Chapter 8 Not Allowed to Watch
Su Xia has thin skin, and her face easily turns red when she gets a little excited, causing her ears and cheeks to turn red.
To cheer herself up, she clenched her fists tightly, digging her fingernails into her palms. "I recorded it all. You, you didn't pay for the meal and you're still causing trouble! Transfer the money quickly, or I'll call the police. You can't get away!"
How could a man be willing to be taught by such a little girl?
He raised his hand and pushed her hard, then withdrew his hand with the curse words still in his mouth.
Su Xia still had some baby fat this year, and was plump and round, so she was not a great beauty. But for this kind of ruffian, no matter how good-looking a person's appearance was, it was not as intimidating as real gold and silver.
Nothing much can be seen from the white skirt and the little leather shoes.
But the bracelet dangling from her wrist was dazzlingly bright even in the dim light of the night market, and everyone knew it was expensive.
Why is he so unlucky today?
Just because that guy has a fake school uniform and a pretty face, a rich girl passing by is willing to stand up for him?
"Xia Xia, can you please let your uncle go through?"
The noise here was getting louder and louder. Su Lijun shouted from a distance, but there was no place to park, so he had to lower the window and honk the horn twice on the spot.
Su Xia waved over there.
He was quite intimidating with his arm tattoos and gold chains, and the Bentley logo on the front of his car made it clear that this girl was not to be messed with.
The more local you are, the more you understand that there are always people better than you.
The bald man spat, his face livid as he pulled out his phone, his fingers tapping the screen. "Today is such a bad day..."
He finished transferring the money while cursing, and seeing passersby still gathered around to watch the fun, he kicked a can on the side of the road viciously, "What the hell are you looking at!"
He was the only one shouting.
The troublemaker left, and passersby also felt bored and dispersed after a while.
Xu Jiqing's fried noodle stall is in a bad location, almost at the end of the entire night market. After what happened, it is difficult to do business tonight. Only the promotional loudspeaker sound from the small shop opposite is looping over and over again, noisy and lonely.
The summer breeze blew, and the light bulb swayed slightly.
Xu Jiqing grabbed a rag and wiped the oil off the back of his hand. He turned the gas valve, cleaned up the scattered vegetable scraps on the stove, and put the wrinkled payment code that Su Xia had pinched back up high.
He was the same as Su Xia remembered.
I don’t know if it’s because he can endure the pain, or if he is born with a slower sense of pain than others, but he doesn’t care about his own body at all, even to the point of cruelty.
The trash can was overturned on the ground, and Su Xia had nowhere to put the milk tea cup in her hand.
She hesitated in front of the stall for a long time, but Xu Jiqing reached out his hand to her first, "Give it to me."
"……oh."
He extended his left hand.
Su Xia responded and slowly handed him the cup. She took the opportunity to tiptoe and glance at his hanging hand.
Before he could catch a glimpse of anything, Xu Jiqing put his hands behind his back to prevent anyone from looking.
Su Xia felt quite embarrassed for a moment.
She was really concerned about her classmate's injury, but his defensiveness made her look like a lecher in feudal society, peeking into places she shouldn't have.
Under the old light bulb, the Xu brothers and sisters stood side by side.
The older one was bending over to work with a cold face, while the younger one had just been frightened and cried, with tears and snot still on his fair little face, he looked up at her in a daze.
It is easier said than done to gain the trust of a child.
After what happened just now, Xu Jiaojiao already felt that this sweet and fragrant sister was a good person. She raised her hand to wipe her face and mustered up the courage to smile at Su Xia.
The same light brown eyes looked like cool animals on Xu Jiqing's face, but turned into honey-colored glass beads on Xu Jiaojiao's face, round and bright, like little angels.
Su Xia's heart was melted by cuteness.
She smiled back and was about to squat down to say a few words to Xu Jiaojiao when Xu Jiqing suddenly stood up and glanced in her direction.
Without saying thank you, he just grabbed his sister's hand.
It means to drive her away.
Su Xia half-knelt down and stood up slowly.
She didn't want to argue with the wounded, but she still couldn't save face.
She had even thought about what to do if Xu Jiqing had a crush on her in high school. But after dealing with her twice, all her self-conceit disappeared.
With his current attitude, Su Xia became more certain of his initial speculation.
How could Xu Jiqing marry her if he liked her? She must have done something unforgivable in the past, which made him want revenge so much.
She didn't move, and Xu Jiqing didn't say anything more to her. He just kept working until Su Xia seemed to have finally had enough of this thankless job and turned to walk towards her uncle.
Xu Jiqing glanced at him out of the corner of his eye, secretly mocking himself for being crazy.
When she came closer, he thought that the young lady was just acting on a whim and was using him as a new toy for amusement.
But when she really turned around and left, he felt even more annoyed.
There were many people on the street, and the girl in the short skirt walked fast, like a fluttering white butterfly, and soon she disappeared from sight.
A small table and stool were placed diagonally behind the stall, with an eye-protection lamp next to the table for Xu Jiaojiao to use while doing homework.
Xu Jiqing turned off the lights and quickly put the textbooks into his small schoolbag. Seeing Xu Jiaojiao still standing on tiptoe to look at the end of the street, he grabbed her by the back of the collar and pulled her back, ignoring the elementary school student's whining protests.
What else are you looking at?
Everyone has left.
Before transferring to Jiangcheng, they opened a fried noodle shop in their hometown and were familiar with the place.
When Lin Yuezhen trotted back, the grease on Xu Jiqing's school uniform had mostly dried. He put down his sleeves, stretched out his long and strong arms, and pulled the high ceiling.
Xu Jiaojiao stood at his feet, her big eyes a little red, but she seemed to be in a good mood. She tilted her head and whispered to her brother.
On the way back, the owner of another stall chatted with her for a few words, but Lin Yuezhen didn't listen carefully, only catching one or two words in the obscure southern dialect:
"...they were arguing fiercely...and they were fighting with the children..."
"The pot almost flipped over, and the little girl was scalded and started crying..."
Lin Yuezhen's mind was filled with her young daughter, and she was so anxious that she was sweating all over. Seeing that Xu Jiaojiao didn't seem to be in any serious condition, she felt relieved.
She squatted in front of Xu Jiaojiao, wiped the sweat from her hands on her apron, and carefully examined the girl's delicate face and hands under the light. Seeing a small blister on her arm, she frowned with heartache.
"Is it from the commotion just now? Jiaojiao, is it hurt? Are you hurt anywhere else?"
Xu Jiaojiao pursed her lips and shook her head.
She showed half of her face in her mother's arms, pushed the woman out, and said in a thin voice, "I'm not in pain, but my brother is."
Lin Yuezhen seemed to have just remembered that she had a son and quickly turned her head to look over.
Xu Jiqing worked very efficiently. In just a short while, the car was completely packed.
He carried Xu Jiaojiao's pink backpack on one shoulder and leaned against the car seat, not looking like he was in pain at all.
Lin Yuezhen hesitated and said, "...Did you fight with someone?"
"No."
Xu Jiqing's voice was steady, and he silently put his right hand behind his back. "It's not as exaggerated as Xu Jiaojiao said. I'm fine."
"That's good." The woman's brows relaxed.
I've just moved to Jiangcheng two days ago, so it's better to have less trouble than more.
When he said that, Lin Yuezhen was willing to believe it.
