Chapter 88 Don't cry
Now that Hu Zhen and An Ran were not around, Chen Jiao kept kissing He Wen's little face, almost waking him up from his deep sleep. He even hummed twice in anxiety, but she stopped and held He Wen in her arms, carrying a large bag of food, ready to go to the waste passage to meet up with Hu Zhen and An Ran.
When passing by the safety stairs, Chen Jiao heard a sound coming from the safety door, as if someone was scratching the door with fingernails. She was startled and quickened her pace to run towards the sewage passage. However, after only two steps, He Wen in her arms woke up and opened his mouth to cry.
Chen Jiao widened her eyes and watched the safety door being slammed open with a bang. Three or four zombies squeezed out of the door. In the safety passage at the back, she could vaguely see a few child zombies crawling downstairs. These should be the zombies on the sixth floor. They somehow opened the safety passage door on the sixth floor and climbed down from above.
The leading zombie even made a few "ho-ho" sounds at He Wen. Following its guidance, the zombies behind him became more certain of their target and gathered around Chen Jiao.
She screamed in fear, holding He Wen and a bag of food, and ran desperately towards the sewage passage. He Wen cried all the way, waiting for Chen Jiao to enter the sewage passage and reach the second floor. Before she ran to the first floor, the door connecting the first floor hall to the sewage passage was pushed open by four wandering zombies.
These zombies evolved very quickly. Not only did their hearing become many times more sensitive, they seemed to have awakened the ability to summon their own kind. Zombies could not bark before, but now some of them can actually bark, and this call can have the effect of attracting a hundred responses.
Being attacked from both sides, Chen Jiao could only hold He Wen and run to the third floor. There were no zombies on the third floor, but He Wen kept crying and howling at the top of his lungs. Chen Jiao was extremely anxious. If He Wen continued crying like this, all the zombies in the sewage passage would crawl to the third floor.
And she couldn't get out now. There seemed to be several zombies in the sewage passage on the first floor.
Chen Jiao was extremely anxious. She looked around on the huge third floor, then looked at He Wen in her arms. She shook He Wen angrily and shouted, "Don't cry. If you cry any more, the zombies will come. Don't cry!!! We will all be eaten."
How could the child listen to her? He Wen wanted to cry, and Chen Jiao grabbed him, shaking him like a sieve. The more she shook, the louder He Wen cried.
Hu Zhen, who had been worried about He Wen, stood in the sewage passage in the basement, looking up anxiously. She seemed to have heard He Wen's cry, so she climbed up from the basement anxiously to the first floor.
I just happened to see a few zombies, about four of them, crawling towards the second floor. The lock of the door connecting the sewage passage on the first floor to the hall had been broken, but there were still a steady stream of zombies that broke the door open and went to where the crying sound came from upstairs.
Hu Zhen hurriedly turned around and ran out of the dirt passage in the basement. He knocked on An Ran's car window and looked at An Ran sitting in the driver's seat. Hu Zhen said anxiously, "Chen Jiao and He Wen seem to be blocked upstairs by zombies."
An Ran was stunned inside the car window. Didn't Chen Jiao just go to pick up a child? An Ran had dealt with the zombies on the third, fourth, fifth and dirty floors. How did Chen Jiao get stuck upstairs? So An Ran asked:
"Which floor? Isn't she just going to pick up a baby?"
