Chapter 83 The Old Kurosawa Formation

Chapter 83 The Old Kurosawa Formation

"Seriously? Would someone really come all this way just to see a crime scene?" Inspector Megure looked around with a skeptical expression.

He couldn't possibly be unfamiliar with the layout here; he and his brother Kurosawa had handled that heinous serial murder case together back then.

Unfortunately... Brother Kurosawa is already...

He frowned, a pang of sadness in his heart.

The corpse on the ground appeared to have no external injuries, but if you turned the corpse over, you could see a gruesome and fatal wound.

"The deceased was Ms. Ogawa Niji, 22 years old, an employee of this hotel," Officer Takagi said, still holding his notebook.

"Witnesses said they heard a loud bang after the power outage, and when the power was restored, they entered the room and saw the body."

"Where are the witnesses?" Inspector Megure asked, then noticed Conan and the others standing not far away.

"Hello, Inspector Megure!" Conan stepped forward to greet him.

"Oh, it's Conan. Brother Gu Ze is here too. Where's Brother Mouri?" Inspector Megure said with a smile, his eyes narrowed.

“Dad is at home. We all came to the hot springs together,” Xiaolan replied.

"I see, hahaha, with Brother Gu Ze here, I think this case will definitely be solved soon." Inspector Megure patted Gu Ze on the back as usual.

Gu Ze chuckled and winked at Conan, "That depends on Conan."

Conan: Hehe~

"Inspector Megure, after questioning, we can narrow down the suspects to three people: the store manager, Akita Noriaki, the employee, Ono Azusa, and Hanazawa Hori."

Ono Azusa and Hanazawa Hori are the real names of Amethyst and Citrine, respectively.

After Takagi finished speaking, a sharp female voice rang out.

"How can you doubt me? I only arrived here half an hour ago. What could I have done in half an hour?" the store manager said aggressively.

"Besides, with these clothes on, how could I possibly kill someone?" She turned around, the clanging of silverware echoing throughout the crime scene, piercing people's eardrums.

Inspector Megure rubbed his ears and said, "Madam, don't worry, we won't wrong an innocent person, nor will we let a bad person go free. Why don't you go change your clothes first? This outfit is really inconvenient."

After finishing speaking, Inspector Megure gestured for Takagi to continue his report.

"The shop assistants here are named after crystals of different colors. A group of tourists visited this room an hour ago, and there was nothing unusual about the room at that time."

"Therefore, the time of death of the deceased can be estimated to be one hour ago. According to the surveillance footage, none of the three suspects had an alibi during this period."

“However, there are only two keys to this room, one with the manager and one at the front desk. They can only be taken out when guests are visiting,” Amethyst said, raising her hand.

“I know, it’s a secret room!” Judy said in broken neon.

"Ah—!" Yellow Crystal Hanazawa suddenly screamed in terror. She was thin and small, and huddled next to Amethyst.

"A ghost! A ghost! It's the ghost of someone who died here before!"

The amethyst quickly tried to calm the citrine down.

"No way, there really is a ghost." Sonoko trembled.

Conan, with his half-moon eyes, said, "How could there be ghosts in this world! Ghosts are just figments of people's imaginations."

After changing his clothes, the store manager saw someone mention the serial murder case and decided to seize this opportunity to clear his name.

She said, "It wasn't a ghost; it was the work of a criminal who killed someone here many years ago."

“That serial killer is still in jail, and he’s been insane for a long time,” Inspector Megure refuted her opinion.

"The crime scene this time does look very similar to that case from back then, but many details don't match up. It's a copycat crime," he recalled.

However, the store manager still wouldn't have it, and she snorted coldly.

"Don't think I don't know. There are rumors that the guy in jail is just a scapegoat you found, and the real serial killer is still at large!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the surrounding police officers all looked at the store manager.

"What are you looking at! Isn't that right?"

"Ms. Ogawa, please don't talk nonsense. Watch your words." Inspector Megure was clearly angered, and his tone was serious.

Seeing this, the store manager had no choice but to shut his mouth and silently take a few steps back.

Once the troublemakers quieted down, everyone was fully engaged in the investigation.

As usual, Conan wandered around the crime scene, making silly noises while pretending to be clueless.

"It's really interesting to watch you solve the case on the spot, Conan." Gu Ze walked up to Conan and interrupted his thoughts.

As he spoke, he leaned close to Conan's ear and mimicked his tone, "Ah-le-le~"

"Shut up!" Conan rolled his eyes at Gu Ze; he was almost immune to Gu Ze's teasing.

Have you found the murderer?

"No, with you here, do I need to use my brain?" Gu Ze winked at him, implying that he was going to wash his hands of the business.

He added, "Mr. Mori won't be here, so I'll lip-sync and you'll do the voice-over. It's decided that way."

"Hey, you bastard! I haven't agreed yet!" Conan gritted his teeth, glaring at Gu Ze.

