Chapter 4
15.
Shiori Tadano felt like a gamer with daily tasks to complete. Every morning when she opened her eyes, her phone would be filled with a long string of messages from Gojo Satoru. She glanced at the time the last message was sent: 3:00 AM.
Most of the things Gojo Satoru posts on LINE are trivial mumblings. If there are important matters, he will call directly.
She slid the chat box, and all that popped up on the screen were Gojo Satoru's daily sharings.
Gojo Satoru: "Oden Photo.JPG"
Gojo Satoru: "This oden is terrible, it has no flavor at all!"
Gojo Satoru: "YouTube funny video repost link."
Gojo Satoru: "A dessert shop's sign advertising a new product. They've framed the word 'Limited'.JPG"
Messages like these came one after another. Shiori looked at the nagging content, the corners of her mouth curled up unconsciously, and then she replied to them one by one.
Shiori: "It must have been cooked too short. Bad review!"
Shiori: "Hahahaha this video is so funny!"
Shiori: "This new product looks delicious. If I see it when I pass by, I'll bring some back for the teacher."
Shiori had barely put her phone down when she received a reply. She checked the time again. The person hadn't gone to bed until three in the morning, so he hadn't slept for a few hours at most.
Gojo Satoru's messages popped up one after another at this moment, like a child jumping for joy after receiving a response.
Gojo Satoru: "Yes! Bad review!"
Gojo Satoru: "Hahahaha, that's hilarious, right~"
Gojo Satoru: "Is Shiori my angel?"
Shiori paused, then clicked on the input box and typed in her reply:
Shiori: "Good morning, teacher. I have to go to the first grade for taijutsu class."
Gojo Satoru: "Yeah, Shiori, come on~"
Following behind him was a cartoon man making a V-sign, with his arm raised crookedly, just like the lazy gesture he usually made when he leaned casually against the wall in the corridor.
Shiori then put down her phone, stood up and went to the bathroom to wash up.

In the physical training class, Zenin Maki's attacks became more and more fierce. Every time the bamboo swords clashed, Otsukotsu Yuta's wrist became numb.
"Yuta has made great progress." Panda sat on the steps beside the field with his arms folded, watching the two people sparring in the middle of the training field and sighed, "When he received Maki's move before, his bamboo sword was directly knocked away."
Shiori nodded in agreement, fully agreeing.
Yuta Otsutsuki's progress was truly astonishing. In just three weeks, the initial tremor in his sword grip had already faded. While the arc of his sword swing still held a certain awkwardness, the force of his strike was noticeably steadier.
Compared to his frail appearance when they first met, Yuta Otsutsuki's eyes were now more determined, and his physique was noticeably stronger. Clearly, the extra training he had put in during this period had paid off.
The crisp sound of bamboo swords clashing stopped. Zenin Maki was the first to put away his sword and stood still, saying, "It's time."
Yuta Otsutsuki immediately stopped, holding his knees and breathing heavily.
Goujuanji picked up a bottle of water from the sidelines, unscrewed the cap and handed it to him.
"Thank you, Inugami-san." Yuta Otsutsuka whispered his thanks, his fingers still trembling uncontrollably as he took the water.
Seeing this, Shiori stepped forward and reminded him: "Bend your knees a little more and lower your center of gravity."
Then she picked up the spare bamboo sword on the ground, bent her knees and lowered her waist while demonstrating the movements to Yuta Otsutsukota: "Like this, use the strength of your waist and abdomen to drive your arms to swing out, don't just rely on your wrists to bear the pressure."
Yuta Otsutsukota stared intently at her sword-holding posture for a few seconds, and suddenly whispered, "I feel that Shiori-senpai and Gojo-sensei are a bit similar."
Shiori was stunned for a moment, almost losing her grip on the bamboo sword. "Ah? Me and the teacher?"
"It's just..." Otsutsuki Yuta hesitated, as if trying to find the right words. He paused before continuing, "When I see my senior, I feel at ease."
"Then Yuta, you must work hard." Shiori smiled and raised her hand to ruffle his hair, just like Gojo Satoru often did to her. "You must become a sorcerer who can make others feel at ease in the future."
