A villain succeeds

A villain succeeds

"Ms. Zhiyun, please leave here." A black shadow blocked Zhiyun's way back to the small kitchen.

Zhiyun was so shocked that she almost couldn't breathe. She looked at the man in black in front of her with uncertainty and said hesitantly: "What? Did the young lady ask you to take me away?"

"It's Mrs. Li." The man in black replied.

Zhiyun temporarily felt relieved about the person in front of her. She would not call Wen Weili "Miss" in front of others. She knew that the "Miss" she was referring to was Madam Li, who was trustworthy.

She anxiously grabbed the man in black and asked, "How is the young lady? Is she out of danger?!"

The man in black was silent for a moment. He didn't know whether he should tell the truth, but Zhiyun had already understood something from his silence. She lowered her head and said in a trembling voice, "I know... What does the young lady want you to do?"

"Madam has asked me to escort you out of Prince Huai's mansion. We'll arrange your next destination." The man in black pointed to the side door behind the warehouse. "This place is relatively safe for the time being. You can leave."

"Excuse me." The man in black grabbed Zhiyun's arm, and the soft touch made him involuntarily relax some of his strength.

What about the young lady? I can leave, but how will the young lady leave? Zhiyun let the black-clad man pull her away in a daze. Thinking of the young lady's usual calmness, she realized that the young lady must stay to stabilize the people in Prince Huai's mansion. As long as the master who can manage Prince Huai's mansion is still there, the individual servants who leave will not be taken seriously. But I don't want to leave the young lady.

Zhiyun smiled calmly, pulled her arm out of the black-clothed man's grasp, and refused, "Brother Black, I'm sorry, I still want to go back and accompany the young lady."

After saying that, she walked towards the palace without hesitation.

The man in black looked at Zhiyun's back, somewhat puzzled, but for the sake of the mission, he still wanted to knock Zhiyun unconscious and take her away.

"Brother in black," Zhiyun said, as if she had eyes on her back, "I'm sure the young lady will ask you to take me away by any means necessary, right?"

The man in black stopped his hand when he wanted to teach Zhiyun some techniques. Yes, now that he knows, why not just follow him?

Zhiyun smiled, "But, Miss also said that I can make my own choices, so my choice today will not change. I will stay by her side forever, until Miss no longer wants me."

Zhiyun knew that she might die or be imprisoned for life if she went back, but she just wanted to accompany the young lady. No, the young lady was not just a young lady, she was like her own sister. How could she, the younger sister, escape?

"Brother in black, the young lady has always treated me like her own sister. She wouldn't want me to come to any harm. So, even if you forcibly take me away, I will run back to Prince Huai's Mansion. How can you keep an eye on me then?"

The man in black put down his hand and left quietly.

Zhiyun ran back to the courtyard with a smile. She knew that when the man in black couldn't take her away, the young lady couldn't let herself leave either.

"Miss, the snow lotus, ginseng, and purple blood grass are all here." Zhiyun calmed her breath at the door, lifted the curtain at the door, and said to Wen Weili who was sitting inside.

"Zhiyun?! Why are you still here?! Get out of here right now!!!" Wen Weili was extremely shocked. She couldn't believe her eyes. She had ordered the secret guards to take Zhiyun away no matter what. Even if the warehouse was surrounded by some soldiers, it would not be a problem for the secret guards to take away a little maid, unless...

"Miss, I don't want to leave. Didn't you say that you would never chase me away unless I wanted to leave?" Zhiyun's eyes suddenly turned red, and her voice was faintly filled with tears. "Miss, are you going to abandon me?"

Wen Weili was extremely helpless. She took out a handkerchief and wiped away Zhiyun's tears. She sighed and said, "At a time like this, I just hope you can all leave. Only when you are safe will I stop worrying."

"But... I am also worried. I know that leaving with the big brother in black... is the best thing, but... if I can't see the young lady's safety, then I... will never live alone!" Zhiyun took the handkerchief, wiped her eyes hard, and choked.

Staring at Zhiyun's face that looked like a cat crying, Wen Weili compromised.

"Okay... okay," Wen Weili let out a long breath and patted Zhiyun's head. "Go to your room and rest for a while. The soldiers have surrounded Prince Huai's mansion tightly. You can't leave now even if you want to."

Zhiyun returned to her room sobbing. In the quiet room again, Wen Weili's fingers slowly stroked the edge of the teacup. Although Zhiyun's foolish behavior made her angry and anxious, seeing that she was safe and sound, half of her heart fell back into her stomach.

But the other half of his heart cannot leave Duanmu Huaixin.

The teacup lid snapped shut on the cup. Wen Weili walked to the window, raised a delicate and sharp hidden arrow, and looked at the cold gleam of the sword tip that was particularly dazzling in the sunlight. She sighed softly, "I hope it won't come to that."

. . . . . .

In the palace, the people sent by the crown prince to Prince Huai's mansion finally came back to report that their people were stopped outside Prince Huai's mansion. Because Prince Huai's title had not been stripped, they could only surround Prince Huai's mansion and not let anyone in or out.

"Waste!" The prince angrily threw the pen to the ground, "Follow me to the imperial prison."

