Chapter 26 Then Let's Die Together

Chapter 26 Then Let's Die Together

She didn't know what this shiny thing, let's call it a diamond, was used for, but she picked it up, put it in her pocket, and continued to climb upstairs. This time An Ran didn't put the knife back into her pocket, she just held the knife and went on her way.

When she reached the emergency staircase on the 5th floor, An Ran was exhausted. In order to have a better access to the neonatal department, she sat on the ground and prepared to rest for a while.

The floor was very cold, and Anran's waist was aching. It had not been 24 hours since she gave birth, so she really shouldn't have tortured herself like this. But she had no choice now. She couldn't stay at home to recuperate after giving birth. Talking about recuperation after giving birth to her child now was a luxury.

Leaning her head weakly against the door, An Ran began to shed tears silently again. She missed her ex-husband so much now. Although Zhan Lian might not be able to help her in any way and he only appeared in her life for a few short days, he had been her family for a year after all. For at least that year, she had thought about growing old with this man and then dying together.

Unconsciously, An Ran's face was blurred with tears. She raised the back of her hand holding the knife and wiped the tears from her face. When the back of her hand was stained with tears, it hurt so much that she almost cried out. The corridor was very dark, and An Ran couldn't see clearly how badly the back of her hand was injured. After the pain, she just felt itchy. She didn't dare to scratch it, for fear of breaking the skin and making it more painful.

Enduring the burning itching on her arms, An Ran sat up and looked through a small glass window on the safety door, which allowed her to clearly see several zombies that had successfully evolved in the neonatal department on the 5th floor.

Everyone in the neonatal department was gathered in the corridor. In the dark night, the lights in the corridor flickered as if they were about to break down. At one end was the blue light room, at the other end was the intensive care unit, and there were some doctors' offices facing the security door. Except for the doctors' offices and the corridors, family members were not allowed to enter or leave any place in the neonatal department at will.

Although many family members are crowded here just because they miss their children, causing the zombies on the 5th floor to be overcrowded, one good thing is that the doors of the neonatal wards are not ordinary ward doors, but thick metal sliding doors.

Just a few hours after An Ran gave birth, the baby showed symptoms of high jaundice and a slight fever. Like all the other children in the ward, they were admitted to the neonatal department. An Ran followed the nurse holding the baby and took the elevator up once. After she paid the hospital bill for the baby, the doctor said that she had wrapped the baby too tightly, and it was possible that the baby had a slight fever.

First expose it to blue light for 10 hours and continue to observe the situation.

So An Ran’s daughter should be in the blue light room now.

She gently opened the security door, and in the quiet corridor, a slight "creaking" sound was heard, which was particularly obvious and attracted several zombies nearby. Anran stopped and opened the door a crack, looking at the nearest zombie, which was already very close.

Standing in the safety passage, An Ran tried to turn her body sideways to let the zombie feel the gap in the door. After half of its body was in, she stood behind the zombie and slammed the safety door shut, trapping the zombie. Then she leaned her body against the thick safety door, raised the hand holding the knife, and stabbed it towards the zombie's head.
