Chapter 168 She's No Longer Human (3)

The next day, after Jiang Yin left.

Song Qi put the food from the bowl into his pocket and took it with him. He also emptied half of the water from the automatic water dispenser. After making sure everything was in order, he left.

She met up with the others in the office at nine o'clock sharp.

Huanhai City is really rich; they booked first-class tickets for them.

"Isn't that Chi Ying and the others?" Hei Yi asked in a low voice as he saw the people leading others into the airport not far away.

"Damn, how did we run into each other here?" Luo Gu covered his face. "We weren't on the same flight, were we?"

Jiang Yin was a little speechless: "If you hadn't been late, we would have left long ago. Would we have needed to change our tickets?"

"I didn't do it on purpose!" Luo Gu coughed twice. "I feel like that woman is even scarier than before. Everyone else is a cute little kitten, but this one is a terrifying fat cat."

"It would be terrible if we were still sitting together." Li Miao shuddered a couple of times. As a sparrow, she had an innate fear of cats.

“Not really, they’re in first class, we’re in economy.” Jiang Yin narrowed her eyes. “But they’re on the same flight as us.”

"Don't scare yourself. She wouldn't do anything on the plane." Luo Gu patted his chest, trying to reassure himself.

Although he said yesterday that he would leave Chi Ying there forever, when he actually saw her, he wanted to run away. He felt that he would be left there.

Song Qi glanced in the direction of the four people and twitched the corner of his mouth.

Three of the four people were instantly shocked.

"Holy crap, is she watching us?!"

"It seems so!"

"Oh no, have we been discovered?!"

Song Qi knew Jiang Yin was there when she entered the airport, but she didn't plan to go over. It wouldn't be good if she scared them home and ended up in trouble.

She has almost gotten Jiang Yin to accept the orange cat, but she hasn't figured out how to tell Jiang Yin that she is Chi Ying.

"Boss, what are you looking at?" Wei Jingjing followed Song Qi's gaze, somewhat curious.

"It's nothing." Song Qi yawned. "Let's go, it's time to board."

After Song Qi boarded the plane, he started to sleep. The others were used to it and simply kept quiet.

We absolutely must not disturb the boss's sleep, or they'll be thrown off the plane.

Song Qi slept through the entire two-hour flight to Huanhai City.

As soon as Song Qi got off the plane, he saw the people who came to pick him up, holding up a large sign.

"A warm welcome to our fellow demons from all corners of the world!"

Song Qi pulled his hat down a little lower.

However, the person who came to pick them up seemed oblivious to Song Qi's embarrassment. He waved to her and then pulled them together to stand next to the huge sign.

There were quite a few people visiting Huanhai City this time, coming from different cities, and they looked like a tour group standing together.

Song Qi stood there expressionless, and Ye Sui stood behind him, equally expressionless. To be honest, if you put the two of them in the original characters' shoes, it was a bit comical.

Song Qi sensed that many people were looking at him, scrutinizing him in various ways.

She glanced at the time: "Aren't we leaving yet?"

"President Chi, there are still people here." The person in charge of Huanhai City smiled at Song Qi. "I'm sorry to bother you to wait a little longer."

"It's just a fat cat, why is it acting so arrogant?"

"Keep your voice down. Chi Ying is not someone to be trifled with. She once tore apart the cat of that riot gang leader with her bare hands."

Song Qi glanced at the person who spoke: "Excuse me, who was that fat cat you were talking about just now?"

The speaker froze for a moment and looked at Song Qi.

The others also quieted down and looked over, with many automatically moving away from the two people who were speaking.

"I wonder what the parrot tastes like." Song Qi glanced at him up and down, his eyes filled with malice, and then gave him a meaningful smile.

"President Chi..." The parrot trembled with fear.

Song Qi twitched the corner of his mouth and looked away.

After another ten minutes, the last group of people finally arrived.

The group consisted of 42 people in total, and Linhai City simply chartered a bus for them.

It's more like a tour group now; the only thing missing is that everyone was given a little red hat.

Once on the bus, Huanhai City distributed the materials to everyone.

They've apparently found a stronghold of the Anti-Demon Association, and this time they're going to wipe them out in one fell swoop.

"The information you have was obtained at the cost of three colleagues' lives, but the news has already been leaked. This stronghold must contain something important. Many members of the Anti-Demon Association are already heading towards Huanhai City. This could be a major battle," the person in charge said, frowning.

Song Qi read through the information about the strongholds, but the content was not very comprehensive.

The base was located in the mountains, a sparsely populated area. If someone hadn't been attacked by a demon in the mountains, they might not have discovered the base.

"The other party's methods are quite ruthless, so I hope everyone can protect themselves."

"Do you have any specific plans?" Song Qi asked.

The person in charge paused for a moment: "Not for now. We'll take turns managing different areas, and we'll contact each other if anything happens."

