Chapter 11: Brocade Mystery: Time Travel and the Fate of the Tang Dynasty

As time went by, Yuejin Pavilion prospered under Lin Yue's meticulous management, becoming a leading handicraft and skincare store in the city and even in the surrounding towns. However, Lin Yue's longing for his hometown grew stronger and stronger, like wild weeds growing wildly in spring.

One afternoon, Lin Yue was sorting out accounts in the pavilion as usual when Ah Xiang hurried over, holding a brocade handkerchief and looking quite excited. "Miss Lin, come and take a look. This is an embroidery I bought at the market today. The pattern on it is extremely unique, I have never seen it before. I thought that since you are knowledgeable, you might be able to figure it out."

Lin Yue put down the account book and took the handkerchief. It was of fine quality, delicately embroidered. In the center was an intricate circular pattern, interwoven with numerous lines and symbols, evoking a subtle mystical aura. As Lin Yue examined it carefully, a strange sense of familiarity welled up within him.

Suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck her mind: certain parts of this pattern bore a resemblance to the star maps in ancient astronomical calendar books she had read in the 21st century. Her heartbeat quickened. Could this be related to her time travel?

Lin Yue suppressed his inner excitement and said to Ah Xiang, "Ah Xiang, you collected this handkerchief just in time. This pattern may contain a great secret. Do you still remember the appearance of the person who sold it to you?"

Ah Xiang recalled for a moment and said, "It was an old man in a gray robe, with a thin face and deep eyes. He said that this brocade handkerchief was passed down from his ancestors, and today his family is in urgent need of money, so he is selling it." Lin Yue nodded. "Where's Ah Fu? Tell him to go to the market as soon as possible to find the old man and be sure to invite him over. I have something important to ask you."

While waiting for Ah Fu, Lin Yue searched through her memories brought back from the modern era, trying to find clues related to the pattern among those fragments of knowledge. She increasingly felt that this pattern might be the key to unlocking the mystery of time travel.

In the evening, Ah Fu returned breathless, but the old man was nowhere to be found. He said dejectedly, "Miss Lin, I've searched the market for the old man, but I can't find him. I heard from others that he seemed to have vanished suddenly." Lin Yue's heart sank, but she quickly cheered up. "It's okay, Ah Fu. The handkerchief has appeared, so we have the clue. If we take a long-term approach, we can find a solution."

That night, Lin Yue pondered over her handkerchief and fell asleep. She dreamed of returning to her home in the 21st century, surrounded by family and friends, filled with laughter and joy. Suddenly, a strong wind blew, and the scene vanished, plunging her into darkness again.

In the darkness, the pattern on the brocade handkerchief gradually enlarged, emitting a soft light, and a voice sounded in her ears: "If you want to go home, go and explore the truth behind the pattern. It is closely related to the fate of the Tang Dynasty..." Lin Yue woke up suddenly, her forehead covered with sweat, but the scene in her dream was vivid.

The next day, Lin Yue gathered Ah Xiang, Ah Fu, Aunt Wang, and others and told them about the handkerchief and her dream. Everyone was amazed. Aunt Wang said worriedly, "Miss Lin, this sounds too mysterious. Is it dangerous?"

Lin Yue said firmly, "Aunt Wang, even if it's dangerous, I must give it a try. This may be my only chance to return home. And since this pattern is related to the fate of the Tang Dynasty, we can't just sit back and watch."

Ah Fu patted his chest and said, "Miss Lin, whatever you say, we'll do whatever you say. No matter what difficulties we encounter, we at Yuejin Pavilion will face them together." Ah Xiang also nodded in agreement, "Yes, Miss Lin, we'll be with you."

Lin Yue and his group embarked on a journey to uncover the secrets of the brocade pattern. They visited scholars and painters throughout the city, even visiting high-ranking monks in temples, hoping to gain some clues about the mysterious pattern. However, everyone shook their heads; no one could explain the pattern's meaning.

Just when everyone was feeling discouraged, Ah Fu stumbled upon a tattered ancient book in an abandoned Taoist temple on the outskirts of the city. The text was obscure, but several illustrations bore a striking resemblance to the designs on the handkerchief. Overjoyed, Ah Fu hurriedly brought the book back to Lin Yue.

Lin Yue looked at the ancient book, a glimmer of hope in her eyes. She knew she was one step closer to the truth. But fully deciphering the secrets of the ancient book and the handkerchief would require more time and effort. Meanwhile, Yuejin Pavilion's business couldn't be neglected, leaving Lin Yue in a dilemma.

On a starry night, Lin Yue stood alone on the rooftop of Yuejin Pavilion, gazing at the stars. Clutching the handkerchief tightly in her hand, she silently thought, "Home, I will definitely find my way back. My fellow Yuejin Pavilion members, I will not let you down. This time, I will solve the mystery of time travel while safeguarding our shared cause."
