There are many buildings on the island, but they are not all clustered in one place. Some are along the coast, some are near the mountains, and some are neither near the mountains nor the sea.
Accommodation was assigned based on the preference list. Humans and vampires were basically separated. It was barely acceptable to get along during the day, but it was too dangerous at night. Although being separated didn't guarantee safety, living further away gave them some psychological comfort.
Humans mostly live in mountainous or inland areas because they are afraid of the cold. Those who live by the sea are mostly vampires. For them, spring, summer, autumn and winter are no different, and they can still swim in the sea.
Of course, a small number of humans also lived by the sea. Some had good relations with the vampires, some were really brave, and some were brought there by others, like Xia Ge.
"Why can you live in a villa all by yourself?" Xia Ge pressed her face against the glass, looking outside. Because the room was warm, she only needed to wear a single layer of clothing.
"Aren't you here too?"
Xia Ge turned to look at Song Qi: "I made plans to stay up all night with them tonight."
"Take me with you."
"No, I won't." Xia Ge refused outright. "We need to give each other personal space."
Song Qi rested her chin on her hand: "So when are you going to formally introduce me to your friends?"
"When are you going to take me home to meet your parents?" Xia Ge asked casually.
Song Qi smiled: "If you want to see me, you can do so after your winter break trip."
Xia Ge: I miscalculated. This person is so thick-skinned, how could he blush when meeting his parents?
Song Qi looked at her vibrating phone: "Oh, my cheapskate dad is calling again. Do you want to meet him?"
Xia Ge blushed and glared at Song Qi. Song Qi stopped teasing her and answered the call.
"Hello?" Song Qi leaned back on the sofa, initially thinking it was another person coming to wish him good luck on his exams.
However, that wasn't what Yao Feng wanted to talk about: "Recently, there have been anti-vampire organizations taking action. How's it going on your end?"
"There haven't been any problems yet." Song Qi walked to the balcony and looked at the beach. "Aren't you going to send some people over?"
She was now almost certain that this lousy organization was definitely after them.
"It's a bit difficult. Recently, people from all the major vampire families have been attacked. You've already sent people to protect you, so I doubt they'll agree to add more people." Judging from Yao Feng's tone, it was clear that this matter had already been brought up.
If a vampire clan wants to send a large number of people out, it needs a vote by members of the vampire nobility.
Song Qi frowned, feeling that something was amiss.
Those who attend this school are mostly direct descendants of various powerful families, and none of them are willing to protect them.
"Could there be someone within the vampire clan colluding with that organization? This operation must be targeted, right?" Song Qi tapped on the glass.
"That's very likely the case. You can be a little selfish and just protect yourself," Yao Feng said in a somewhat cold tone.
Song Qi glanced at Xia Ge; "Yes, I know."
After hanging up the phone, Song Qi walked in from the balcony and rubbed his thumb together: "I have something to do, you can go back first."
"What's wrong?" Xia Ge looked at Song Qi, her intuition telling her that something was amiss.
"It's nothing." Song Qi walked up to Xia Ge and kissed her forehead. "Can't you see the script all the time?"
“Some scenes only have a rough outline, has something happened?” Xia Ge tugged tightly at Song Qi’s clothes. “Then I’m not leaving.”
Song Qi was silent for a few seconds: "If you leave, I only need to ensure my own safety. If you stay here, I will take you with me."
Xia Ge opened her mouth, knowing the truth, but it still hurt to hear Song Qi say it so directly. She realized she was indeed in the way.
She had worked hard to learn various self-defense techniques, but she was still a burden.
"Good girl." Song Qi pinched Xia Ge's face. "I won't get into any trouble. After you go back, I'll find a place to hide too."
"Then you will come with me to the human race."
"I'm the target most likely. Being with you would only implicate you. It's best if I go alone; it'll be easier for me to act."
"Don't worry, I'll really be fine. I have a halo."
However, as it turns out, this statement is like a flag; a flag that stands up will always fall down.
Screams erupted on the beach.
Song Qi frowned and looked over, noticing that most of the vampires on the beach had fallen, and a ship had docked on the shore, from which many people disembarked.
"I'll take you out." Song Qi pulled Xia Ge to the back window, preparing to carry her away. However, as soon as he opened the window, he saw someone pointing a gun at him.
The gun wasn't loaded with bullets, but with something else.
Upon sensing the trigger being pulled, Song Qi immediately stepped back and grabbed the steel basin beside him, retaliating with it.
"Call my dad." Song Qi tossed the phone to Xia Ge.
Xia Gege trembled slightly, but didn't make any mistakes.
However, no one answered the phone.
Xia Ge had no choice but to send text messages instead.
Song Qi has almost thrown everything away from the bathroom.
People have already come up from downstairs.
Song Qi thought for a moment, looked at the bathroom door, and pushed Xia Ge into the cabinet: "Be good and don't come out."