After the get out of class was dismissed, Shiori lowered her eyes and looked at her hands. It turned out that without realizing it, she had also begun to encourage her juniors in the same way as Gojo Satoru.

"Sorry to have kept you waiting. This is your limited edition Daifuku." The clerk smiled and put the paper box of Daifuku into the handbag, then handed it to Shiori.
In order to get this limited edition dessert that Gojo Satoru had specially circled in a red frame on LINE, she rushed over right after finishing her task and waited in line at the store door for a full forty minutes before finally getting it.
As soon as she walked out of the store, Shiori couldn't wait to hold up her handbag, took a photo, and sent it to Gojo Satoru.
Shiori: "Teacher, I got the limited edition Daifuku~"
Gojo Satoru: "Okay!"
Gojo Satoru: "It's in."
Shiori put away her phone and was about to return to the high school when she suddenly caught a glimpse of two familiar figures standing at the alleyway ahead. Seeing that they were Nanami Kento and Ino Takuma, she raised her hand and ran over quickly, "Ino! Nanami-senpai!"
Nanami Kento nodded: "Good afternoon, Tadano."
"Shiori!" Ino Takuma turned around suddenly, his face full of anxiety, "You came at the perfect time!"
Shiori glanced back and forth between the two of them in confusion: "What happened?"
Ino Takuma pointed at the apartment building behind him and said, "Look outside the third floor!"
Shiori looked up in the direction he pointed, and saw a kitten curled up on the beam on the outer edge of the third floor. "Ino, you can climb up to this height, right?"
"Whenever I get close, it gets nervous and barks at me," Ino Takuma scratched his head, his tone filled with worry. "I'm afraid if I push it too far, it'll just jump off."
"Eh—the stress reaction is so severe, I get it." Shiori's fingertips moved slightly, and she activated a series of spells. She needed something that could get close to the kitten and make it let down its guard.
——【Fantasy Glasses】You can communicate with plants and animals by wearing glasses.
Shiori's eyes lit up. This was exactly what she needed. Immediately, she summoned a bamboo dragonfly and placed it above her head. The propellers hummed as she slowly ascended into the air.
The closer I got, the more I could see the kitten trembling. Sensing someone approaching, it arched its back and let out a vigilant whimper.
Shiori adjusted the speed of the bamboo dragonfly, slowly stopping it at a level with the white cat and at a safe distance. Then she put on her fantasy glasses and began to communicate with the kitten.
After a while, with her continued gentle comfort, the fear in the kitten's eyes gradually subsided and its emotions gradually calmed down.
She carefully lifted the kitten into her arms. The little creature trembled slightly, but obediently buried its head in her arms. Then, the bamboo dragonfly slowly descended, carrying the person and cat to the ground smoothly.
"Great!" Ino Takuma cheered and came over, trying to poke the kitten's ears, but the kitten dodged it nimbly.
"Although the problem has been solved," Nanami Kento's voice rang out, "if ordinary people were to witness the ritual, it could easily cause unnecessary unrest."
He glanced around. In the narrow alley, there were only a few dusty wastepaper boxes leaning against the wall, and no other figures. "Thankfully, this place is hidden enough that no one else can see it."
Shiori held the kitten in her arms and lowered her head slightly: "I'm sorry, Nanami-senpai. I was inconsiderate this time. I will definitely pay more attention next time."
Ino Takuma had already pulled out his phone and was checking a map. "There's an animal rescue station nearby. Should we take it there together?"
Shiori nodded: "Let's go~" She gently stroked the cat in her arms and smiled, "This child looks like the teacher."
Ino Takuma came over to take a look and nodded repeatedly, "Really! The white fur and blue eyes are exactly the same as Gojo-san's!"
Nanami Kento pushed his glasses up. "Although the colors are the same, I really can't connect Gojo-san with cats."
"Hey, let's take a photo together?" Ino Takuma suggested, "To record the fact that we rescued the cat."
Shiori looked at him, smiled, raised an eyebrow, and asked, "Ino, are you really just doing this for the record?"