Duanmu Huaixin, whose hands and feet were shackled, was very calm. He was shackled and dressed in prison clothes like a prisoner. Even though he was locked up in a dark, dirty and smelly cell, he closed his eyes slightly, half leaned against the wall, his expression still cold and calm.

There were several conversations in the distance, and a sound of footsteps stopped in front of Duanmu Huaixin's cell.

"Second brother, are you comfortable in prison?" the prince asked maliciously. He wanted very much to see the bastard who used to pretend to be in pain and kneel down to beg for mercy.

"..." Duanmu Huaixin remained motionless.

"How dare you! You are already a criminal, why don't you answer quickly!" the jailer on the side scolded.

"Shut up!" The eunuch beside the prince glared at the jailer.

The prince sneered and kicked the iron railings, causing the gold and jade decorations on his shoes to make a crisp sound. He sighed, "I can't believe it, second brother. You were once such a noble prince, but now you are wearing such tattered prison clothes. You are so different from your usual self. Isn't it? Hahahaha..."

Duanmu Huaixin raised his eyelids, and seeing that the prince looked like he was crazy, he closed them again. They all knew that the prince could not do any real harm to him, so he could only talk.

Sure enough, the prince was even more enraged by Duanmu Huaixin's attitude. He was burning with rage and wanted only to make Duanmu Huaixin kneel down and beg for mercy!

As it happened, there was a young eunuch among the eunuchs who had thought of something and whispered something to his godfather. His godfather nodded and whispered a few words to the prince.

The prince was overjoyed when he heard this. He grinned and said, "Alright, your Prince Huai's mansion is closed and no one can come out. But if they take you there, can they still deceive themselves?!"

Duanmu Huaixin's eyebrows twitched, and he frowned imperceptibly. "It's useless. You know my reputation. I don't care about the people in Prince Huai's Mansion at all."

After saying that, Duanmu Huaixin continued to remain silent, being truly heartless.

But how could the Crown Prince, who had been staring at Duanmu Huaixin, miss his expression? The Crown Prince felt that he had caught Duanmu Huaixin's weakness and said, "I will make you kneel in front of Prince Huai's Mansion. I will make the women who love you look at you in this state of disgrace. I will make those who admire you see your true face!"

Duanmu Huaixin seemed a little impatient. He said coldly, "Don't you know clearly about my Huaiwang Mansion? Where are the people who admire me? Where are the people who respect me? They are all your people."

"You really have noticed that those people are not doing right." The prince suddenly understood why Prince Huai's Mansion had expelled so many people in the past few days. His face was gloomy. "You are using this as a pretext to clean up Prince Huai's Mansion!"

"You're not stupid," Duanmu Huaixin said with a smile, "If it weren't for my father suddenly handing you the important task of regent, my Prince Huai's Mansion would have been clean long ago. It wouldn't be like it is now, a shell full of termites."

How could this be! How could this be! The prince was so angry that he was shaking all over. This bastard had deceived everyone right under their noses! He made them think that he was just angry for his beloved.

The prince was so angry that he turned to leave. Duanmu Huaixin couldn't help but clench his fingers under the corner of his clothes. But the prince turned around again, and Duanmu Huaixin suddenly tightened his fingers. This subtle movement made the prince squint his eyes. This bastard must be hiding something. What could it be?

The young eunuch hurriedly told his godfather, "Godfather, that 'famous' daughter of the Wen family in the imperial city grew up with Prince Huai."

The little eunuch's godfather's eyes lit up and he presented the news to the prince.

The Crown Prince suddenly realized that he had been fooled by this bastard again. He laughed in anger and said, "I remember now. That girl from the Wen family seems to be your childhood sweetheart?"

Duanmu Huaixin pursed his lips and said, "It's just a cover."

"Hmph, you've confessed yourself," the Crown Prince laughed heartily. "I've already seen the weakness you're trying to conceal. I think if they used you to trick the door of Prince Huai's Palace open, then the Wen family girl would be just a pawn in their clutches."

"How dare you!" Duanmu Huaixin was finally enraged. He suppressed his anger and said, "Since I have made a mistake, I should stay in the imperial prison until my father makes a ruling. I will not leave this prison for a single moment!"

"Duanmu Huaixin, ah Duanmu Huaixin, you were careless and I still caught you!" The prince was extremely arrogant. He was full of excitement. Seeing the anger of this bastard made him extremely happy. No matter how sincere this bastard was to the girl from the Wen family, since he could cause this bastard's expression to change drastically, it must be useful.

The prince waved his hand and said, "Come here, take Prince Huai to Prince Huai's Mansion. I want to interrogate this case in Prince Huai's Mansion!"

Duanmu Huaixin could no longer suppress his calm expression. He wanted to break free from the guards, but if he hurt others, the prince would have more reason to punish him.

After repeated consideration, Duanmu Huaixin could only reluctantly but helplessly let the guards take him out of the imperial prison.

The prince looked at Duanmu Huaixin's unwilling expression and laughed: "Well, your expression, you bastard, really makes me happy. Wait, you will suffer more later!"
