Chapter 861 Don’t Want to Go Back

Chapter 861: Don't Want to Go Back

The shadow moved, as if a person walked out of the shadow, wearing a black special police uniform, a black peaked cap on his head, and a black sports backpack on his back. He saluted the person on the bed, his voice was calm, but with a hint of respect,

"Mr. Chen, my name is Mu Feng, and I'm here to pick you up."

"Where to go?"

Chen Chaogong, who was sitting on the bed, stretched out his hand, took the cotton coat on the bedside table and put it on. He looked sharply at the young man standing by the window. The young man was only about twenty years old, but the aura he exuded was comparable to Zhan Lian.

"Mr. Chao Xi sent me to pick you up and take you back to the Kinmen base." Mu Feng answered briefly and to the point, as if he didn't want to say anything extra.

So Chen Chaogong smiled and asked, "Now he is finally willing to take me back? Is his position secure?"

In silence, Mu Feng pursed his lips and looked at Chen Chaogong with his bright eyes. He was only responsible for executing orders. As for any dirty secrets of the Chen family, it had nothing to do with Mu Feng.

"Go back and tell Chen Chaoxi that I'm doing fine here and don't want to go back."

Seeing that Mu Feng was not going to answer, Chen Chaogong took off his clothes again and huddled back into the warm bed. Before going to bed, he forgot to add firewood, so the room was a little cold. Now he didn't want to lift the quilt and run to the wood-fired generator, so he just left it at that.

As sleepiness gradually overwhelmed him, Chen Chaogong tilted his head and saw Mu Feng still standing by the window. He yawned, pointed at the wood-fired power boiler in the middle of the room, and said to Mu Feng: "If you don't leave, please help me add some firewood. I'll take a nap first."

The man called Mu Feng finally moved, carrying a huge sports bag on his back and wearing heavy black military boots. He walked to the side of the wood-fired power boiler, squatted on one knee, opened the small door of the boiler, and threw a few pieces of dry firewood into it.

Then, Mu Feng frowned and turned around to look at Chen Chaogong on the bed. Mr. Chen had fallen asleep, his breathing was even, his heart was beating normally, and he seemed to be a big-hearted person, not at all like the legend said, that he was a powerful figure in the political arena.

A night passed with the sound of sporadic gunfire. The next morning, the snow stopped for a while and the sounds of life began to return. Children carried their schoolbags and walked out of the house on the snow. They held sweet potatoes for breakfast in their hands and went to school with sleepy eyes.

Chen Chaogong, who was dreamless, slowly opened his eyes and turned around to see Mu Feng sitting in the morning light. He frowned, sat up, stretched, and asked:

"Why haven't you left yet?"

"Are you awake? You can pack your things and follow me."

Mu Feng folded his arms, still carrying his sports bag, and stood up from his chair, looking ready to go at any time.

Chen Chaogong lifted the quilt and got out of bed, sweeping his slippers barefoot under the bed. A pair of slippers hand-crocheted with wool were swept out by his feet. Chen Chaogong lazily put his bare feet into the slippers, reached out, scratched his belly in the thermal underwear, and slowly walked into his bathroom.

Mu Feng remained silent, still with his arms folded, looking at Chen Chaogong busying around in the bathroom with a stern face. There was a hint of patience in his dark eyes.

He was only responsible for bringing back Chen Chaogong. Anything else, including the current speculation of the Kinmen base and whether Chen Chaogong had betrayed the Kinmen base, had nothing to do with Mu Feng.
