shocked by these three scenes, and couldn't help but be glad that the murder didn't happen in front of Gin.
Otherwise, no matter which one you choose, you will not be able to pass.
"System, do these three options have to be used on Nishimaru Hideo? What if I want to target another opponent first?"
System: "Dame, this is an option that belongs exclusively to Nishimaru Eiji."
"Okay..." Miyagawa Ling had just been distracted by the system's words in his mind when a passerby on the side suddenly lost his balance and bumped into him.
Miyagawa Ryo tried to move aside but failed on purpose. After "reflexively trying to dodge", he "reacted to the situation" and supported the man.
The person who bumped into him was a young lady with short blond hair, light blue eyes, pretty features, and obviously a foreigner.
"Sorry." After the woman stood up, she quickly apologized in English.
Miyagawa Ling also replied in English: "It's okay."
His tone was light and he sounded sunny and friendly.
But those smiling eyes were quietly observing the person in front of them.
"I walked faster because I was worried that it might rain again." Perhaps because she saw that Miyagawa's English was not bad, the woman continued to communicate in English. She said apologetically, "I'm so sorry. Thank you for holding me just now."
"It's just a simple effort." Miyakawa Ling blinked with an innocent look.
"Thank you very much. I'm in a hurry, so I'll leave now!"
"goodbye."
Miyakawa Ling stood where he was and watched the woman run away.
“Buzz.”
The cell phone suddenly vibrated twice. Miyagawa Ling looked down and saw two new text messages.
One was from Ethan Bentang, and it contained the target's name and location.
The other one was posted by Yamato Nagano.
He said: [Sorry, I accidentally killed Nakamura Ryuichi]
Miyakawa Ling's eyes turned cold.
…
On the other side, Judy made a phone call while running.
"How is it?" A calm and steady voice came from the other side of the headset.
Judy turned into the alley and swiftly climbed over the wall. "It happened faster than we thought. Just now, I received news that someone from the Mingye Club was killed. The attacker was a man over 1.8 meters tall, wearing a black coat and a mask... but due to the limited field of view, the agent could not see his face and figure clearly."
There was silence for two seconds.
Judy didn't hear the reply. She continued in a low voice while running, "I'm heading there now. But I'm not sure whether the person who did it is from that organization."
"It should be correct." The man said, "It's just that the organization moved too quickly. From this point, we can also see the style of this organization. You have to be more careful."
"I understand." Judy quickened her pace.
After deducing that the organization might take action against Mingye Society, she immediately rushed here. However, she did not expect that as soon as she arrived and assigned some personnel, the people from the organization had already taken action.
Her heart sank; the organization acted too quickly and too ruthlessly.
The Mingye Society had no influence on that huge monster, but it still decisively sent assassins.
Xiu...are you going to go undercover in this kind of organization?
Can I...really gather any information that would be useful to the undercover agent during this mission?
"Don't think too much, you have already collected important information." The male voice on the other end of the phone, as always, gave people a strong sense of security.
Judy couldn't help but chuckle: "Xiu, now that you say that, I feel much more relaxed."
Although she said this, her eyes were sharp.
"Yes." Akai Shuichi said, "Pay attention. Regardless of whether you can get intelligence or not, try not to expose the existence of the FBI."
"Of course I understand that." As they were about to reach their destination, Judy paused and told them what had just happened:
"Xiu, after receiving the message from the agent, I rushed over here. About two minutes after I walked out, I met a person who looked very much like the criminal described by the agent. The height, mask, and clothes were all the same."
Akai Shuichi immediately grasped the point: "The time doesn't match."
"Yes, if he had killed someone, he wouldn't have been able to get here in such a short time."
Judy said, "But out of caution, I still tried it out. The man looked like a college student, his reaction speed was within normal limits, and his eyes were clear. It must have been just a coincidence."
"Is it a coincidence?" Akai Shuichi said: "The truth is often hidden in the details. Tell me the specific details."
Judy trusted him very much, so she didn't feel unhappy about being questioned about her ability. She just recalled carefully: "He brought a convenient bag with an umbrella, a notebook, a telescope, and some small snacks. His coat was a little wet, and the umbrella was not unpacked. These things must have been bought at the convenience store."