Ahhhhh, when can I turn back?! That way I won't be controlled by anyone anymore!

Conan shouted in his heart.

He stomped his foot, then approached the silent yellow crystal.

The next step is the final one...

"Sister Yellow Crystal, who led the guests who visited here an hour ago?"

"Uh...it's me."

That's it! Conan was even more certain of his answer.

In order to prevent Gu Ze's wishful thinking from succeeding, Conan decides to knock out Sonoko Suzuki and bring "Sleeping Sonoko Suzuki" back into the world!

"The culprit is you, Ms. Hikari Hanazawa..." Conan said, hiding behind Sonoko Suzuki and using a voice changer with a ribbon.

"You killed him an hour ago, then hung him from the roof with a time-delay device..."

When all the evidence was laid out before Huang Shuijing, she knelt down and wept bitterly in repentance.

And so, this part of the story finally came to an end...

No, not at all. After Conan finished his deduction, he discovered that Gu Ze was not in the room.

He left the room and went into the hallway, where he saw Gu Ze, Dr. Shinichi, and Judy chatting "pleasantly".

What appears to be a friendly exchange is actually a mutual test...

Conan realized he had misunderstood Gu Ze; it turned out he hadn't been slacking off.

With such a good opportunity, how could Conan let it slip by?

He jogged over to Gu Ze's side and forcefully joined the three-person group chat with an innocent and carefree attitude.

"Hey, Gu Ze, Shinichi, and Judy, what are you talking about?"

"Pfft!" Gu Ze couldn't help it any longer and turned his head away, desperately trying to suppress the urge to grin from his lips.

Two seconds later, after receiving two sharp glances from Conan, Gu Ze suppressed a laugh and said, "Excuse me, I suddenly remembered something funny. My apologies."

"It's alright, it's alright," Judy said, trying to smooth things over. "Let's get back to what we were talking about earlier."

Vermouth smiled gently, her demeanor refined and courteous, answering every question posed by the two opposite her with perfect composure.

At the same time, she secretly tried to figure out the identities of the people present.

The English teacher probed with every sentence; based on her speaking and acting style, it was easy to tell she was a cop, probably from the US…

Then there's Conan. After her interactions and investigations over the past few days, Conan is very likely the "Cool Guy"!

As for this handsome man, he spoke succinctly and his identity was somewhat ambiguous, but he seemed to have a good relationship with "Cool Guy," suggesting that he knew about the organization's existence.

At this point, Gu Ze casually brought up the topic of the serial murders that had occurred here a few years ago.

"I remember two or three people died," Gu Ze recalled, stroking his chin. "To this day, no one knows how the killer committed the murders."

"Wow, how mysterious!" Judy exclaimed with great interest.

"The policeman who solved the case was very famous at the time. He was the young master of the Kurosawa Group, named Kurosawa Jin. If it weren't for him, more than just two or three people might have died," Gu Ze continued.

Vermouth saw through Gu Ze's guidance and was willing to go along with it to see what the other party was up to.

Moreover, she also vaguely remembered Kurosawa Jin; he had the same face as Gin.

Because of this face, he was killed by Gin.

It's a bit of a shame. If this person were alive, she could have easily brought him to her side for some fun.

“I’ve heard of him. He was a very capable policeman, hailed as the savior of the police force at the time,” Vermouth joined the conversation.

“Oh! He must be a high-ranking officer in the Japanese police now,” Judy guessed.

Gu Ze shook his head and said, "No, he sacrificed himself."

“Oh no, it’s really sad.” Judy’s tone softened.

"Brother Gu Ze, do you know him?" Conan tugged at Gu Ze's sleeve and asked.

"Yes, I've investigated him. His death is still shrouded in mystery. As a detective, I'm very interested in his case."

Gu Ze read out the answer he had prepared.

Jin Kurosawa is someone Conan knows. He met him a few times when he was a child, but he has almost forgotten what he looks like.

In his memory, Kurosawa Jin's name appeared most often in the praise and descriptions of the Kudo couple.

A voice inside Conan told him that he had to see what this person looked like.

"Brother Gu Ze, do you have a picture of Kurosawa Jin? I'm a little curious..."

"I don't have one, but I can have Matsuda send you one."

A few hours later, the dust settled, and Conan and Ran returned to the Mouri Detective Agency.

"What!"

Conan stared in disbelief at the photo sent by Matsuda Jinpei.

"No way!"

How could there possibly be two people exactly alike in this world!

Are Gin and Kurosawa Jin twins? Is Gin Kurosawa's long-lost son? Or perhaps Gin is Kurosawa Jin himself?

A series of questions popped into Conan's head.

As he reviewed the day's events, he suddenly realized that he had once again been led by the nose by Gu Ze.

They went through all that trouble just to tell me that Jin Kurosawa and Gin look alike!

Damn it! Gu Ze, that guy, clearly knows a lot of information, but he just won't tell me directly, he has to pull this stunt.

Conan jumped up in a rage.
