Chapter 9 Chapter 9

Chapter 9 Chapter 9

The Fifth People's Hospital of City A.

After coaxing Bai Minmin, Lu Yi has been waiting here for five days. Every day, he would take a taxi here as long as he had no classes.

But he never once met the person he was looking for, a young girl in a wheelchair.

Lu Yi continued to look around, but unfortunately, he was dazzled by the sight of everyone in hospital gowns. He had considered trying to get to know Bai Ruoruo through other means. But even Minmin didn't have her sister's contact information on social media, so where else could he find her?

He didn't like hospitals. In his mind, they were full of viruses and couldn't be dirtier. He used to avoid hospitals whenever possible.

But for Minmin, he was willing to do anything he was asked to do.

It was his own choice to come to the hospital without telling Minmin and to take the initiative to get to know Bai Ruoruo. Minmin had suffered too much injustice in the past, but she was such a kind person, so he just wanted to do his best to do something for her.

Bai Ruoruo is really an annoying person, but because she is Minmin's sister, she cannot be ignored.

Lu Yi doesn't understand Bai Minmin's pain because of her sister, but that doesn't stop him from admiring and praising her. Only kind and good people would keep all the pain to themselves. In Lu Yi's view, Bai Minmin is just such a silly girl.

[Lu Yi, you're going to the hospital again? I don't understand. If you like Bai Minmin, can't you take this opportunity to comfort her more? You might even be able to take advantage of her situation. What's the point of you going to the hospital to stalk her sister? Without her sister, would a big shot like Xia Peizhi be interested in Bai Minmin? I'm not saying anything bad, but can you please wake up? Anyway, I still say that, with Xia Peizhi's wealth, there's no woman he can't want.]

Lu Yi looked at the new voice message on his phone and was so annoyed that he left without finishing listening and did not reply.

A moment later, another message arrived: "Third brother, are you coming back for dinner? We're having a dorm party tonight. Come back early and we'll go out together! Fourth brother doesn't have any bad intentions. He said that because he's worried about you. You're free to make any choice you want, but as the dorm leader, I still have to remind you. You said yourself that Bai Minmin's sister has a congenital heart disease. You should take it easy!"

Both messages were private. Lu Yi hesitated for a moment and replied to the dormitory head's message.

I'll be back before six o'clock.

He opened the group chat message and found that ever since he told the group what he wanted to do, he and the fourth brother had a disagreement. There had been no new messages in their dormitory group for four days.

The four of them had always been close, especially him and the fourth oldest, Hu Chuan. Before this, the two of them had always eaten together, played games, and played ball together. Except for when he and Min Min were "dating," they were always inseparable and got along very well.

But this compatibility was broken four days ago.

[Deliberately deceiving a girl's feelings, aren't you disgusting! Lu Yi, you deserve to be called a bootlicker!]

Those words were harsh, and this level of hurt was even worse than a fight between the two. Lu Yi knew Hu Chuan's character, so he didn't blame him. He just didn't listen to him and had no intention of changing his plan.

Hu Chuan doesn't understand Minmin's situation and doesn't like Minmin, so it's normal for him to be prejudiced.

But he understood. He and Minmin were in the same class in junior high school, and he saw all the grievances that Minmin suffered. Later, he transferred schools because of family matters, but Minmin has always been his white moonlight.

He thinks everything he does is worth it for the girl he has always been thinking about.

Lu Yi glanced at the time, feeling he wouldn't see Bai Ruoruo today, so he turned around and decided to go to the supermarket to buy some groceries and chat with his roommates. Friends who used to call each other "son of a bitch" and "dad" were now completely cold, and Lu Yi didn't want this to continue.

As soon as she turned around, she saw an unexpected person. No, it should be expected, after all, Minmin also met him in this hospital.

Xia Peizhi was pushing a wheelchair with a girl sitting in it wearing a sun hat with only her eyes exposed. The man was very careful in his movements. He was not far away, so he could clearly see the smile on Xia Peizhi's face.

The man who had been seen once before, speaking condescendingly on the stage and in a serious manner with the school leaders, was now speaking to the girl so gently and carefully, racking his brains to make her happy.

Lu Yi knew that the person in the wheelchair must be the source of Minmin's unhappiness.

But she looked different from what he had imagined. In Lu Yi's imagination, Bai Ruoruo should be an arrogant and domineering girl, but looking at her like this, she really couldn't tell anything except a sickly girl, so thin that she looked as if she could be blown away by a gust of wind.

Xia Peizhi was very observant. Before he had looked for long, Xia Peizhi looked towards him with a frown. Lu Yi quickly lowered his head, pretending to look at his phone, and walked out, fearing that someone would notice anything.

It was not until he reached the hospital gate and looked at the busy road that Lu Yi began to regret why he came out like this.

But it’s not completely a waste of time. At least I can be sure that I’m in the right place.

Thinking of this, he sighed again. He had asked the nurse about Bai Ruoruo, but he didn't know whether it was because the Fifth Hospital had too many rules or if all hospitals were like this, but the nurse only questioned him and didn't reveal any information about Bai Ruoruo.

With Senior Xia Peizhi here, Lu Yi felt that it would be impossible for him to have a suitable encounter with Bai Ruoruo today. Moreover, Xia Peizhi's eyes were sharp when he looked at him, and Lu Yi didn't want to admit that he was still scared.
