Chapter 247: Hiding one's weaknesses
Lei Jiang heard Zhou Xiang report that Yun Tao was killing zombies outside the motel, so he took some supplies, drove, and prepared to go to the motel in person and meet the mobile granary.
On this side, Yun Tao was busy clearing the zombies on the street for the whole morning, while An Ran was secretly controlling the green plants on the ground and eating the rats that popped out from time to time.
In the past, when she had no communication with plants, or communicated passively, she didn't know she had this ability. This time, when she was besieged by rats on the construction site, she discovered that her ability could also include finding the roots of plants underground.
So she learned and put it into practice immediately, because she thought that rats were everywhere and were good at digging holes in the ground, so she was really afraid that when she fell asleep at night, a rat would run out and chew the doll until not even a bone was left.
So while An Ran was staying in her room playing with her doll, she was actually feeling the roots of the plants underground. This mysterious feeling made her world not feel lonely, but on the contrary, it was particularly lively and noisy.
In her mind, it was as if countless mouths were talking, you talk yours and I talk mine, just like in a vegetable market. If you listen carefully, it's nothing more than some stone hitting your waist, you squeezed me, etc., trivial matters without any value.
But occasionally there are some valuable things. When mice come, I find the rat holes and kill them. I am pretty good, right? Please give me a like. And so on.
They can't really tell the difference between humans and zombies. It's probably more of a description of appearance, human-shaped, powerful, and a few of them. It may be because An Ran's ability is not strong and she can't feel it more specifically, so the information they feed back to An Ran can't even tell the difference between Yun Tao and zombies.
Yun Tao saw that there seemed to be someone at the end of the street trying to restrain the zombies on the street, so he wiped the sweat from his forehead and turned back to the motel.
Inside the hotel, An Ran came out of the room holding the baby and sat near the inside. The weather was hot, so the baby would not be so noisy if they sat in a cooler place.
When she saw Yun Tao coming in, she tilted her head and asked, "Are there many zombies outside?"
"Someone is helping us solve it." Yun Tao did not give a direct answer. He walked to the table in the middle of the hotel, frowned, looked down at the map, unbuttoned his shirt that was stained with zombies' blood, and walked around the hotel wearing only a short-sleeved T-shirt.
The baby hummed a few words, and stared at An Ran with its big round eyes, as if recognizing someone. An Ran made a few faces at the baby to tease her, then she came to her senses, looked at Yun Tao again, and said:
"Actually, I can help you deal with some of the zombies outside."
"Don't use your supernatural powers in a big way for now." Yun Tao frowned, staring at the map on the table, pointed to the end of the street, and explained to An Ran: "There are always people on this street. The zombies are not all coming for us. You will expose yourself. We are walking in the apocalypse. It is best not to be in the limelight if we can."
People who are in the limelight are prone to attract jealousy, especially since Yun Tao has not yet figured out Lei Jiang's purpose, and what those people who have been hiding in the dark on this street are doing. It would be better for him and An Ran to keep a low profile, otherwise there might be big trouble in the future.
An Ran nodded. She thought she had learned another word from Yun Tao: hide one's shortcomings! Please beg for a monthly ticket. Vote for me.