"He was walking towards me from the direction of the murder scene... After I bumped into him, there was no tension or fear in his eyes. He looked very relaxed, not like he had just killed someone."
"That's right! His eyes are golden, not very deep golden, but light golden. He wears a mask very tightly..."
"Light gold?" Akai Shuichi suddenly interrupted her.
Judy was stunned for a moment: "Yes, what's wrong?"
Then she realized something and didn't ask any more questions, but continued to tell Akai Shuichi all the details.
Judy knew why Shuichi Akai reacted that way.
Not only her, many people in the FBI knew about it because they had all helped Shuichi Akai keep an eye out for information about that person - Miyagawa Ryo.
This is Shuichi Akai's childhood playmate who has been missing for nearly twelve years.
Although according to the analysis of the investigation results, Miyagawa Ryo was estimated to have died a long time ago, Judy still couldn't bear to shatter her boyfriend's fantasy.
She was also expecting a miracle.
However...it is basically certain that the person I just met was not Miyagawa Ryo.
Because that person's eyes and personality are not what a living Miyagawa Ryo should have.
After listening to this, Akai Shuichi said in a deep voice: "The turtleneck is suspicious."
Judy also responded: "The outdoor temperature here is 23-26 degrees now. Although the wind is strong, the temperature is still high. It can't be that cold."
"Well, wearing a coat is understandable, but wearing a turtleneck underneath that covers the entire neck is a bit problematic."
"I'll keep an eye on that person," Judy looked ahead, "Xiu, I'm here. I'll contact you later."
"Well, be careful."
…
In a room in Tokyo, Shuichi Akai hung up the phone.
He has already arrived in Tokyo, but due to the undercover plan, he did not participate in this mission to test the organization's information in order to avoid leaking his appearance information.
Shuichi Akai's eyes were deep and calm; Judy's words brought back some distant memories.
The man pulled out the pocket watch he always carried with him from his pocket.
The golden cover is shining, the texture is very delicate, and the pattern is sharp, but it is not complete, but only half.
He opened his pocket watch and the hands inside were ticking quietly.
·
Many years ago.
"Which one do you like, Xiu?" The boy with short black hair, holding two pocket watches, looked at Akai Shuichi with sparkling eyes.
Akai Shuichi took a look and said, "They are the same, except that the patterns are in opposite directions."
"Which one do you choose?"
"All right."
The black-haired boy pouted unhappily and reached out to grab Akai Shuichi's face: "Choose quickly!"
"What kind of three-year-old kid are you?" Akai Hideichi said expressionlessly... and grabbed the other person's face.
"A Xiu, take a good look at it! The patterns on the two watches, when put together, form a crown! The gentleman said that when we put our watches together, we would be invincible, like the 'king', so he gave it to us! Isn't it cool? Why aren't you excited at all!"
"That's just something you say to children," Akai Hideichi glanced at the pattern, "very childish."
"What did you say? You said Wang Guan is childish?!" Xiao Miyagawa Ling was struck by lightning. Then, he picked up one at random and stuffed it into Akai Shuichi's pocket. Even though his face was deformed, he still said firmly:
"From now on, you must wear this pocket watch every day! Otherwise, I will call you 'King Akai'!"
"???" Akai Shuichi.
"Hiss... It hurts! King Akai!"
“…”
"You're still pulling my face! If you don't let go, you're done for! Akai King! Akai King!"
"..." Akai Shuichi narrowed his eyes, exerted force with his hands, and tied the two young hands together. He quickly stretched out his other hand...
"Ah-ah! Ah Xiu, I was wrong! I was wrong! I was just kidding!"
·
The little boy pretended to cry pitifully while opening his eyes to peek at his vivid expression, which is still clearly preserved in my memory.
Shuichi Akai closed the watch cover and slowly gripped the pocket watch. In his dark green eyes, there was a mixture of nostalgia and sadness. Deeper in his eyes, there were emotions that were so strong and complex that they were difficult to analyze.
Ling.
I hope you are dead.
Because I’m afraid that you’ll live in pain.
Hope you are still alive.
Because...I want to see you again.
