Chapter 85 The Bleeding Suitcase
Police quickly cordoned off the crime scene.
"Click! Click!" The sound of a camera taking pictures rang out as forensic police officers from the Forensic Science Department took photos of the crime scene to collect evidence.
"Hiss~ That was ruthless!" Matsuda Jinpei, wearing white gloves, examined the corpse in the suitcase.
The deceased was a woman who appeared to be in her twenties or thirties. The cause of death was a stab wound to the abdomen.
"He was stabbed more than a dozen times in the abdomen; this whole area was almost chopped into mincemeat."
Fortunately, Matsuda Jinpei was a veteran of many battles; if it had been a newcomer, he would have been vomiting on the sidelines long ago.
"The body shows signs of being frozen." Kenji Hagiwara touched the frost that hadn't melted off the body's skin.
"This means the deceased died not today, but earlier." Gu Ze's voice came from behind Matsuda Jinpei.
Upon hearing this, Matsuda Jinpei's attention shifted from the corpse, and he stood up to look at Edogawa Conan and Gu Ze not far away.
Gu Ze remained calm, while our elementary school detective was eager to try his hand at it.
"Tsk! Didn't I tell you to wait outside the cordon?" Matsuda Jinpei's temper flared up instantly.
He strode towards the two of them, grabbed Conan by the back of his collar, and said, "This is not a place for children!"
“And you too.” Matsuda Jinpei glared at Gu Ze.
“I’m not a child.” Gu Ze glared back at Matsuda Jinpei.
"Enough with the nonsense!" Matsuda Jinpei roared, using his gorilla-like strength to push Gu Ze away.
Just as the group reached the cordon, they ran into the Kudo couple and Kenji Hagiwara, who were returning from the monitoring room.
Kenji Hagiwara looked at Conan, who was being carried around with a look of utter despair, and laughed, "Haha, Conan, you're running around the crime scene again."
As he spoke, he pinched Conan's cheek.
"Oh dear, I'm so sorry." Yukiko Kudo quickly picked up Conan and carried him away. "Shin... Conan has caused you trouble."
Kenji Hagiwara and Jinpei Matsuda already know that the Kudo couple are distant relatives of Conan Edogawa.
The handshake from one hand to the other was not pleasant for Conan Edogawa. After landing, he ran behind Gu Ze's legs and touched his face.
Honestly! Why do they all like to get handsy?!
"You've already checked the surveillance footage, right? Did you find anyone suspicious?" Gu Ze got back to the main topic.
Kenji Hagiwara straightened his expression and turned to look at Yusaku Kudo, who nodded.
"Mr. Kudo and I narrowed down the suspects to three people," he recounted the case.
“This is a blind spot for surveillance cameras, but we checked the surveillance footage across from the restroom, and combined with what the cleaning lady said, we can pinpoint the time the suitcase appeared to be between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m..”
Yusaku Kudo continued from Kenji Hagiwara's words: "According to the surveillance footage, only three people passed through here during that period."
"Yes, we've already sent people to look for them. Hopefully, they haven't left yet."
Gu Ze listened while his mind wandered. This case was not within his expectations, so he didn't care about it at all.
He was figuring out how to move forward with his plan.
With the Kudo couple, Kenji Hagiwara, and Jinpei Matsuda all present, this is a great opportunity.
Soon after, Kenji Hagiwara and Jinpei Matsuda left, and Conan wandered around aimlessly. Yukiko Kudo followed behind Conan, watching him. At this moment, Gu Ze quietly approached Yusaku Kudo, who was alone.
"Mr. Gu Ze, do you want to chat with me again?" Kudo Yusaku said, seemingly anticipating Gu Ze's actions.
"Haha, Mr. Kudo is a smart man. When talking to a smart person, I won't beat around the bush." Gu Ze stood next to Kudo Yusaku, watching the busy crowd with him.
Gu Ze coughed lightly and got to the point, "Mr. Kudo was able to find out my private identity, so he must know about what I've been investigating recently."
