Wanton revenge

Wanton revenge

But things were not as good as the prince had imagined. Even though Duanmu Huaixin had his hands tied, his clothes were tattered and he looked in a miserable state, the servants of Prince Huai's Mansion kept the door tightly closed as if they could not see anything.

"Damn it!" The prince kicked Duanmu Huaixin fiercely, "Kneel down for me!"

Duanmu Huaixin had practiced martial arts for many years, so how could he be mentioned by the Crown Prince? But the guards guarding him were not idle either. They restrained Duanmu Huaixin's movements and made him suffer the kick.

The prince was still not satisfied. He thought, this bastard is just relying on the hope that his father is still alive to be so unruly. But what if his father never wakes up again? This thought made the prince's blood boil. He couldn't help but touch the jade pendant on his belt, and a hint of murderous intent slowly emerged in his heart.

Duanmu Huaixin sensed this subtle murderous intent, looked up at the prince, and seemed to be thinking about something.

The prince looked up and met Duanmu Huaixin's gaze, forcing a smile, "Second brother, I'll spare your life for now." After saying that, the prince turned around and returned to the palace, ordering a group of guards to continue guarding Prince Huai.

In order to prevent Duanmu Huaixin from using martial arts to escape, the prince had someone feed him a pill of Wudian Powder. However, this Wudian Powder was very rare and could only control him for a while, perhaps a few days or a moment, and Duanmu Huaixin would break through the effect of the medicine at any time.

The imperial palace was deep and quiet. In the queen's Fengning Palace, the emperor lay quietly on the bed with his eyes closed.

The empress held a bowl of brown liquid medicine, scooped up a spoonful, blew gently, and put it into the emperor's mouth. The unconscious emperor naturally couldn't drink the liquid, and the liquid overflowed from his lips, but the empress picked up a handkerchief to wipe the liquid away and put another spoonful of liquid into the emperor's mouth.

"Mother," the Crown Prince walked into Fengning Palace, waved the maids away, and quickly walked into the bedroom. "Mother, I have a brilliant idea."

"What's your idea?" The Queen casually placed the medicine bowl on the small table and looked at the Crown Prince lovingly. "Why is my son here?"

"Mother, do you still remember that bastard Duanmu Huaixin?"

"Of course I won't forget." The Queen sneered, "I spared the child of a bitch out of pity. I never thought he would become a stumbling block to my son when he grew up."

"That bastard seems to know that my father can still wake up. He doesn't listen to my orders at all and is openly opposing me!" The prince looked at his mother's doting expression and rested his head on her knees. "Mother, I want him dead."

The prince did not say clearly whether this "he" referred to Duanmu Huaixin or the emperor. He knew that his mother still had some attachment to his father and would not easily agree to his request.

Sure enough, the Queen gently stroked the Prince's hair and said, "My son, wait a little longer, wait a little longer. There are still some things in the palace that have not been cleaned up. My son, you must quickly take control of the government, otherwise even the things that are in your mouth will fly away."

"Yes, mother. As long as we kill that bastard, no one in the court will oppose us." The prince stood up, took off the jade pendant tied on his belt, and presented it respectfully to the queen.

"Whatever."

The queen sighed softly, took out a red powder that looked like makeup powder from her dressing box, placed the jade pendant and the red powder in the medicine bowl, picked up a spoon and stirred it slowly. Soon, the medicine liquid turned from brown to transparent. If it weren't for the jade pendant sinking to the bottom of the bowl, the bowl of water would be no different from ordinary clear water.

The queen fished out the jade pendant from the bottom of the bowl, handed it to the prince to keep, and picked up the "clear water" again. She took a sip herself and held it in her mouth, then slowly passed it to the emperor to drink.

The prince looked at the scene in front of him excitedly. As the "clear water" entered the emperor's mouth, the emperor, who was originally pale, became more and more listless, and even his unconscious body trembled unconsciously. After feeding a bowl of "clear water", the emperor's body shook violently, as if he was about to wake up in the next moment, but it was all in vain. After some foam overflowed from the corner of the emperor's mouth, he was like dead and never moved again.

"My son," the Queen put down the bowl in her hand and urged the Prince, "Hurry up, hurry up."

The prince kowtowed to the empress, put on the jade pendant, and walked out of Fengning Palace with high spirits. From then on, the emperor was no longer a constraint to him. As long as he removed the obstacles in the palace, he could ascend the throne.

Thinking of this, the Crown Prince could not wait to go to Prince Huai's Mansion. He sneered at Duanmu Huaixin who was still resisting stubbornly and ordered his attendants, "Come here, fight for me."

Looking at Prince Huai's deep eyes, the head guard was a little frightened, but he still took out the serrated steel whip and whipped Duanmu Huaixin's body again and again.

Even if one were physically strong, how many lashes could one withstand? Furthermore, Duanmu Huaixin's internal energy was sealed, making him as fragile as an ordinary person. Yet, Duanmu Huaixin gritted his teeth, remaining silent even as his skin and flesh ripped. And the pitch-black gates of Prince Huai's mansion remained motionless, as if the scene outside were merely a sideshow.

The prince's pride seemed to be poured with a bucket of cold water. He snatched the whip from the guard and lashed Duanmu Huaixin hard, "Beg for mercy! Scream! Let them know you are a waste! Scream!" He was almost exhausted from beating, gasping for breath, and took the basin of pepper water handed to him by his men and poured it all on Duanmu Huaixin's wound.

Streams of blood flowed from the wound and dripped onto the ground. The burning pain in the wound made Duanmu Huaixin whimper in pain. His body couldn't help but spasm. But his inhuman will made Duanmu Huaixin keep his mouth shut. Apart from his uncontrollable physiological reaction, he was silent like a tree.