Ino Takuma just chuckled twice and said nothing more - it was obvious that what he said hit the mark.
After the photo was taken, Shiori leaned over to take a look. In the photo, Ino Takuma was smiling brightly, holding the camera on the left. Shiori was standing in the middle, holding a kitten, and behind her was Nanami Kento, with an expressionless face.
"It's a pretty good photo. Send me a copy." Shiori patted Ino Takuma's shoulder and forwarded the photo directly to Gojo Satoru.
Shiori: "Teacher, this child looks like you."
Gojo Satoru: "No matter how you look at it, I'm cuter than it, right?"
Gojo Satoru: "And why are Ino and Nanami here too? Why don't you bring me along?"
Shiori: "We met by chance on the street~"
…
After the three of them sent the cat to the animal rescue station, Ino Takuma turned to invite Shiori: "Shiori, do you want to have dinner with us? There is a super delicious tempura restaurant nearby."
Shiori smiled and shook the handbag in her hand: "Next time, there are people waiting for me to go back."
18.
In the cafeteria, Shiori was sitting around a table with Kinji Hyō and Kirara Hoshi.
"The frequency of cursed spirits appearing seems to have increased recently, and the amount of training has also increased." Cheng Jinci took a mouthful of rice, his tone a little tired.
Xing Qiluo Luo nodded in agreement. Just as she was about to continue, Gojo Satoru came over and greeted her with a smile, "Hey, you guys are here."
The three of them looked up and responded: "Sensei." "Gojo-sensei." "Satoru-chan."
After swallowing the food in his mouth, Hyojinji took the opportunity to bring up the business: "By the way, Mr. Gojo, please select a first-year student to participate in this sister school exchange meeting."
Gojo Satoru put one hand in his pocket and stroked his chin with the other, as if mentally selecting a suitable candidate. After a moment, he made up his mind: "Then let Yuta go."
"I think it's okay," Shiori nodded in agreement, "Yuta has made rapid progress recently, so he should have no problem attending the exchange meeting."
Cheng Jinci quickly shoveled the last bite of rice in his bowl, picked up his plate and stood up to leave: "Okay, it's settled. I'm done eating, I'm leaving first."
Xing Qiluolu also quickly put down her chopsticks and waved to the two of them: "I'm done eating too. Goodbye, Shiori-chan, Wu-chan~"
Hyokinji and Hoshikiro walked side by side towards the plate recycling area, and soon only Shiori and Gojo Satoru were left in the cafeteria.
Gojo Satoru suddenly leaned closer to Shiori and asked, "Where's my limited edition Daifuku?"
Shiori immediately stood up: "I'll get it for the teacher."
She quickly walked to the cafeteria's communal refrigerator, opened the door, took out the box of daifuku, and handed it to Gojo Satoru.
He couldn't wait to open the package, picked up a pink daifuku and stuffed it into his mouth. He ate two daifuku in a row before stopping and slowly took out a long box from his pocket.
"Here, this is for you." He handed the box to Shiori.
Shiori took the box and opened it. After seeing what was inside, she looked at Gojo Satoru with a hint of surprise: "Tanda?"
"To be precise, it's a cursed tool," Gojo Satoru explained with a smile, his eyes curved. "It's easy to carry around, so it suits you perfectly, right?"
Shiori carefully touched the pattern on the scabbard, and when she looked up, she smiled brightly at Gojo Satoru: "Thank you, teacher, I like it very much."
Gojo Satoru stared at her smile for two seconds, then picked up a Daifuku and stuffed it into his mouth. While chewing, he mumbled, "It's a reward for good children."
Shiori was a little confused: "Is it because I bought a daifuku for the teacher?"
Gojo Satoru didn't answer, but just smiled and raised his hand, ruffling Shiori's hair before she could react.
The smile on Shiori's face froze instantly, and she shrank her neck back suddenly. The next second, she screamed like a groundhog with its fur standing on end: "Teacher! Did you wipe your hands? I just washed my hair!"
Gojo Satoru: "Hmm? No."