“After all, I just posted a bounty on the dark web a few days ago,” he reminded her.
Kudo Yusaku glanced at Gu Ze, then continued to observe the entire room. "I know you're investigating the Beika Bridge case from a few years ago."
"You've come to me now because you want to know about that policeman, right?"
“That’s right, this incident is very mysterious, and there’s more to it than meets the eye.” Gu Ze nodded.
He offered an enticing condition, "Of course, I'm a man of principle. Intelligence can be exchanged, or you could want something else..."
"This world is too dangerous. I can assure you that as long as I'm here, your son will be safe."
Gu Ze grasped Kudo Yusaku's pain point as a father.
Upon hearing this, Kudo Yusaku immediately turned to stare at Gu Ze.
Suddenly, he burst into laughter, catching everyone off guard.
"Hahaha!"
[Ding! Yusaku Kudo thinks your behavior is kind of cute.]

Gu Ze: ? ? ?
Looking at Gu Ze's face, which looked no more than twenty-four, Kudo Yusaku felt a pang of heartache for him.
"Gu Zejun, or may I call you Xiao Ze?"
"Of course... you can." Gu Ze said with a forced smile, his attitude changing unexpectedly.
As expected, Yusaku Kudo is his nemesis!
"I'm investigating you only out of a father's desire to protect his son, and I hope you can understand."
[Ding! Kudo Yusaku has reached an initial level of trust in you.]
Kudo Yusaku's approval rating +10]
“I don’t know much about that case back then. My friend at the police station told me that it was closely related to that black-clad organization.”
Gu Ze: ...
You call this not knowing much? What Kenji Hagiwara and Jinpei Matsuda spent years researching, you can just find out through connections!
Gu Ze inwardly complained, but didn't show it on his face. "Thank you for the information!"
However, at that moment, Conan, who was watching Gu Ze and Kudo Yusaku chatting and laughing not far away, drifted towards them quietly.
"Hey~ what are you guys whispering about again?"
A gloomy voice came from their side, reaching the ears of Kudo Yusaku and Gu Ze.
"Ahem, Officer Matsuda probably needs some help, I'll go help him." Kudo Yusaku casually made up an excuse, leaving Conan to Gu Ze to deal with.
"Mr. Kudo and I were just having a friendly chat about everyday things."
“You’re lying, I heard everything.” Conan pointed smugly at Gu Ze’s rolled-up trouser legs.
Gu Ze looked down and saw something inside the rolled-up trouser legs.
"You actually planted a listening device, Conan. You've improved." Gu Ze said, picking up the little gadget the professor had made.
"A fall into a pit, a gain in your wit." Conan stood with his arms crossed.
"I heard everything, aren't you going to tell me? What is your other identity? What is Kurozawa Jin's connection with the organization?"
"I can tell you everything except my own information," Gu Ze said, raising his hands in surrender.
"Based on what I've found out, and combined with the information I got from your father, I can say with certainty that Kurosawa Jin's death is definitely related to the organization, especially Gin."
"The police closed the case without even conducting an autopsy on Kurosawa Jin's body, without any investigation. What does that mean?"
"Kurosawa Jin, Public Security Bureau, the organization, Gin... these are all connected."
Tell Conan this basic information first, and when the real agent returns from undercover work, gaining his approval will be a piece of cake.
Gu Ze was smugly thinking about it. Seeing that he had achieved his goal, he quietly left, leaving Conan alone to think.
What happened next needs no further explanation.
"Oh dear, this lady's skirt is torn!" Conan pointed to a hole in a suspect's clothes.
Upon hearing Conan point out the crucial evidence, Kenji Hagiwara and Jinpei Matsuda immediately realized what was happening.
You are the murderer!
"You first killed the victim, then froze the body in a refrigerator. Today at 1 PM, you put the body in your suitcase and brought it to the airport. During this time, the suitcase zipper broke..."
The murderer wept bitterly and was brought to justice; in the end, justice did not prevail over evil.
The great elementary school detective Conan Edogawa has solved another murder case.