"I hope everyone can bring out that important thing while protecting themselves."

Song Qi was speechless. Was it really that casual?

She turned her head to look out the window, pondering the possibility of capturing Jiang Yin and bringing her back to her home.

Given Jiang Yin's temperament in this world, she might just swat her with her claws.

The area they are responsible for in Linhai City is in the east. According to general rules, something is bound to happen in the place where the female lead is located.

The accommodation arranged by Huanhai City was next to that mountain, in an abandoned village. Huanhai City had done some emergency cleaning to make room for the residents, but no matter how much they cleaned it, it still looked dirty and messy. You could just put up a sign and it would be mistaken for a haunted house.

Song Qi and the others, who all came from the same place, were all crammed into one courtyard and did not separate.

"Why do you all have to be in the same courtyard as me?" Song Qi was a little speechless. "We were given five courtyards."

"I always feel this place is eerie, but being with the boss makes me feel safe."

"Yes, we think so too."

"Boss, you absolutely mustn't abandon us."

"Then be quiet and don't bother me." After saying that, Song Qi went back to his room, found a bed and lay down. All the demons of the same gender as Song Qi rushed in after him, all beaming with joy.

"I'm envious. I want to be with the boss too."

The male demons exchanged glances and sighed.

Although we're still in the same courtyard, nothing feels as reassuring as sharing a room with the eldest brother.

"Stop dreaming, let's go." Ye Sui was a little speechless.

He also felt that the place was a bit eerie, but he didn't have any other strong feelings; he was very easygoing.

Once back in his room, he simply transformed back into his original form and went to sleep.

The first one to fall asleep.

At first, he disliked the husky's body, but eventually found it comfortable to sleep like that and quickly accepted it.

So what if it's a husky? Song Qi is still an orange cat, and the original owner of this body was quite fat.

After comparing the two, he felt much better.

When it turns into a husky, it always wants to destroy the house.

Song Qi quickly fell asleep. Since becoming an orange cat, she has been sleeping much longer every day. She had thought she could help the original owner of the body lose weight, but then she thought better of it. As a result, she gained a lot of weight during the time she spent with Jiang Yin.

Song Qi woke up very early in the morning.

She heard some strange noises.

It came from the mountain next to us.

Song Qi didn't wake the people around him. He just left a note, transformed back into his original form, and went out, disappearing into the mountains.

She moved swiftly among the trees.

Despite her weight, she remained as agile as ever.

The sound came from somewhere, and she couldn't find its source.

"Why do we have to gather again?"

"People have come down from the mountain."

"So fast?"

"I heard that Chi Ying came this time too."

"I thought she was already crippled."

"That shouldn't be the case."

Song Qi stopped in the tree and looked down at the two groundhogs below.

“They’re so annoying. We’re doing just fine here. What’s wrong with that? It’s just that someone got hurt. Many of my great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren have been beaten to death.”

"Don't worry, I heard they sent a lot of their main force this time. Once our boss absorbs the power of that treasure, no Qilin or great demon will be his match."

"Aren't you even afraid of a Qilin?"

Song Qi narrowed his eyes, and after confirming that the two groundhogs were just ordinary little demons, he cast a spell on them to freeze them, then jumped down from the tree and covered their mouths before they could scream.

"Answer my questions properly, or I'll crush your heads." Song Qi patted the heads of the two groundhogs with his paw. "Behave yourselves. I've set up a barrier. No matter how loudly you scream, no one will come to save you."

"Chi Ying?"

"Hmm." Song Qi licked his paw. "What is that treasure?"

"I've never seen it either, but I've heard it's a black bead."

Song Qi thought he would have to use some force to get them to talk, but who knew these two were so cowardly.

"Beads?" Song Qi asked thoughtfully. "Where did you get them from?"

"We don't know either. The person holding the bead wasn't originally our leader. He came suddenly... killed our original leader, a tiger demon, and then took over."

"What kind of demon is your current leader?"

"A rabbit."

Song Qi raised an eyebrow: "Take me to your base."

"Huh?" the groundhog exclaimed immediately.

"What is the highest cultivation level you have here, and how many years of cultivation have you accumulated?"

"The longest it ever lasted was 350 years, but recently a lot of people have come to protect that treasure, so we don't know for sure."

Song Qi stroked his chin and patted the two men on the head: "I understand. Then I won't go. When you get back, spread a rumor for me that many people came here not to help him, but just to steal the treasure."

"Such rumors have already circulated."

"I need you to spread the word more carefully. For example, tell me which of the demons who came this time is the most powerful, and that's who will try to steal the rabbit's pearl." Song Qi lowered his voice. "Do you understand what I mean? I've already memorized your scents. If you don't do this, I'll definitely find you and smash your skulls."

Groundhog: ...

"good."

"You can go now." Song Qi released his hand.

The two groundhogs breathed a sigh of relief and ran away.