He is waiting.

The sky gradually darkened. The prince was furious at Duanmu Huaixin's reaction. He laughed in anger and coldly snatched the long sword from the guard's waist. He grinned ferociously in front of Duanmu Huaixin and said, "Today, I will kill you!"

The prince raised his long sword and swung it down hard at Duanmu Huaixin's neck. Seeing that he was about to die in the next second, Duanmu Huaixin finally took action. He used the iron chain between his hands to support the chopped long sword, kicked the prince with his left foot, and then turned over and jumped into Prince Huai's Mansion.

Duanmu Huaixin's sudden resistance caught everyone off guard. The prince felt a sharp pain in his chest from the kick. He waved his hand and said, "Attack!"

Before the officers and soldiers rushed into Prince Huai's Mansion, a "bang" sound was heard from inside the mansion. The hot air was ignited, and the flames, followed by the momentum of the evening breeze, burned fiercely, engulfing Prince Huai's Mansion with unstoppable momentum.

"Damn it!" Seeing his men hesitate, the prince cursed, but he was unwilling to give up. He ordered ordinary officers and soldiers to put out the fire with their own bodies. Some skilled guards used the human wall to rush into Prince Huai's Mansion, determined to capture Duanmu Huaixin.

The officers and soldiers who rushed into the palace failed to find Prince Huai, but saw a group of women running out from the corner. They were the princess and others who had been released.

When Princess Niu saw the prince, she knelt on the ground and said, "Greetings, Your Highness. I am Princess Huai. I am willing to make amends for my crime and help you find the secret passage in the palace." She was about to propose some conditions when a little girl rushed out.

The little girl in the kitchen knelt down before the prince and said, "Your Highness, I have found the exit of the secret passage."

"Well, this is my good dog." The prince looked at the little girl approvingly, "Go back and claim your reward. Kill the others."

Niu's face froze. Staring at the silver-white blade, she was filled with fear. She rolled and tumbled towards the Crown Prince, kowtowing desperately, "Your Highness, I know something else. Please, Your Highness, spare my life for now."

The prince glanced at Niu, as if he had thought of something, smiled, and had someone take Niu away first.

In Prince Huai's mansion, the old housekeeper who had personally set the fire on fire was already dead. Wen Weili supported the seriously injured Duanmu Huaixin and fled with others to the secret passage under the mansion.

"Xinxin, can you hold on?" Wen Weili was extremely anxious, but she couldn't stop to bandage Duanmu Huaixin. They had to keep running away without stopping for a moment.

"Sister Wen, I'm fine," Duanmu Huaixin actually laughed. "Ha, I didn't expect the Crown Prince to attack Father. I got caught red-handed."

"You still have the energy to laugh," Wen Weili also laughed, "If you get caught this time, instead of being taken back and tortured, it would be better to end your own life. It would be a quick and easy ending."

Duanmu Huaixin looked deeply at Wen Weili and said, "Sister Wen, let's become a pair of death mandarin ducks. I heard that lovers who die together can still be together in the next life."

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Wen Weili coughed uncomfortably. "Let's be brother and sister in the next life."

Turning a corner ahead, Duanmu Huaixin's palms were covered in sweat. His wound hurt, and his vision was blacking out, but he no longer cared. One hand rested on Wen Weili's shoulder, and the other hand tightly grasped Wen Weili's hand, preventing her from escaping. Duanmu Huaixin finally broke through the window paper, "I hope it's my lover, because I love you."

Wen Weili subconsciously wanted to avoid him, but Duanmu Huaixin held her hand tightly. She was a little overwhelmed and could only answer randomly, "...No, I, I don't love you."

Duanmu Huaixin's expression suddenly dimmed, his glass-like eyes were already bloodshot, and after hearing Wen Weili's refusal, he closed his eyes tightly.

"I understand." Duanmu Huaixin replied.

Wen Weili looked at him suspiciously, but she couldn't tell from Duanmu Huaixin's cold expression. Was he angry? Even if he was angry, how could we possibly be lovers? I only care for Xinxin as an older sister, how could there be any love between us? Wen Weili thought to herself, but it seemed as if there was something else she had overlooked, something she had suppressed deep within her heart.

During the rest of the journey, Duanmu Huaixin and Wen Weili did not say a word, and the people who followed them did not dare to say a word, until the exit was right in front of them. Zhiyun pulled the corner of Wen Weili's clothes and wanted to say something.

But the guard walking in front suddenly stopped, and found that there was a group of soldiers guarding the exit of the secret passage!

"Didn't you expect it? I've seen through your little tricks a long time ago. Your womanly kindness ultimately got you killed," the Crown Prince laughed wildly. He felt happy when he thought of Duanmu Huaixin's desperate expression. A bastard who lost his bitch mother so early was actually better than him in every way. Even his father often praised this bastard for being more strategic than him. How could he not hate him?!

However, Father will never be able to praise this bastard again. Both of them will shut up forever and will never be able to point fingers at him again. It's really, really happy.

Looking at Duanmu Huaixin and Wen Weili holding hands, the prince became more and more crazy, "What a desperate pair of mandarin ducks! Bastard, I want your woman to be tortured and die in front of you!"

Duanmu Huaixin whistled, and a group of men in black rushed out from all directions and killed the people brought by the prince.

"How is this possible!" The prince cried for help. "Help! Save me! If I get hurt in the slightest, I'll kill all of you!!!"

The fire gradually spread, and the prince saw that Duanmu Huaixin was about to escape in the chaos. He was unwilling to give up, so he ordered his men to bring a pair of poisoned bows and arrows, intending to kill Duanmu Huaixin with the poisoned arrows.