After saying that, he grabbed a mop, went downstairs, and shoved someone off the stairs.
Many vampires have already been captured and brought to the open space, as well as humans. Song Qi glanced around and realized that basically everyone who lived here was here.
They were all restrained, and it seemed they couldn't move.
"Are you all trash?" Song Qi glanced at the group of vampires, but his movements didn't stop.
The vampires weren't angry when they were scolded; they just looked ashamed because they really did seem like trash.
She was ruthless and showed no mercy.
Song Qi always understood that being merciful to the enemy was being cruel to oneself.
In the blink of an eye, Song Qi had killed more than a dozen people.
"As expected of Yao Xi, who is S+, but if you don't stop, I'll kill her."
Upon hearing the sound, Song Qi looked up and gazed upstairs.
Xia Ge was pulled out of the closet, her hands were tied behind her back, and her hair and clothes were disheveled, clearly indicating that she had been in a struggle.
There was a handprint on his face.
Song Qi's expression became visibly worse.
"Miss Yao must care a lot about this person," the man said, pointing the gun at Xia Ge's head.
Xia Ge bit her lip.
"You hit her."
"Yes, so what?" The other person smiled, seemingly unconcerned. "What does Miss Yao plan to do?"
The person next to Song Qi raised a gun and pointed it at him.
The muzzle contains a drug; once it enters a vampire's body, they will become immobile.
There aren't many ways to kill vampires, but controlling them is quite easy.
"If you dare touch her, I will tear you all to pieces, one by one." Song Qi's voice was cold. "You took her hostage because you must have realized that all of you combined might not be able to control me."
As Song Qi spoke, he used the mop in his hand to deflect the needles that were being shot at him.
He opened them with unhurried movements, without even glancing at them.
"If you don't believe me, you can try it and see if you lose more or I lose more. Don't worry, I'll give you VIP service. My Lingchi technique is pretty good. Do you want to try it?" Song Qi grinned and stared at him.
His blood-red eyes exuded a chilling aura.
"We just want Miss Yao to come with us; we have no intention of harming anyone."
"Oh, really?" Song Qi smirked. "Who hit her?"
"They are my two men. Alas, this young lady resisted quite fiercely, and there was nothing we could do."
“Come to me, let me kill them, and then give me Xia Ge. Then we can have normal negotiations.”
"Boss! Don't listen to her!"
"This woman is obviously lying."
“It’s hard for me to run away with her.” Song Qi said expressionlessly.
"Here you go, I have more than one bargaining chip anyway." The man smiled and threw Xia Ge off the balcony.
Song Qi immediately rushed out, caught Xia Ge, and held her protectively in his arms. He glanced at her swollen face, narrowed his eyes, and looked at the two people on the balcony.
"As for these two henchmen, how about I give them each a beating for Miss Yao?"
Song Qi smirked, picked up two syringes from the ground, and threw them at the two men: "No need for you to bother."
The needle, along with the syringe, pierced through the brains of both men.
The surroundings were completely silent.
"Heh, it's rare to see a vampire treat a human so well."
Xia Ge clenched her fists, her mind in turmoil. If she weren't here, Song Qi wouldn't be in such a passive position.
Ultimately, it's because I'm too weak.
"What does this have to do with you?" Song Qi asked expressionlessly, then smirked. "I roughly know what your purpose is. It's really interesting that the anti-vampire organization is colluding with the vampires themselves."
The man paused for a moment, then laughed and clapped his hands: "I didn't expect Miss Yao to be so clever. Someone wants us to take some of the vampires who came to the island this time, so that they can never go back. Look, this is the list."
He took a piece of paper out of his pocket and waved it.
The vampires all looked over; their eyesight was good enough that they could still make out the names on the paper.
They were basically from the five major families and some people who were slightly weaker than the five major families.
“Look, Miss Yao, your name is first.” The man smiled. “Speaking of which, it’s quite a coincidence. I found a promising talent in the underground casino in the slums. I was originally going to take him on as my subordinate, but then I discovered that there was an even bigger coincidence. His name is Ye Sui.”
Xia Ge heard two "beep" sounds.
"Oh, so what?"
"So, it seems that Miss Yao might not be able to escape so easily."
"How do I know the person you found is one of mine?" Song Qi's face remained expressionless.
“I wasn’t sure at first, but I saw him fighting with others in an underground casino. His moves, how should I put it, seem to have a lot in common with Miss Yao’s.” The man continued to smile.
Song Qi was somewhat irritated.
I was originally planning to find another opportunity to leave, but now it seems I have no choice but to make the trip.
"He's just one of my subordinates. If I can train the first one, I can train the second one too."
"Oh? If that's the case, why is Miss Yao looking for him? Why not just train him again? If Miss Yao doesn't want him, I'll call someone to kill him right now. He's not exactly an obedient person anyway," the man said, staring at Song Qi.
